A billionaire, a shy young woman, a helicopter crash, stranded in a snow storm on top of a mountain…..you have to admit that sounds like a great plot.
Suddenly Tempted is a cute romance with engaging characters. The story revolves around Darcy and Devlin. They are complete opposites in every way. When they are unexpectedly thrown together, they have to figure how to overcome all odds sent their way.
Can they overcome their own personal struggles?
Can they help each other find happiness?
There are some steamy moments that adds some spice to the story……
I really enjoyed reading this forced-proximity romcom. Was there parts of it that were a bit cringe worthy? Yes, there were. But, the overall story was a fun read that I would recommend to others.
Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I think I say this every time... but I wasn't sure what to expect from this indie read of Suddenly Tempted by Katie Evergreen.
Newsflash! I loved it!👉🏻👈🏻
By the end of this story, I was kicking my feet, absolutely elated with how everything turned out.
Evergreen does a great job of writing a strong, yet sensitive female FMC. Darcy is headstrong but has a soft side, and I loved seeing that balance play out.
Dalton, our grumpy billionaire, is the perfect contrast to her, and their dynamic kept me hooked. The characters really bring out the best and worst in each other—but in true romance fashion, the good outweighs the bad, and we get that satisfying happy ending.
One of my favorite aspects was how the characters helped each other grow. Dalton learns to thaw out his frozen heart, and Darcy learns to let go and actually live a little.
Their journey together had so many standout moments—from fiery arguments to passionate reconciliations to some genuinely tear-jerking scenes.
And the ending? Adorable. No spoilers, but let’s just say I had BIG heart eyes. We live for that epilogue! 🥹
That said, the book had a touch too much cheesiness at times. The inner monologues occasionally felt repetitive, like when the thoughts of the MMC are revealed as "...it wouldn't hurt to see the owner of the voice he'd heard... Something about it wouldn't leave his head" right after getting off the phone with her... Sir, it’s been one minute. Give it a sec!
Even with those little moments, the story was so cute overall. It took me a little time to fully get into it, but once I did, I was hooked. I stayed up well into the night just to finish—itching to get back to it, which is when you know it’s good.
I’m so happy I had the opportunity to dive into Evergreen’s work and can’t wait for the next book! If you're looking for a semi-quick read that feels like an adventurous Hallmark movie, then look no further. Pick this one up on March 18th!

Thank you Joffe Books/Choc Lit and Netgalley for the e-ARC this book.
Suddenly Tempted by Katie Evergreen is a forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers, first book in the Apex Billionaire’s Club Series.
Devlin Storm is a rude, billionaire fashion designer who loves extreme sports. Darcy Wainwright is an American living in Europe, working as a hotel receptionist while avoiding anything dangerous. Darcy and Devlin end up stuck together after a helicopter crash in the mountains, forced to work together to survive the elements. I enjoyed the character development and adventure elements of the story, however the falling in love after 3 days was just too much for me. I also did not like the ex girlfriend storyline near the end of the book. It just added too much drama. I think there were definite highlights, but overall, the book missed the mark for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book before release.

This book was okay. It was very repetitive at times and I didn’t really love the characters. They didn’t really have fleshed out personalities so it was hard to care about them.
Also, saying it has “plenty of spice” and is perfect for Hannah Grace fans will leave a lot of people disappointed.

I was honestly taken aback by how the story kicked off with a helicopter crash. It was so intense right from the start, and the characters had no choice but to rely on each other to survive. What I really enjoyed was how they started off as enemies but slowly became friends—and then something more. The way their relationship developed felt really natural, and you could see them learning to trust and support each other in ways they never expected.
Even though the guy was a billionaire, he wasn’t immune to having his own issues. The interesting part was that it was the girl who ended up saving him in so many ways, both physically and emotionally. It wasn’t just about her helping him through the tough situations; she also helped him confront things he hadn’t been able to face on his own. It made their connection feel real and heartfelt, and by the end, it wasn’t just a love story—it was about two people growing together and helping each other heal.

2 stars.
This book sounded fun. A bit of mountain survival, yes please!
Unfortunately this book was a disappointment for me. First of all the story happened in a very short period of time, and the main characters said iloveyous so quickly (maybe 75% but that means a couple of days in this book). So the pacing was a bit off. I skimmed the last 20% because I was annoyed by the ex's appearance. Extra drama that felt a bit loose. I didn't care very much for the characters, MMC was a bit jerk at least in the beginning, and FMC was pretty uninteresting.
WHAT I LIKED: The survival theme
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE: The pacing was off. The whole story was quite unconvincing.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Pov: dual, 1st person
Heat: open doors
Pacing: instalove, everything happens very quickly
Communication: miscommunication
Third act: external crisis
Ending: I guess it's technically HEA?
Main characters:
* Enemies to lovers
* Grumpy - sunshine
* Millionaire
* Opposites attract
What?
* Forced proximity
Where?
* In the mountains in Swizerland
Drama?
* Difficult past
* MMC's ex is there causing drama
Other vibes:
* Survival

I’m not entirely sure what I was expecting from this book but I found that the chemistry between the characters wasn’t even so much the issue as it was difficult to understand why either was truly the way they were…I found Devlin’s whole “my ex taught me to shut off the world” kinda incongruent with his grief or his relationship w his Mom at all really ? and Darcy was just giving nothing but anxious expositing and then suddenly she was empathizing for someone who was like by all counts, still an irredeemable jerk, at least to her?
I did enjoy the pacing bc it made it not difficult to keep reading but there wasn’t much else that held my interest
Thank you to Netgalley & Choc Lit for this ARC to review!

I just finished an exciting new romance book. Suddenly Tempted by Katie Evergreen was a good one! Pick this one up!

ARC REVIEW
Adorable book because of the FL. The reasoning behind the ML being a big dbag was so dumb. I mean, how do you expect a ML to be a Billionaire when he was dumb enough to fall for insane manipulations like that? The writing was as good as could be given the premise so kudos.

*Spoilers Below*!
This book was quite “mid” to me. I enjoyed the whole “happenstance” of the first 75% of the book. The setting, the drama, the character dialogue was all very engaging. I did have to suspend a bit of belief regarding their whole survival storyline, as I did feel it was a bit wild, but I found the adventure of that portion all super interesting. What really dropped my opinion on this book was from approx 75% onwards- essentially from their point of rescue. Here is where the timeline fell apart and became insta love. Im sorry but I just cannot believe that these two people from completely different lives who had NEVER met before fell straight into love with each other after what 2-3 nights? Most of that while they were in sheer adrenaline/survival mode? And then just 8 months later changed their whole lives up and also got married?? I honestly think I would have preferred the happenstance/survival timeline, no profession of love, and just have them come back and start dating each other and end it there. Or have the epilogue WAY later into the future. Not to mention these characters both had their own hangups that, let’s be real, should not be solved overnight but were in this book/timeline. I mean when I reflect upon it all, I think the whole book took place over the course of 7-10 days MAX, with an 8 month later epilogue. It was just too farfetched.
I did feel that there was good potential here in regards to characters, development, and the story line idea! For example, the amount of times i got SO mad at the MMC in the start for his sheer arrogance is a great example of how these characters are well written and portrayed by the author. Its just that the ending wrapped up in such an accelerated manner, I could not get over it.
Tropes:
-Billionaire MMC
-Forced proximity
-Adventure/Survival
