I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving this review. All opinions are my own.
Reese has a few goals for her sophomore year of college, including asking out Caleb, whom she has been crushing for a year. However, rescuing a stranger, Dane, from death was not planned. Dane offers Reese a favor as thanks for saving his life and does not expect her to ask for dating advice. Helping Reese win over Caleb is the goal. Falling for her in the process definitely is not.
I loved this book. I loved seeing Reese and Dane grow throughout the book; I loved the writing style. I just had a fantastic time reading this book. I love a bad boy x good girl trope, and I love it even more when it is a misunderstood bad boy. Reese and Dane were made to be such realistic characters that I loved reading about them. I cannot describe how much I related to Reese as a character, getting to see her internal struggles, navigating college, and how shy she was. I loved her. She was such a good character to relate to. Again, I love how their dynamic develops. You can feel the chemistry between them, so when they finally get together, it doesn't feel forced or insta-lovey. I cannot wait to see what comes next from Elvie.

I loved Dane and Reese’s relationship, the good girl/bad boy dynamic. Their banter was top tier. Both characters had a lot of growth throughout the book. My only complaint was that the ending seemed rushed.
4.5 stars. Thank you to Net Galley and the author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

If you love slow-burn romance, witty banter, and just the right amount of high-speed adrenaline, this book is for you!
Reese Vann is the kind of protagonist you can’t help but root for. She’s smart, a little shy, and trying to navigate college life while dealing with an overprotective sister. Her awkwardness and internal struggles felt so relatable—especially when it comes to stepping out of her comfort zone. I saw a lot of myself in her, which made her journey all the more engaging. Even made me cry a little as I saw maybe too much of myself in her.
Then there’s Dane Kingsley—mysterious, reckless, and a little too charming for his own good. His love for cars and his complicated family situation reminded me of the Fast & Furious franchise (which I’m a huge fan of!). If you love that mix of loyalty, found family, and a rebellious streak, you’ll definitely enjoy Dane’s character. The car culture woven into the story added an exciting layer that made the romance even more unique.
What I loved most about this book is how naturally Reese and Dane’s dynamic develops. Their deal starts as something simple—just dating advice—but the way their chemistry unfolds is both heartfelt and hilarious.
Overall, this book is the perfect mix of humor, romance, and self-discovery. Whether you're here for the love story, the character growth, or just the car-loving bad boy with a hidden soft side, you won’t be disappointed.

This book is beautifully written. The story was cohesive and well written, the language was easy to understand and the characters were fleshed out and loveable.
This book was unputdownable and i am eternally grateful to have been given the opportunity to read this book as I believe it is a masterpiece. The reason I gave only four stars was that at times the pacing seemed very rushed (more so towards the end) but other than that this book is perfection. The chemistry is there, and all my highlights are Dane quotes.
I really, really enjoyed this book and will be recommending it highly to everyone!

This was a slow start for me but the farther i got into the book the more i started to enjoy it this being the debut novel, I loved it and couldn’t put it down. I am excited to see where Elvie goes next and see what else comes after this one. I loved both Reese and Dane and i’m excited to read more.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the banter and the instant connection between Reese and Dane. I’m a sucker for the guy falling first. & there was no doubt that Dane wanted Reese. The character development was also top tier. Reese wasn’t letting her past and trauma define who she was. Dane helped her realize how strong she was, while she helped Dane realize that he wasn’t the bad person everyone made him out to be. Their story was simply beautiful. I also liked the PTSD representation!
I want to thank NetGalley and Elvie Everly for the opportunity to read an early copy of this book!!

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for providing this ARC for my voluntary and honest review!
Morally gray / “touch her and die”. Loved this one from start to finish. Great chemistry that kept me turning the pages. Just be sure to check the trigger warnings!

5 stars! I loved all of it. I was sucked in from page one. I loved the fast and furious vibes and all the car talk. Reese was so sweet and empathetic. She over came her past trauma with grace and perseverance. Dane’s was a perfect balance of smart and foul mouthed and I loved him. The growth of his character was just *chefs kiss. He and Reese complemented each other so well and grew together as a couple and worked through so much. I cannot wait to read other books from Elvie.

Very cute story with really lovely leads. A fun take on the bad boy with a heart of gold and shy good girl. I really loved how full both characters lives outside of their romance were, it made both of them feel very alive.
A wonderful debut, can’t wait to see what’s next!

This one was such an entertaining read! The characters were great! Reese was easy to root for, and Dane had that perfect mix of cocky and secretly sweet. Their banter? A+. The whole dynamic between them was fun, and even though Dane was supposed to be helping Reese with her love life, we all knew where that was going.
The romance had just the right amount of tension, the humor was on point, and the story kept me hooked. If you’re into college romances with a little chaos and a lot of chemistry, this one’s definitely worth a read!

Thank you for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The Crash Course is an opposites attract/good girl x bad boy romance in a college setting. The chemistry between Dane and Reese was great. I loved how Dane fell first and harder and how he was so grumpy to everyone else and so cute to Reese. Also, the nicknames made me laugh so hard 😂
Reese was an amazing FMC. I felt so sorry for what happened to her, but loved the strong person she became. The ending was cute but felt a little too rushed for me, so I'm rating this book 4.5 stars (but rounding up to 5 here).
This was a great example of how the right person can help you become a better version of yourself. I loved seeing how Dane and Reese treated each other with mutual respect and understanding and helped each other thrive.
Overall, an incredible debut!

Dane a misunderstood, brooding street racer on the mend, meets the shy, traumatized Reese who’s just trying to get her degree and heal from all that she’s been through. When he’s found by her after an encounter with some rivals, they form a strange friendship that morphs into so much more.
This has easily been one of my favorite reads so far this year! The chemistry between Dane and Reese was to die for, and I will forever recommend this to anyone who loves street racing romances because this was truly one of the greatest! I cannot wait to release day when I can snag a copy to have forever on my shelves!!

I loved this book, Reese is a headstrong confident woman who is more focused on getting her degree than dating. Enters Dane, a bad boy, who while getting his degree is more bothered about fixing up cars, with a bad reputation, Dane is best avoided. Until Reese finds him beaten up and invites him back to hers to patch him up and let him recover, albeit, unaware of who he is and therefore his reputation. Their relationship begins to flourish as Dane protects and looks out for Reese more than anyone has ever done before for her. However, Reese is then told about him by her sister and warns her off. Being the feisty female lead (a must have for any good novel), Reese ignores this warning and continues to fall for Dane. I found myself drawn along with the developments of their relationship and found myself routing for them to last and be happy with one another.
I'm stunned that this is a debut novel, it didn't feel that way at all. My only critique and it is a personal one, while at the time I’m happy for the 'four years later' part, sometimes I feel that it just rushes the characters, i would much prefer that to be missed off and there to be a sequel. Again, this is massively personal to what i would prefer, but maybe that’s just because i want to read another book with Reese and Dane! I can't wait to see what Elvie does next.

Girl saves guy.. guy falls hard for girl and I spent hours reading, swooning and kicking my feet at this book!! The fact that this was a debut that absolutely does NOT feel like a debut?!! 😮💨👏🏻

I love a guy that just absolutely has this sweet spot for his girl and Dane was the definition of this!! 🫠 Reese finds her person in Dane and I loved that they work through the hardships while learning to enjoy life together!
Fun, swoony, slow burn with steam! Perfect one sitting read. 🥰

I absolutely loved this book - writing style was fantastic and the perfect amount of spice. A great, cosy easy read that I read in one sitting because I couldn't stop! The character development of Dale was great and Reese was such a cute lead.
I hope Elvie has more books coming as they will be added to my TBR stat!

That was a debut novel?!?!
I would never have guessed!
I thoroughly enjoyed Dane and Reese’s relationship.
Onion rings!
I can’t wait to read more from Elvie Everly!
