This was a very simple story, with a cute but simple concept. A pair of next door neighbors slowly fall in love with one another before getting together. There is also the entire thing of Nagi sleeping in the same bed with Yu while Yu is passed out drunk, and Nagi sneaking out before Yu ever wakes up which is...odd. But it's played as a cute romantic thing but I still think that's kind of weirdo behavior. There's also just nothing really to this story. It moves from pining to romance a bit too quickly for my taste. I just like a little bit more substance to characters or at least some more building of a relationship before it jumps to being in a committed relationship with [spice] scenes. The art was beautiful, and I did enjoy the character designs.

This BL manga was cute and fluffy, it had my heart doki doki! The typical neighbor to neighbor, then going to the same university is like meet cute but also love at first sight ^-^ I enjoyed that this wasn't super heavy on explicit or angst, fluffy and close door romance are a good start for anyone who wants this cozy kicking your feet BL.
The romance development was slow but subtle, once again, the sexual parts were minimalistic and very empathic for one another. I can't wait for the next installment of this author's work, thank you for this opportunity!

This was such an adorable and lighthearted read with minimal angst. I absolutely loved this first installment and all of the characters were very loveable. The art was wonderful and it's a perfect BL for those who prefer a more closed door approach when it comes to the intimacy scenes. I will happily continue reading this series.

This was cute, but kind of small. The story has been going on before the reader comes in, even if the flashback explains how it began. The men have already a set pattern in their relationship: Nagi pines after Yu and helps him home every time he passes out drunk after a student party, and then end up sleeping at his place because Yu wants to cuddle, but Yu doesn’t remember anything in the morning. Then one time Yu does remember, sort of, and both are embarrassed. But they talk it out, realise both like the other, and start dating. Everything is sweet, cute, and wholesome, with a hint of spice.

This is volume one, but it could be left at this. It’s low-stakes, no drama, and I don’t see how anything would change in following volumes. I’m happy where they end up.

This was overall cute, unobjectionable, but fairly tropey/not breaking much new ground, especially in the writing. I swear there were some pages of text that I've read, down to the exact words, in other BL series. On the positive side, I really liked the character designs and the way this artist illustrates clothing. Both MCs were very cute/attractive/looked like real people with a style. And hooray for "we confess and then we actually start dating," which I keep lauding but maybe just is much more common in BL nowadays as opposed to when I started reading it (aging myself here.)

Soft and fluffy BL manga with a mostly slice-of-life/university-life plotline. The art brings focus to on body language and facial expressions to convey how the characters are really feeling although the plot moves quickly towards them confessing their feelings for each other. Volume one has several fade-to-black scenes keeping the story focused on the fluffy romance aspects which I hope continues through the other volumes. I'll be on the lookout for the volume two ARC.

Super sweet story of two neighbors finding themselves falling in love.

Nagi and Yu are students at the same university and part of the same social group. Younger Nagi often finds himself tasked with getting Yu home when he's had a little too much to drink as they live next to each other. This leads to a friendship and then more.

The development is slow and mostly innocent in this version, at least for a time.

The story and art style is great for anyone interested in BL.

A very sweet sensitive BL about two young college boys who live next door and figure out “oh shit I’m in love with this guy”

This book captivated me from the very first pages with its effortless and engaging storytelling—I was hooked and couldn’t put it down! I absolutely loved the romance between the main characters.

This was a sweet bl. I enjoy reading stories of character figuring out their sexuality and there is an element of that in here. My only problem with it is that having such a nice ending I am not sure were volume 2 will go. That being said it's a good volume, but I may not continue the series.

Meh.

This was fine but nothing special. Typical yaoi but barely any real substance to the characters. And not even good smut.

Simple, cute, fluffy. Very quick boost of cozy queer joy to warm you in dark times. Not much in terms of plot or emotional character development arcs. But still, Nagi and Yuki are sweet and the focus is very much on the feels and not necessarily graphic smut, which was refreshing.

The title "Love on the Horizon" neatly captures the essence of the story: a freefall into attraction and sexual awakening, both of which sting so acutely that the word "love" is forced to bleed from slack lips. It's a beautifully drawn tale of youthful adoration, speckled with real-life woes like alcohol abuse and the limits of unspoken consent. While the surface gleams and lures the eye, true depth, with its twisted tensions, is indiscernible. But perhaps that was the aim all along: to varnish the horizon, allowing future additions to the story to chisel away at the superficiality of its sheen.

I felt a little iffy about the intro where one of the characters climbed into the other's bed while the other was drunk, but as we went back and saw he had invited him into his bed on similar nights before, I felt (mostly) better about it. It ended up being a really soft and sweet story about two neighbors who fall for each other. I'm undecided if I'll read the next volume because this one wraps up the story fairly well, and I'm not necessarily dying for more.

Few BL manga with the kind of emotional sincerity and soft, aching tension that *Love on the Horizon* delivers. This is my first read of this manga and this is the first volume. It offers a beautifully paced, slow-burn romance that pulls me into the heart of unspoken longing, self-doubt, and the bittersweet hope of a love that might just be within reach.

I chose to read this because I got intrigued by the cover and the fact that I am a BL connoisseur. But at its core, the story follows Nagi Kitagawa, an art university student with a shy demeanor and a deep, unwavering crush on his charismatic, Yuu Yamasaki. Nagi’s feelings are tender yet seemingly unattainable, after all, Saki is everything Nagi isn’t: popular, effortlessly charming, and seemingly out of reach. But what makes Love on the Horizon stand out is the way it captures the subtle, intimate moments that make falling in love feel both exhilarating and heartbreaking. The narrative doesn’t rely on grand confessions or dramatic gestures; instead, it leans into the quiet, unguarded interactions between the two characters like the night Yuu, in a drunken haze, unknowingly holds Nagi in his arms, leaving Nagi trapped between the reality of his feelings and the dreamlike possibility of something more.

The emotional pull of the story is undeniably strong. Nagi’s internal conflict is deeply relatable, making every stolen glance and hesitant touch resonate with an authenticity that BL fans will adore. The contrast between Nagi's innocent, almost self-deprecating perspective and Saki’s carefree yet enigmatic personality creates a dynamic that keeps me hooked. The manga masterfully balances moments of gentle humor, longing, and tension, ensuring that the stakes of their relationship feel high at every turn.

Visually, Love on the Horizon complements its narrative with delicate, expressive artwork that enhances the characters’ emotions. The soft linework and careful attention to body language make every interaction between Nagi and Saki feel intimate, whether it’s a casual exchange or an emotionally charged scene.

Love on the Horizon is more than just a sweet college romance but it’s a beautifully crafted story about longing, self-discovery, and the quiet possibility of love blooming when you least expect it. If you’re looking for a BL series that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you eager for more, this is one you won’t want to miss.

I loved this. It was so cute, and I cannot wait for the next instalment. Nagi and Saki are adorable together and I want only the best for them.

Love on the Horizon is a very cute bl manga! Nagi and Yuu’s relationship is very cute and I LOVE the art!! The only thing I didn’t love was the intro where Nagi is sharing a bed with Yuu without his knowledge. That’s a little gross, and I definitely think Yuu should know about that.
