Such a cute and spicy read. The chemistry was off the charts and Grady successfully melted my heart more and more every time he was on the page. Also, the opening sentence instantly had me hooked 😂

This was a really lovely story.
Spencer is on a boyfriend ban, mostly jaded from seeing her parents relationships fail and afraid of repeating their mistakes. Her latest job is ending and she doesn’t know what to do next. She’s travelled for many years and is now looking for some stability.
Unfortunately the two decisions don’t go well together, when Spencer decides that her next step for her career is helping Grady save the spirit of his small town and their independent shops. They’ll need to spend so much time together, and they have this connexion that just gets harder and harder to ignore... Especially when Grady doesn’t want the distance she puts up, and doesn’t want them to stay just friends.
I loved seeing Grady show up for Spencer time and time again, strong and determined to help her see that they’re inevitable, but also he’s respectful and accepts that she decides the terms of their relationship. All he wants is to uplifts her and for her to achieve her goals, even when it hurts his own feelings. She’s never had anyone supporting her before and she deserved it so much. I wanted to protect her, and help her realise she’s worth so much more than she thought. Her self confidence grew so much stronger in the book and it was amazing to see it.

So much heart in this book! I had previously never heard of this author and this book has instantly made her an auto read for me. I laughed, I swooned, I cried. It was amazing.
Spencer is a travel influencer on social media. She is always on the go, never staying in one place too long. Having watching her mom let men have control of her and Spencer's life, Spencer vows to never be attached to a man. She's on a boyfriend boycott. There are 3 rules
1. One night only.
2. No strings attached
3. No personal questions.
All her previous flings agreed to these terms. Until Grady Landry. Grady wants her, and he is willing to fight with everything he has to strive to Spencer that she should stay in Heartwood. With him.
Having a childhood similar to Spencer's, I resonated with this whole thing. It is so well written and both Spencer and Grady have a lot of character growth and really emotionally (and physically 😏🔥) intimate moments. I am so glad I discovered Meg, and I will be reading her other published work, and any word going forward. Thank you NetGalley, Wild Rose, Meg for this ARC!

I really enjoyed this book! In the first book of the series Spencer crosses paths with Grady Landry. Grady is the brother of her best friend's boyfriend/partner, Mason. Spencer comes back to visit Ally, her best friend, in Heartwood while traveling in a camper van for her travel blog. She plans to stay a few weeks. While there she runs back into Grady, who hasn't stopped thinking about her since he first saw her over a year ago. After a "one-night stand" they agree to some terms because Spencer does not want a boyfriend. Grady agrees to the rules, but is going to try and push the limits on these rules and show Spencer how much he cares about her and hopes that she will take a chance on him.
I loved how Grady worked to show Spencer how important she was to him and how he helped her see her worth. She seemed like she would be a very confident woman, but really she had a lot of self-doubt. Being able to see the growth with both of the main characters throughout the book was amazing. I loved seeing Grady show others that he had some fight in him and that he will fight for the people he loves and cares for, as well as the entire town. Spencer became more confident in herself and what she can do. She was able to work through some trauma and realize what really matters in life and that sometimes, its okay to follow you're heart.
I loved this book! This is the authors second book and she has shown a lot of growth as a writer. I struggled a bit with the timeline in the story. It just didn't seem consistent and I was confused about when things had happened. It didn't take away from the story, but just made me question the timeline.

Thanks for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
As a sucker for small-town romance, I had to read this. Normally, I'm not super into one night to lovers, but this one was done very well.
Grady was a goner for Spencer, he definitely fell first and harder. I loved how he took care of Spencer and convinced her to stop running from love. Spencer was a great fmc and her backstory was very relatable.
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 (-0.5 because some things happened off-page that I would've liked to experience with the characters, but I rounded up here)
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶

The Boyfriend Boycott is a fun, emotional, and steamy contemporary romance that takes the classic "friends with benefits" trope and adds depth, humor, and a swoon-worthy hero.
The story follows Spencer, a woman determined to avoid relationships after witnessing generations of romantic disasters in her family. Enter Grady Landry—charming, persistent, and undeniably irresistible. What was supposed to be a no-strings-attached arrangement quickly becomes complicated, especially as they start working together.
One of the book’s strengths is its dual POV, allowing readers to see both Spencer’s struggles and Grady’s unwavering devotion. While Spencer’s stubbornness was frustrating at times, Grady was the perfect balance—patient, understanding, and utterly swoon-worthy. Their chemistry was undeniable, making the slow-burn romance feel authentic and rewarding.
Overall, The Boyfriend Boycott is an engaging romance with heartfelt moments, strong character development, and a satisfying happily-ever-after. If you love the "commitment-phobe meets the one person who changes everything" dynamic, this book delivers.
⭐ 4/5 stars

This book was so good! I really loved the characters and how well developed they were! I enjoyed reading their story!

The writing was not for me, but the plot was good. The characters were well developed, I think I missed the part where she tells Grady she has a boyfriend ban in place. The spicy scenes at the beginning were a bit awkward.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!
I loved this book! Dual POVs are my favorite so there was a plus before I even started reading. Also Grady is THE book boyfriend. I loved him! And his chemistry with Spencer was great. Full of spice but not overly so- just the perfect amount.
I came into this series with this being the first book I read, but it was clear without looking it up that the first one was based on Mason and Ally and I can’t wait to go back and read their story! And read as many of the books in this series as Meg Riley gives me!

Love this book, the couple was so sweet and showed so much growth. My full review will be on @mimigunnbooks. I look forward to reading more by this author. Love the side characters and the spice.

When I say I loved this book, I mean I absolutely adored Meg Riley's understanding of her female protagonist Spencer’s decision-making, influenced by trauma and the emphasis on keeping oneself safe from a romantic relationship. Spencer stands out as she seeks to break free from her family’s scripts, which adds an empowering and relatable touch to the story.
In the book, we follow the love story of Spencer and Grady. He falls first, but can Spencer feel safe enough to get into a relationship with Grady, or will she use her rules to keep herself protected? This keeps you hooked from start to finish, as it beautifully captures the internal struggle of opening up to love while wanting to maintain personal boundaries.
I'd like to thank NetGalley for providing a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

If you love friends with benefits and spice with a dual pov, you will LOVE this book. Spencer (the FMC) swore off relationships but is friends with benefits with a tattooed golden retriever MMC who says ALL the right things. He had me kicking my feet and all in my feels. I did find myself getting a little frustrated with Spencer just because she was so stubborn when it came to Grady (the MMC) and wouldn't give in to him. The book was beautifully written and I will absolutely be reading more of her books as she continues to publish them. This book was SO good I binged it in one sitting!
- sworn off relationships
- travel blogger dmc
- tattooed bar owner mmc
- friends with benefits
- no third act break up
- small town
- dual pov

I truly enjoyed this book ! My only gripe was the back and forth of will they be together or won’t they but other than that it was adorable and steamy !

I knew the moment that Grady doused himself in tomato sauce to make Spencer feel more comfortable about the stain on her shirt, that this was going to be my favourite type of story... One with a green flag guy!
Since meeting Spencer a year ago, Grady has not been able to take his mind off the women he had instant chemistry with. When Spencer returns to Heartwood it's on the terms she prefers... temporary. However, she feels an undeniable pull towards Grady, putting her boyfriend boycott in jeopardy.
This was a wonderful, feel good (and feeling spicy!) small town Romance. I appreciated the exploration of a character like Spencer who has fought hard to protect herself and her heart, softening for a man who deserves it. Grady was an absolute sweetheart and a walking green flag. The chemistry was excellent and the small town business owner versus the big corporations sub plot was engaging.
Thank you to Victory Editing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of "The Boyfriend Boycott"

I went into this book with zero expectations, but it ended up being a pleasant surprise. The highlight of the book is, for sure, Grady...what a man. His maturity and the way he delt with everything revolving their relationship was refreshing. He should be the standard for any man. The smalltown vibes were on point, which always makes a romance cozier. The only complaint I have is the lack of transitions between normal scenes and the smut ones, it kind of felt like they came out of nowhere; these transitions felt a bit rushed. Overall, it was a super cute romance! 3,75 stars

After falling for one-too-many of the same type of unreliable man, Spencer Sinclair has sworn off dating. Of course, this is when her travel influencer career lands her in the wholesome small town of Heartwood. Grady, a lifetime local and the owner of a bar in town, is determined to change her mind. The two can’t stay away from each other, made worse when Spencer turns Grady and his reputation in town into her own personal PR project to help her land a new job.
This small-town romance was really sweet! Our FMC Spencer has really gone through it, and we get to see her progress a lot as she processes her childhood trauma and learns to let people in. Of course, this also made her infuriating and stubborn which I honestly loved. The MMC Grady was perhaps a liiiiittle too perfect, but hey, our girl deserves the best.
The spice was HOT and dang do they love to get it on. No complaints from me, it was so fun.
The small town and all of the side characters were so endearing and really filled out the story. I had a great time with this book!
Thanks NetGalley & Meg Riley for the ARC!

Do you need a good romcom for your next read? Pick up The Boyfriend Boycott by Meg Riley. You’ll love it!

The Boyfriend Boycott is a slow burn, he fall first romance which starts as a friends with benefits agreement. Spencer is free spirited and doesn’t believe in relationships thanks mainly to her upbringing and Grady’s main role in his life is supporting his family and always putting others first. This heartfelt story with real characters and a supportive friendship group was a joy to read.

Let’s talk about Grady 🥵. This book was so GOOD! I devoured it in about 2 days.
•Grady and Spencer had only met once before and he couldn’t get her out of his mind. Then the travel influencer showed back up and he was going to do all he could to call her his. Except Spencer was not looking for love or anything else. Spencer made it very clear with “rules” that it was to be nothing more. They both helped each other grow and see their worth through the whole book. Whether it was through shopping, scrabble games, or big speeches.
This was such a fun and HOT read! I will definitely be buying it as a trophy for my shelf when it releases!

This book was promising, but it ended up feeling too long. The will they/wont they was cute at the beginning but it got repetitive.
