I was disappointed that I did not enjoy this book more. I was eager to read it since I like books about time travel. When A girl (Nic) goes on a field trip to the Fancy Fair, she ends up traveling back in time 150 years prior. Interested in magic, she is thrilled to meet a famous magician (Nick) and learn some magic tricks. When they find out that many children have been kidnapped in this time period (including Nick's brother), they set out to solve the mystery. What they discover is part creepy and disturbing. The book really revolves around this one plot point as they travel throughout the city to solve and resolve this mystery. This book felt flat to me. Since I was reading it for a book challenge, I decided to finish it. But if not, I would have put it down.
