The book wasn't for me. It had a good premise but the writing style was a bit mixed for me. It's also closed door which nah

The cutest, coziest magical romantic comedy. Fall into a world of magic with a chaotic little witch of Wallstreet named Mariam who is a powerhouse of a FMC, and the cutest cinnamon roll with dark hair, blue eyes, tall, and a bit of a golden boy, named Nelson on quite a wild adventure all over New York City while falling in love.
A sweet little witchy rom-com that will having you swooning, and head over heels for Nelson Copperfield.
This book was written so well, made me want to keep reading and find out where they were off to next.
Frenemies to lovers but Nelson had always been smitten with Mariam.
Get ready to fall in love with these hummingbirds..IYKYK.

I really wanted to love this book. The premise of a modern/urban cozy witch romance is incredible and I love a rivals to lovers trope. The social commentary aspects and ethical dilemma that Miriam faces are fantastic and really what kept me going as I read. Unfortunately, I struggled with the pacing and the way that a number of the characters’ actions were over-explained (or in one situation very under-explained). It started off slow with a lot of explanations about magic while the FMC is going about her daily life, that felt like they could have been inserted more organically into a faster moving plot or interactions with other characters. The choice the main characters made to sleep with each other also felt very uncharacteristic and like it came out of nowhere after the FMC had just described trying to avoid the MMC perhaps an hour before and with no real conversation or flirting that would lead to a change of heart. I think this book has a lot of incredible potential but needs some fine tuning before I feel like I could really recommend it.

Loved this book. It was such a fun and whimsical read. I loved that there was so many elements happening all at once which emphasised the FMC's chaotic self and yet it never felt overwhelming, every little thing was there for a reason and things became more clear bit by bit. Personality wise, I could very heavily relate to the FMC so I absolutely loved her. I also love the fact that she is a strong independent woman but also love her character progression throughout as she really went on a journey. I adored the MMC, he gives off such golden retriever energy and is just the cutest. He makes the reader feel all warm and fuzzy with the way he acts and the small gestures that every person deserves to receive in life. The twists and turns are just so brilliantly written and you need to know what happens next. You feel engaged throughout and this book will have you laughing, crying, happy, sad, mad and I loved every second of it.

Unfortunately I was unable to read this book, the file that I got was impossible to read. If you can send mean uncorrected file I’ll read it!

This was such a fun read. Miriam as a character was really enjoyable. I’m a woman who works in a male dominated field, so I understand the struggle of being taken seriously. I found that aspect of the story very relatable.
Nelson is a such a golden retriever boy and I love it ! I also really appreciate the communication between these two as they figured out their relationship and feelings. No third act break up !
The magical scavenger hunt for their objects was just so fun.
I think if you’re looking for an easy read with magic and romance this is definitely for you.

A fun and magical read for sure. I really loved the strong social justice and community service themes throughout especially. I also really loved that this book was like a Percy Jackson book where the main characters are on a quest and travel from place to place facing new and magical problems. I always think to myself when reading a middle grade or young adult adventure book that I wonder why there aren't books for adults like this and here I got to read one!
The spice level is pretty low and grows over the duration of the book through each interaction the Miriam and Nelson have which is a new one to me. I didn't mind that at all that as their relationship grew you got more details. They seemed oddly matched but in that opposites attract way in that they compliment each other and balance each other out. I was sometimes frustrated with Miriam with her I'm so independent, I don't want anyone and all that, I will admit. She seemed to be lonely and looking for something more and Nelson definitely was ready to give her more.
Definitely enjoyed this read and would read more in this world if the author were to revisit it someday. I would love to see how they work out in the long run or a story from one of her friends' perspectives.
I received an early digital copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Miriam, our protagonist, is a young witch with chaos magic who faces an ethical and moral dilemma: agree to lead the team that manages an important account, which could earn her a pass to become the new partner and in the process, derail a nonprofit that was providing free housing in a city where housing was nearly impossible to secure.
On the other hand, Nelson is the executive director of Housing Magic, the organization that wants to buy that same property to develop a housing complex for the homeless.
From this premise, The Witch of Wall Street develops, a book that captivates from the moment you see its beautiful cover, with characters whose stories are defined in a prologue that leaves the reader hooked and a plot worthy of a Hallmark romcom.
The Witch of Wall Street is an excellent novel: very interesting, fast-paced, and well-written, which addresses social issues such as the housing shortage, work for ex-convicts, and drug addiction, from the perspective of a social worker.
I thank the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book and spend a couple of almost sleepless nights.
The opinion I have expressed above is based solely on what I think and feel about this book.

This was such a cute read. I love the dynamic between Miriam and Nolan so much. Rivals forced to team up and take on Chaos Magic? Yes please! The story is easy to follow and filled with lots of interesting twist and turns that never leave you bored. This is a nice quick read and perfect for a rainy weekend.

A novel read with a slightly quirky vibe when what was supposed to be a simple one-night stand between two former high school rivals finds them embarking on a rollocking quest across New York to recover certain magical items that have disappeared.
I loved the concept of this book. The overall story was fast paced and humorous as a pair of one time enemies gallivant all over the city in search of their missing belongings, having adventures and meeting quirky characters along the way but at times The Witch of Wall Street did feel a bit preachy in parts especially the lack of social housing which I know was a part of the story with the hero Nelson being a social worker and which in turn led to Miriam facing a morale dilemma over her heart or her career. When it came to the hero and heroine, they were complete opposites, the only thing Miriam and Nelson had in common was that they were both witches, although in Miriam’s case chaos followed her around despite her high-flying career in finance – no puns about broomsticks please! In comparison Nelson was a bit of a golden retriever type hero and although his intentions were good and his heart was in the right place, if I’m being honest, he was a bit boring…. where’s a wizardly bad boy like Lord Voldemort when you need him. But somehow, he made Miriam see there was more to life than work, while she shook him out of his routine.

It can be a thin line between romance as escapism and romance novels which represent the world that we live in. I think The Witch of Wall Street walks a great line between the two. Miriam is a banker witch, working to prove herself in banking and finance. Her high school nemesis Nelson is the executive director at Housing Magic, a housing first non profit. When the two reconnect at a fundraiser, sparks fly....only for the two of them to lose magical items and be forced to spend time together while they work to get their magic back.
The lack of affordable housing and the housing first policy are incredibly topical right now, and by putting it in a magic context, it kept the book from being too heavy. I also loved that the book used magic from a variety of cultures and contexts. Mariam and Nelson are of Jewish heritage (Jewish magical heritage), but the book touches on other magic, including one memorable one at a Chinese restaurant (don't read that scene hungry).
I also really enjoyed the relationship between the two and how they communicated. At one point in the story, I was sure a disagreement over their jobs would lead to an explosive fight, but the two characters handled it with grace and maturity, which was really a lovely mature departure from many romance novel tropes.
This book is for anyone who enjoys cozy paranormal romance like April Asher or Sarah Beth Durst.

Thank you @mjetkindauthor for my ARC!
This magical read was delightful. The characters were so much fun! Miriam is the witch of Wall Street and chaos magic. Nelson is a wizard of small miracles, and a social worker. She’s chaotic. He’s calm. And they balance each other perfectly. When her broom runs away with his magical medallion, they run all over the city to find them. Along the way, they have several mishaps, but they find themselves along the way. I enjoyed Miriam’s journey as she learns to embrace her chaos magic. Overall this was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it!

The Witch Of Wall Street was a cute and fun read! I have to say my favorite part was Larry, the chunky cat 🐈 The FMC and MMC were both enjoyable and likeable. The author included that they were both Jewish and spoke about their heritage and family members who had immigrated to the United States which was a nice little touch, especially the way it all wraps up in the end.
The beginning of this book was a little slow, and kind of felt redundant with how many times they were in search of their items. However, once I got through about 100-150 pages I quickly finished the ending chapters. I would love another book that addresses their trip mentioned in the end of the book to learn more about their families
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC!

It was a cute quick read. I loved that witches had different magic and that Miriam had to learn to accept what hers was. I do wish that there was more of an explanation for why Miriam’s map brought them to each location other than it having a lot of magic and why couldn’t they at least research the locations better before going.
Will also be posting a review on TikTok later today.

The Witch of Wall Street is a whimsical mix of a fun quest, a budding romance, and an internal struggle between doing a job well or doing good in the world. I loved Miriam’s transformation as she learned her chaos magic isn’t such a bad thing, and I loved that she increasingly came to understand the magical power of community. I also appreciated that real issues like housing insecurity, finding employment after prison, and overcoming drug addiction were covered, and it wasn’t just a surface-level romance.

The book follows Miriam and Nelson previously high school rivals. After running into each other at a work function a one night stand leads them on adventure when Miriam’s broom and Nelson’s medallion run off together.
I had high hopes for this book but sadly this wasn’t the book for me. What I did love was the MMC Nelson and his desire to help others. The author did a great job of explaining heavy topics such as homelessness and addiction. The topic was delivered delicately while also providing a realistic account.
I had a hard time with the repetitiveness of the chapters. There was a lot of unnecessary information that didn’t relate to the story. It got to a point where I had to skim-read to get to the main points or I was going to DNF.
The trope was supposed to be an enemies-to-lovers trope but it was one-sided (by the FMC) and there was no real reason for them to be enemies. I did not enjoy Miriam as the FMC. Miriam was extremely selfish and self-absorbed when it came to Nelson and her friends.

This was a well-written, entertaining book. It was fun, sweet, zany and kept me reading. I enjoyed this book and will look for more books by this author.

Witchy book with a cat... say no more! Larry should obviously have his own book.... Miriam was such a fun character to follow. I was so excited to see how witches in New York would work and boy did it work. This book was so awesome, I couldn't put it down.

Miriam is a witch living in modern day NYC. She has a big investment banking job & a fancy Manhattan apartment, where she lives with Larry (her cat furbaby). In this world of witches, each witch has a specific type of magic, & Miriam’s is called “chaos magic” - which is exactly what it sounds like. Miriam is not always in complete control, which often leads her into some chaotic situations. It was one of these moments that led her to somehow needing to work together with her childhood nemesis, Nelson, on a quest to find some of their missing magical items. But the more time she spends with Nelson, the more she realizes that maybe she’s been wrong about him all of these years…& the more she learns about Nelson’s noble career, maybe she’s been wrong about the morality of her current cutthroat Wall Street career.
This story was super cute! Miriam & Nelson are characters with a great backstory, chemistry, & connection. At first I wasn’t sure how the witches in New York fantasy element would translate, but I loved the way the author did it! It centered more around the magic than the typical everyday life, which I enjoyed. Highly recommend giving this one a try!

**Thank you to the Author and NetGalley for the ARC of The Witch of Wall Street; all opinions are my own.**

If you like contemporary romance but need some magic, look no further!! 🥰 The two MCs are childhood frenemies who discover in adulthood, when reunited, that their jobs pit them against each other. When the FMCs chaos magic goes on the fritz, the two of them must work together to retrieve their missing magic items. But she never thought she'd start falling for the man she thought she hated in high-school-- only to find that their rivalry was one sided all along. Though not my usual cup of tea, I found this novel to be sweet and a good reflection of real life relationships between love, friends, job, and family.
