Love on the Horizon 1 is a sweet and simple love story. It revolves around two university students and neighbours, art student Nagi Kitagawa and his sempai Yuu Yamasaki, and their journey to the discovery of love. I liked the characters and the story is quick but poignant. Moreover, the art is absolutely gorgeous. All in all, Love on the Horizon 1 is a feel-good, sweet story that I absolutely recommend.

Love on the Horizon vol.1: the plot revolves around Nagi and his upperclassman/neighbour Yuu. Cute and sweet type of narrative, what I enjoyed the most was Nagi’s angst towards Yuu’s feelings. Unfortunately that yearning feeling was shortened, imo they became a couple too quick.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for the ARC.

Kind of fluffy…easy to digest BL. There’s nothing crazy going on here, it’s just kind of cute. One volume is enough for me but I think if you were looking for something comforting and light this would be it.

This felt like a sugar rush! Simple and sweet. Absolutely adorable characters learning what it means to fall in love for the first time. I enjoyed how proximity played a role of tension in this story, and found the ending satisfying and cute. I also found the artwork to be extremely pleasing and fits gorgeously with the genre. I'm looking forward to seeing how both characters dynamics could build in the next volume.

I truly enjoyed 'Love on the Horizon 1.' It was such a delightful read! I absolutely adored the characters and the cozy atmosphere. Nagi and Yu make such a perfect couple, and I’m really looking forward to reading the next volume when it's released.

This was a sweet romance manga about two college students who are neighbors, friends, then boyfriends. It makes for a cozy read, perfect for a rainy day. Nagi's keeps getting asked to help bring his cute older neighbor Yuu home when he parties too hard -- and sometimes falls asleep alongside him. They spend more time together, Nagi feeling like Yuu must be stringing him along given how popular he is, but slowly realizes that his crush may just have feelings for him, too. I look forward to seeing what happens next!

3/5 stars!

Nothing to write home about, but still very sweet and enjoyable. A cute story to pass some time.

This Manga is a sweet and fluffy BL that just makes your heart warm. Nagi, a young university student, is absolutely smitten with the older boy next door. But as his friend and folk club senpai, Yu is off limits. Or so Nagi thinks, until Yu starts seeming a little more interested. I can't wait for volume 2, to see where life takes these two

Love On The Horizon 1 had the foundation of a sweet story. However, I found myself struggling with the story's heavy reliance on tropes that distracted from the romance. Shy university student Nagi Kitagawa was a "deer in headlights" upon meeting Yu Yamasaki, his senpai in the folk song club. Nagi was struck by Yu's beauty and his fun, outgoing personality. Nagi's crush was used as the foundation for all the coincidences in the plot.

1. Their friend circles mix (art students and musicians).
2. Nagi and Yu live in the same apartment complex/same floor.
3. Yu's hard drinking means Nagi ends up taking him home when he'd passed out.

The third point is where the story lost a lot of its charm for me. Not only does the story use alcohol as the excuse for these two being conveniently thrown together, sleeping in the bed, etc. But as alcohol left Yu unaware of what he did/said before he passed out, Nagi and Yu don't communicate for the majority of the story. They assumed everything based on alcohol-haze and lack of confidence. The long-awaited "confession" was marred by booze, which was disappointing.

What is there to love about Love On The Horizon 1? The post-confession period. Yu was charming as his determination to treat Nagi well made him live for someone other than himself. As for Nagi, hints of his maturity developing felt natural. Watching these two fall in love properly was kind of nice, if a little late.

I don't know where the story will go. While I wasn't swept away, I think the low stakes slice of life angle may appeal to others.

Thank you to Kodansha for this e-arc!! This BL story was so sweet and tender! I enjoyed that the two main characters are neighbors, it makes their relationship feel more intimate from the start. I like that they both felt uncertain at times instead of one always confident and the other shy — it’s a different dynamic. Overall, I would rate this 3.5 🌟

This is a lighthearted, cozy manga exploring the slow turn from neighbours and friends to romantic partners. These university students have lots of cute blushing moments that will bring a smile to your face.

so, tbh I red the first pages and was like "uhm meh" but then I red it all in one go.
it's a really comfortable and cozy first love experience between a popolar x introvert guys. I really appreciate the art style, more then the writing. I will continue the series to see if the choice of this volume being a first volume instead of a standalone make sense

Okkk, this is the cutest BL manga everrrr!
A freshman x senior, next door neighbours.
I read this one in about an hour.
The art is just lovely
Storyline is sweet, and cute where they met as next door neighbours, then friends and then slowly falling in love!
Such a cute, sweet story about queer romance

It looks like there is a next vol coming out which I am all for but I feel like 1 book would have been sufficient

I read this in one sitting last night as my bedtime book and really loved it! The artwork is fresh and pretty and the storyline is very sweet and easy to sink into. I'll be on the lookout for more from Yamashita. A "will put a smile on your face and give you butterflies" manga highlighting a delightfully queer and positive love story.

Cozy and cute! 🥰

The manga is about two boys falling in love with each other, but they believe the other does not feel the same.

The art style is very beautiful! The story focuses on their relationship, and I loved the slow burn; it was sweet and cute but not cheesy. The characters were very likable and grew on me. It felt like a comforting, cute, and cozy read!

First a BIG Thank You to NetGalley, the Author and the Publisher for this ARC.

Secondly, this is only semi-safe for work. Depending on your skin colour and how easily or hard you blush....

THIS IS THE CUTEST!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
I love this.
The characters are adorable.
And the light warning about the use of alcohol didn't go unnoticed. 😉
I did wonder where Kotaro (the dog) came from, but apparently Yu-san was at his families house and they have a dog. (think I kinda missed that somewhere... 🙈)

Personally, I liked the way it ended and I don't NEED a next volume. But I won't say no if they told me I can read the next volume.
Loved it.

Love on the Horizon is an sweet story about Nagi, a first-year at college who runs into a stranger, Yuu, on a rainy day and finds out that not only are they neighbours, but also attending the same college. Not only do the two hit it off, Nagi is often tasked with bringing Yuu back home after he gets drunk at their club gatherings, and over time, Nagi's feelings for Yuu build up.

This was such a cute story with the sweetest relationship between the shy Nagi and popular Yuu, and I loved not only the main couple but also the friends around them that provided a warm environment for their relationship to blossom. I can't wait to follow more of Nagi and Yuu's story! For the mangaka's first story, this definitely conveyed the fluffy feelings they aimed to achieve.

Thank you Netgalley and Kodansha for the review copy!

A short and sweet first look at the beginning of the relationship Yu and Nagi, neighbors who have a meet-cute in the rain outside of a nearby convenience shop. There's not much to it, but there's nothing here not to like. The final chapter and a bit of the post-chapter shorts do highlight certain ways in which this might not be the healthiest relationship, just because they might have gotten a little serious quite quickly and be a bit co-dependent. I'd be interested to see if subsequent volumes address that and show them growing.

Thanks to Netgalley for the eARC.
