I was very disappointed in this novel. There are so many flashbacks in it that I lost count. And when the flashbacks end and the writer picks up on the Present Day, it doesn't coincide with the last scene before the flashback. Rather, the Present Day picks up where the flashbacks left off. I read 71% of the book and I just couldn't read another line of it. I threw up my hands, thoroughly disappointed, feeling like someone had slammed me against the wall. The flashbacks threw me out of the story and I was noticeably agitated. So much time poured into this read ... so much time.
I am so sorry I can't recommend this book. I really wish I had good things to say about it. I tried to stick with it in hopes that there would be something good to say. In the end, it just didn't work out.
Good editors are worth every dime you pay them. Please, hire one. You won't be sorry that you did.

I knew I would like this book from just meeting Harper and feeling both connected and caring for her. She was such a relatable and warm character and so in need of her own happiness. I felt her tiemline and journey were so true, written with such depth and feeling. It's like I cpild picture her it in my own mind so vividly.
And I was invested in her happy ending. Surely!?
I new who I desperately wanted her to find love with too. And was holding my breathe that this might not happen.
But even on that, with the plot and story told I knew i could oupd get on board with decisions made and why.
A lovely and deep read for me. Thumbs up for sure.

Harper is a fashion executive working her way back up after her ex-husband stole money from her. When she attends her best friend’s wedding her fame and success does not measure up to the life Sidney has. Harper still has thoughts of a high school love, Cameron, who Harper and Sidney knew a decade ago. Harper has tried to reach out but Cameron does not return her calls. I enjoyed the reflection of what makes for success and how to have a full life that is rewarding. I liked the way Cameron and Harper were able to think of the other person and how their life might look. Great story and characters.
