I do not regret reading this book, and do think it could easily be a 4+ with some fine tuning of the plot and FMC.The Witch of Wall Street is a perfectly fine book to read.

While it has a fun story line it could be tuned up to be engaging and captivating. Instead it kind of meanders along without punch.

The secondary cast of characters are lovely and vivid. They provoke strong responses varying from dislike to affection. The side characters can’t make up for the FMC though. Miriam was a boss lady who tried to come off as a feminist but was really a self centered hyper independent pick me. It was hard to read her perspective at times and took away from a promising plot. While she had growth it was glossed over.

This was such a cute book! I will say I initially had a hard time getting into the story, but things eventually started picking up and I couldn’t wait to find out what trouble Miriam and Nelson were going to get themselves into. I totally related to Miriam’s personality. Her magic is chaotic, but she’s also kind of a perfectionist, which I get. Nelson is sweet, but I can see why Miriam was annoyed by him in school. He’s got this altruistic vibe which can come off as conceited, but it’s always meant with good intention.😂 I would say the spice is like PG-13. There are intimate scenes, but the majority of them fade to black. ✨Overall, such a fun, magical read!✨

I so enjoyed this book. It had a cute and original plot line and the characters are awesome. I also really like the witches in the real world (if you exist, please reveal yourselves to me). I would definitely read more of this.

This was a fun, witchy, and cozy read for a cold winter night. If you are looking for a quick and fun read then this is the book for you.

A cute story about two (semi-childhood-rivals) witches coming together as adults to overcome challenges and find lost, all leading to love. There were times I found myself struggling to pay attention but overall it was a cute read.

We follow Miriam who is a witch, part of a financial team. Nelson has been her rival since high school, and is a wizard that focuses on miracles and good deeds. Great witchy romcom!

The Witch of Wall Street is a cute, cozy fantasy with witches and magic woven into the corporate world. Add tropes like he falls first, golden energy, enemies to lovers, etc., and you have a pretty typical fantasy rom. What sets it apart is its world-building and the characters. One character’s magic is chaotic while the other is very controlled, and they have to work together for a common purpose while navigating the opposites-attract pitfalls our long-time rivals encounter.

Although this story has a fast-paced plot, the pace of the overall story is enjoyable and engaging.

This is a really sweet witchy rom com that avoids a lot of the cliches (small town, FMC with a big family yearning for independence) by setting the story in the finance world of New York, focusing on a successful businesswoman longing instead for community! To begin with, I found the writing a little simplistic, but I was quickly drawn into the developing romance between the leads. I loved the matter-of-fact Jewish rep, which was built in seamlessly to both leads' backgrounds and thoughts, and the multi-cultural magic of New York was a real treat too. Overall, this was a lovely read!

3.5 Stars for this cute and whimsical love story. I liked the cozy, chaotic elements of the story and felt the characters were quite relatable. I work in a male dominated field, so I can relate to many of her struggles.

I had high hopes for this book and while it started pretty slow, I’m happy I stuck with it. The story did feel pretty repetitive at times and I definitely think it could have used a good edit to cut down some of the fluff. After I got through the initial slow start it was easy to finish.

I also feel that the author hasn’t really mastered show-don’t-tell; every little thought was explained when the reader could easily understand and come to a conclusion (especially when discussing capitalism and morally gray areas Miriam and Nelson discussed). It felt a little like a classroom lecture rather than actual conversations educated people would have. Miriam and Nelson were clearly both intelligent, so I didn’t really feel the need to explain every little thing unless the author really believes her readers need it explained to them.

Miriam and Nelson were good characters and I felt like I understood them, but I did get frustrated with Miriam disliking him so much in the beginning. Why did she hate him so much in school? I feel like she was really misinterpreting his kindness, which maybe would he understandable if he was more smug, but I just think that wasn’t fleshed out enough.

Overall, I thought it was a sweet and fun book and I would recommend if someone wanted an easy read.

Miriam is an investment banker witch working on a giant, life changing morally grey (at best) deal at work. Nelson is the witch managing the nonprofit that will suffer. He's also her high school rival. After one night together, they end up on a quest that takes them all over the place.

I LOVED the magic - Miriam's chaos and Nelson's small miracles. I enjoyed Miriam's acceptance of her magic.

I love books about witches, and this was no exception. It was so different than any others that I've read before - I absolutely recommend it!

This book was cute and genuinely I enjoyed reading it, but it kind of came across as very overwrought with trying to tackle so many societal issues within such a whimsical and cozy romance. It almost seems like the author felt guilty setting her story within a city that does have such depth of experience, and tried to acknowledge and address every shortcoming of society, while doing this romp around a city. I think that she would have been much more successful if she kept her narrative to addressing the issues in society that interact directly with her characters instead of pushing so many agendas that the story gets lost in the mix. Also, this seemed like a missed opportunity to use the magic of a city like New York to bring a grounded beauty to her world building and their romance. Overall, not a bad read, but it was slow on the pick up and I never felt I could get fully lost in the book.

Cute and chaotic! I enjoyed that while a romance, this story took on capitalism and corporate greed in a mostly lighthearted unassuming way. Miriam is a successful independent woman and I enjoyed her realization that she could still be all those things while allowing herself to ask for help from those around her when things are too much for one person.

I was honestly expecting the romance to be more muted, and not as "horny". Yes they are both consenting adults and can do what they want, but in some scenarios it was very abrupt like you turned on a horny switch mid sentence.
The magic and backstory of the characters were well thought out and it was very fun to quest around for their missing items and learn more about their past and what magical creatures or people hide in the open.

Miriam - an investment banker in NYC - lands the lead on a high stakes project. Sealing the deal would be life changing for her and her parents, but the moral dilemma presses on her mind. She attends a fundraising event and runs into a childhood aquaintance, Nelson, who also happens to be leading the non-profit that her project will affect. After spending the evening together, her broomstick and his magical taxi medallion go missing, along with her bag containing the confidential project information.

Reluctantly, they team up to find their things.

The pair go on a series of magical adventures in the search for their missing items, and run into several magical mishaps.

Will Miriam's chaos magic, and confusing feelings for her "high school nemesis" get in the way of her closing this deal? Will she learn new things about her city and have a change of heart? Or will Miriam decide to girl boss her way to the top ignoring morality and romance?

I thought this was a really fun reading. As a woman in finance, I loved to see Miriam and Hannah and the other Witches of Wall Street.
I can totally relate to her feeling of being left behind with her friends being in different phases of life.
I thought it was really sweet to learn Nelson's perspective of Miriam & his motive for helping her. Which Miriam has always sees as annoying or judging.

This story has sweet moments, funny moments, sad moments, and nerve-wracking moments. Overall I definitely recommend it, if you like a good witchy, magical realism, forced proximity & reluctant ally story!

I DNF'd this book at 41% (103/329 pages). While I was initially excited to read this, because I love paranormal stories, I was disappointed.

The Pros: The book showcases adequate to decent writing ability. It was easy to read and understand. The premise and plot made sense, overall. The magical elements were quite enjoyable. I love the inclusion of a cat, though he did not play a primary role.

Reasons for the DNF:

Firstly, this book, so far as I read, included a lot of preachy, political monologue. If I wanted to read a book about politics or political opinions and ethics, I would NOT have chosen to pick up a paranormal romance. I prefer books in which the characters beliefs / values / attributes are subtly incorporated through their actions, rather than through long-winded inner monologue.

Secondly, I wasn't able to like / connect with the MFC. She irritated me - she acts rude and ungrateful to those who try to be nice to / help her. I do realize this is a opportunity for character growth and development, so it's a petty reason. I have trouble connecting with and liking characters who start out like this.

I wish we were allowed half stars. I'd give 3.5 stars. Sadly, this one didn't quite hit - for me.

I really enjoyed this book and ended up reading it in one sitting! It was such an easy read, and the story kept me hooked the entire time. It’s different from what I normally pick up, but I loved the unique take on witches in a modern world. The blend of magic and contemporary life was so well done, and the writing itself was excellent. I’d definitely read more from this author in the future!

The Witch of Wall Street follows Miriam and Nelson who both are magical on a journey to find some lost magical items in New York.

Sadly the writing style just wasn’t for me, mainly I wasn’t too big of a fan when the two main characters first slept together as it didn’t have much of a lead up for me and it felt like it was put in just to get the plot moving without much thought. I am very much a slow burn lover, so if you are not this may be fine for you!
Sometimes there was too much explanation on small things and not enough explanation on the bigger plot points.

Overall I thought the concept was great, however a few tweaks and more editing would’ve made the book even better.

A broom and a cab medallion go for an adventure in the Tri-State area together while their owners, a chaos witch and a wizard who can make small miracles happen, have to navigate their feelings, their jobs, and a lot of dumplings. What could go wrong? Without giving away more, The Witch of Wall Street was a lot of fun and watching Miriam and Nelson navigate all of this together made for a great book. Miriam is a Wall Street banker questioning her morals and what lengths she would go to in order to become Partner and Nelson is the CEO of Housing Magic, trying to save the less fortunate of New York City one apartment at a time. This book questions what is the most important thing in the world, and what our deepest desires really are. There are some tough topics in this book, but it is possible to avoid the hardest chapter without missing anything in the book. Overall, I think people will love this romance!
