Having read many of this authors books I knew exactly what I was letting myself in for.

Tammy is a sand artist and meets Ruan, a solicitor overlooking the bay in Cornwall. It is a love story and they fall for each other almost instantly. However, fate has other things in mind and they are soon embroiled in secrets and lies, some ancient and some brand new. There is the “will they won’t they” element to the story that we all know and love.

This author creates characters who you can identify with and a few unsavoury ones as well as this is not a fairytale. She is incredible with her descriptions and you can almost hear the waves lapping and the seagulls cawing in the wind.

A perfect summer read

A wonderful trip to Cornwall and another warm hearted tale from Phillipa Ashley. All the perfect ingredients for an escapist holiday read, leaving you feeling good!
Tammy is a sand artist based in a seaside village in Cornwall, she has her friends but her father has recently died and her mum is estranged in Scotland so she is feeling a little lost and cut off. After completing a tribute to her dad on the local beach with sand artist she meets Ruan who has moved down from Bristol. Can she take a chance with Ruan and make her future? Will the local festival Oceanfest embrace her art?
Loved this latest book based in Cornwall and the local music festival that is known as Glastonbury-on-sea. As always great characters, easy to read and get swept along with writing and feel good tale with quite a few twists and turns not always expected!
Hugely enjoyed and recommend for this summer!

Set in beautiful Cornwall, this is a carefully woven story that pulls at your heartstrings. It combines a quest, secrets, and romance. I couldn't put my book down.

Tammy did not have the best childhood in Cornwall, but she has some good memories. This book is deep and has alot of layers to it. I really like Tammy, and Cornwall.

When I received an email inviting me to read Phillipa Ashley’s new, upcoming novel I was beyond excited!! I’m a huge fan, so felt really honoured to get an ARC!

You’re always guaranteed a good story when it comes to Philippa Ashley and this one does not disappoint.

The story is set in beautiful Cornwall and the protagonist, Tammy is a sand artist, who has been really let down in the past. Tammy meets Ruan at the beach and thinks she may actually be able to trust him and he could possibly ‘be the one’ that is, until she discovers his secret and what a bomb shell that is!

With likeable characters in a beautiful setting that makes you want to run to Cornwall, this is a perfect holiday read!

Set in beautiful South West Cornwall, this is an excellent summer read, ticking all the right boxes. As ever with this genre and author, you can be fairly sure from the start of a happy outcome, but Phillipa Ashley has added a few unexpected twists and turns on the way. On top of this she has introduced some well drawn characters who who have a, sometimes humorous, supporting role in Tammy and Ruan's story.
Tammy is a sand artist, her beautiful creations being washed a way with each high tide. Ruan is a lawyer recently moved from Bristol. They are attracted to each other right from the start and the book tracks their developing relationship through a a memorable Cornish summer.

Tammy lives in the harbour town of Porthmellow, she spends her days creating sand sculptures. On the anniversary of her fathers death she is creating a sunrise in the sand when her eyes are drawn to a gorgeous guy in a suit, not your normal beach attire.
Turns out Ruan and Tammy have more in common than expected but she is determined to protect herself from more heartache so keeps him at a distance.
Ruan, a solicitor has a secret which he's kept from Tammy, when she discovers it, everything about her past begins to unravel.

This was so well written, Tammy went through so much, the mysterious death of her father, the loss of her family home at her fathers hands and her mother abandoning her. The description of this Cornish town is so reminiscent of family holidays, it truly brings to story to life.
Tammy is such a caring woman, she deserves to be so happy and its clear the connection she feels with Ruan.
Ruan holds his own secrets but they its obvious its to protect Tammy, he's trying to work out what he wants for his own future, piece together the secrets of Seaspray.
I really enjoyed dynamics of their relationship, it felt very true to life and believable.

Another easy read from Philliipa Ashly, the queen of Cornwall fiction.

I liked the charactors, a lot of previous reviews say that Tammy isn't likabale, which I do disagree with - she's going through a tough few years and is at the end trying to pull everthting together. Sometimes you get someone that shakes your life up, and I think the journey of the book was about this. Ruan was geniune person who was thinking about the whole picture, yes things could of been easilt solved by better communication, but tell me isn't that the case with life generally?

An enjoyable beach read, another gem to Phillipa's crown.

I struggled with this one unfortunately. The description of the Cornish Harbour town was wonderful,

The premise for the story was promising and I was expecting to love it, however I just couldn't warm to Tammy the FMC. She cam across an entitled brat who doesn't take into account anyone's feeling but her own, and woe betide those who don't put her in the centre of their worlds. Or in the case of Ruan, even if they do it isn't good enough. The book wrapped up tidily enough but by then I wasn't invested in a HEA.

Always love books by Philipa Ashley and this one was no exception! Philipa is wonderful at crafting her characters into wonderful and very likeable characters and they way she describes Cornwall makes you want to put it on your bucketlist.

When Tammy and Ruan met by chance after he admires her sand art, it is the start of what looks like a wonderful Cornish summer together. However, when Tammy finds out Ruan holds one of the keys to her past she is torn between a yes or a no to spending more time with him. Together they embark on a journey looking for answers to find their HIA.

A lovely gentle and mostly calm story, by no means banal just nothing shocking or disturbing .
Obviously set in Cornwall and is both evocative and praiseworthy of this beautiful rugged County.
This would make a brilliant holiday read. Full of sea, sand and..... well definitely lots of sand really, as you will find out when you read this perfectly penned book.

What a fabulous read. A romance following the story of two main characters, with ups and downs. Very well written and the story kept me gripped from page one. Highly recommended. I will certainly read more by this author. I was lucky enough to receive an advance reader copy and leave this review voluntarily.

One Cornish Summer With You by Phillipa Ashley, @penguinukbooks and a NetGalley review. Tammy loved growing up in a little harbour town in Cornwall, however life didn’t take easier or happiest path. Now Tammy creates sand art, thinking she had come to terms with everything that happened in the last, until Ruan appears and shakes everything up. I love this author for so many reasons and this book is a great example of those reasons. The author always writes beautifully about Cornwall (despite not living in the county), she writes with passion and pride about Cornwall and her love for the county is clear in every page. Tammy is the main character in this story, she’s independent, talented, fearless in many ways, yet vulnerable and real; she doesn’t always get life right but she’s hurting and there’s things that happened in her past that she thought she had dealt with but clearly hadn’t. I love that the author (@phillipa.ashleyauthor ) chose a Cornish name for the male character Ruan and although the harbour the story is set in is fictional, her descriptions and writing feel authentically Cornish. For example Tammy is doing her Sand Art at a local music festival, and although the author doesn’t say it very much sounds like Tunes in the dunes at Perranporth. This is a perfect summer read, it’s a very easy read and although it’s predictable in places, it’s still got that will they won’t feel and your not sure what secrets will pop up next. This is the perfect escapism read, an easy page turner one I enjoyed from start to finish and I can’t recomend this book or author enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just the book to escape into! A delicious, feel good novel with wonderful characters set in Cornwall. Friendships, relationships and past histories all come into play.

Loved the main characters. Feisty, prickly Tammy and sensitive Ruan.
Easy to see how misunderstandings can ruin relationships, is honesty always the best policy ?

Yet another fabulous read from Philippa Ashley – who has firmly become a must buy purchase for me. I was thrilled to receive this early copy!

It’s the story of Tammy and Ruan who met by chance but quickly discovered their lives were linked in unexpected ways – all set in the beautiful backdrop of Cornwall.

This story grabbed me from the first page and I raced through it in a couple of days. Perfect spring/summer book to enjoy on the longer, lighter days ahead.

Set in the beautiful Cornish coastline Phillipa brings another beautifully written story about Tammy, a girl with series sand artist talent and Ruan, a lawyer who meet in unexpected ways. I enjoyed reading their story that is engaging, unputdownable and one I finished in a afternoon unusually. Can't wait for the next book from this must read author.

Tammy is a sand artist who has always lived in the area, Ruan is a lawyer who has relocated... It's a typical kind of story with more than its fair share of plot twists!

This one wasn't as charming for me as Ashley's books usually are; I did find that by the end I was desperate to find out what happened but I felt like too much was being shoehorned in at the beginning. That being said, it was still an enjoyable read and if you like her books, you'll probably like this one!
