A survivalist doomsday prepper kidnaps a sixteen year old child.
It's an intense read, and not quite what I was expecting. Thought provoking at least.

I don't know if this is because this is not the type of book that I normally go for or if it was just bad. At first, I couldn't imagine the setting as it all just felt very off and unconnecting and then my main problem was Blythe herself. She just didn't feel real. Once I had checked around on the internet for the actual setting of this book (a modern day Kansas) I began to read again but my opinion of Blythe just didn't change and I couldn't connect to this rather strange and old fashioned character. My lack of interest in the character is what drove me to give up.
