This was a good book! I liked the themes of family, dysfunction, betrayal, guilt, growth, and love. It was a nicely written story, and it was a good read! I think this was a good book that still has me thinking about it!

Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complimentary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!

Twins Mia and Chloe appear close, but their relationship is built on jealousy and resentment. Mia, popular and adored, has always overshadowed Chloe. Now, Mia's back, wanting to share Chloe's life, including her fiancé. Chloe refuses to let Mia ruin her life again. When tragedy strikes, one sister seizes the chance to take over the life she craves.

I was drawn to The Quiet Sister because phycological thriller is the genre that speaks to me most… plus, I’m a twin, and books involving twins always pique my interest. I enjoyed the intertwining of the present and past throughout the book. I loved the slight twists and turns. I loved reading about the bond, or lack thereof, of Mia and Chloe. I liked how trading places can become sinister. Also, I love when a book can mess with your head (for lack of a better word). Overall, The Quiet Sister was very well written.
I just wish the ending wasn’t so abrupt.

This novel is a psychological thriller about twins who on the outside seem to have a good relationship but are secretly holding on to resentment, bitterness and jealousy. Mia and Chloe are completely opposite of each other… Mia is the popular, attractive one who always wants to be center of attention and Chloe is the shy one more quiet and reserved.

Chloe tries to build her life without her sister involved then Mia shows up trying to push her way back in Chloe’s life and wanting all that her sister has. Will Chloe be underestimated?

Such an engrossing and intense read! If you like thrillers with gripping, page turning twists that keep you drawn in then you won’t want to miss reading this book.

This story is about two twin sisters. In all fairness, it was a solid read. I always encourage readers to read a book for themselves. My opinion is mine alone. I rate this three solid stars.

I wanted to try this book due to previous descriptions of being a fast paced page turner - unfortunately for me the story about Chloe and Mia two identical looking twin sisters and their relationship did not hold my interest. It was not a page turner for me , I found it slow and quite banal - apologies my review is only two stars..

A fire that takes the life of her twin sister Mia offers Chloe the chance to reinvent herself by taking over the successful life her sister led, but can she keep up the pretense and run from the secrets she has been keeping?

The Quiet Sister by Alex Stone opens with the devastating fire that takes the life of Mia, the only problem is that everyone assumes the body is that of Chloe, her identical twin, since the property belonged to Chloe and no one was aware Mia was there. Chloe had been out for the evening and only returned as her sister's body was being assessed by paramedics. In a split second, she made the decision not to make her presence known or the fact that the body has been wrongly identified. Instead, Chloe decides to head to Bournemouth where Mia has an apartment. The big question is why?

We slowly learn of the fractious relationship between Mia and Chloe. From childhood, their characters were vastly different. Mia was very outgoing, assertive, popular and successful, alongside being a master manipulator. Chloe was the complete opposite; quiet, empathetic and unassuming. Although Chloe is happy with her life she couldn't help but be envious of the lifestyle her sister had.

Secrets lie at the heart of the story. Both Chloe and Mia are hiding secrets. Sometimes the secrets are more like little white lies, at other times they are hiding actions done out of love, and at others for personal gain. Keeping secrets, both from the past and much more recently, all add to Chloe's low self-esteem and doubt. It is only the reappearance of an old face that allows her to reassess what she truly values, leading to a tense showdown.

Personally, I didn't find this book that good. It seemed slow and I ended up skimming it because nothing reached out to me. Two sisters: one always the center of attention, and one always overlooked. Tension. Jealously. Where will it take these two? who will survive?

If you’re looking for a fast paced book this is for you.
A book about twin sisters who are polar opposite. One who is shy and reserved the other who wants to be the center of attention. Even tho they aren’t as close as one wants to be. Her sister wants the best for her. Even tho she has lied and manipulated people to make it into what she wants. But it all comes out in the end.

Alex Stone delivers a gripping, tension-filled thriller in The Quiet Sister, a novel packed with sibling rivalry, deception, and long-buried secrets. With a recommendation from B.A. Paris, I knew I had to read this—and it did not disappoint.

Mia and Chloe may be twins, but their relationship is anything but harmonious. Mia, the golden child, has always been the center of attention, while Chloe, quiet and overlooked, has worked hard to create a peaceful life away from her sister’s shadow. But when Mia returns, determined to reclaim what she believes should be hers—including Chloe’s fiancé—old wounds reopen, setting the stage for a battle of manipulation, power, and revenge.

Stone masterfully builds suspense, crafting a psychological thriller where nothing is quite as it seems. The dynamic between the sisters is fascinating, shifting between love, resentment, and deep-seated rivalry. As secrets unravel and tragedy strikes, the twists come fast, keeping the tension high and the pages turning.

With its sharp writing, dark family drama, and a finale that lands perfectly, The Quiet Sister is an addictive read that will keep thriller fans hooked. If you love books with toxic relationships, jaw-dropping twists, and a slow burn that leads to an explosive ending, this one is for you.

Very intriguing premise with some really complicated characters. Really enjoyed the plot and how the story went back and forth between the past and the present. A very well paced story that I flew through and really enjoyed reading. However, the last part of the book just seemed like a bit of a let down after all of the build up along the way. The ending seemed very contrived and convoluted.

A great book, minus the ending!

Twin sisters Mia and Chloe are very different to one another. One is quiet and the other quite controlling and carefree.

This is a really good read and I enjoyed the unfolding relationship of the sisters with the twists and changes of personalities.

It is a well written tale and the plot is smooth with just enough drama.

This is a book I wished I kept for my upcoming holiday ..its brilliant

Chloe and Mia are identical looking twin sisters with completely different personalities. Mia is very controlling and wants anything Chloe has. Chloe is less confident and very naive. When Mia returns home from along work trip their old patterns return. Mia seems determined to rid Chloe of her relationship with her fiance scott and to set Chloe up to fail again.
This is a fast paced suspenseful book with twists and turns as Chloe realizes how controlling scott is, and Mia determined to make a mess of everything. You will be rooting for Chloe as you wish Mia would just disappear.
