This is a book written in several languages and describes the holiday of Holi. This is a good introduction for children and adults in learning about this important holiday, the theme of which would benefit everyone, regardless of religious practices.

Holi is about the begin, but Taran doesn't want to invite his classmates who were mean to him. His grandmother reminds him that Holika is all about letting go of negative emotions and celebrating with everyone. The book talks about Prasad and Hiranyakshyap, as well as Krishna and why everyone gets covered in bright colors.
The back of the book features longer explanations, activities, and a guide to the kinds of food served during Holi.

Our Holi, written by Aditi Wardhan Singh and illustrated by Suja Dinesh, is the second in the series of the Taran and Sejal celebration series, written in both English and Hindi. It features a child friendly explanation of what Holi is and why it is celebrated. It also includes the mythology, explanation of food and activities at the end of the book. I recommend this book for all who want to learn more about this festival, especially children in key stage 1 and lower key stage 2.

This book is so informative and has such wonderful messages of letting the bad things go and celebrating together. Growing up with a best friend who celebrated Holi and being honored to participate in the holiday, this book definitely brought back some nostalgia for me. I love that it is a bilingual as well, however I would love to see it printed in just each language as well, as unfortunately visually with the 3 translations it is rather cramped and overwhelming.

I received an electronic ARC from RAISING WORLD CHILDREN LLC through NetGalley.
The second book in this series. Taran and his family prepare for and celebrate Holi. They invite their neighbors to join and everyone enjoys the time together. However, Taran did not want to include a couple friends who hurt his feelings earlier. His sister and parents remind him of why they celebrate Holi and he learns how much forgiveness adds value and peace to life. The book is told in Hindi and English. Singh adds myths and activities at the end to continue the celebration and learning.
