This is book five in the Cornish Country Hospital series.
It’s also Amy and Lijah’s story. Lijah returns to Port Kara and almost immediately runs into his old flame Amy.
This is an easy to read book. It’s also a bit predictable.
At times it felt a little too wordy and I felt like nothing was happening. If you enjoy second chance romance books, definitely add this one to your list.

Another delightful book taking us back again to the Cornish Country Hospital. This time we follow The story of Amy and Lijah. Childhood sweethearts who were separated when lijah left to follow his dream of being a singer.
When he returns can he convince Amy of his feelings towards her.
As always filled with lots of love and strong friendship, returning her feels almost like putting on a pair of comfy slippers.
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for sending me an ARC of Jo’s latest book.

I enjoyed this next trip to the Cornish hospital. It was good to meet both new and old characters, who it feels like putting on a warm blanket whilst reading. A gentle read but also with a positive message to all who have a worry about their health, this is a comforting read.

Jo Bartlett has done it again with the latest instalment of the Cornish Country Hospital series. We have previously met main character Amy who is an A&E nurse at St Piran’s and in this story she is the main focus alongside her first love Lijah. I really like how the others characters lives are threaded through the story leading you to get a real sense of the community and how everyone is connected. Lijah left Port Kara to peruse his dream of becoming a successful singer songwriter but when he starts to feel trapped and needs some space he returns to the one place that has always been home. Amy has never been able to fully move on after they split up so that he could follow his dream and is taken by surprise when he returns. It is obvious when they reconnect that they still have feelings for each other but with their very different worlds can a rekindled relationship survive? Just wonderful and like a warm hug I can’t recommend this enough. Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC

So many of the characters at the hospital at Port Kara have become particularly cherished, and A & E Nurse Amy Spencer is definitely one of the good ones. We haven't learned much about Amy from previous books, but that didn’t create any issues for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her. It soon became clear that she had a history with the one who got away, and her heart has been protected ever since. She wasn’t living like a nun, but she kept that part of her heart protected from further pain.
The source of her heartache, musician Lijah, was a terrific character, and I immediately took to him. He sounded like a typical boy next door who had enjoyed a mercurial path to success with world tours and sold-out concerts worldwide. It was particularly touching to learn that his best friend had remained at his side throughout and wanted nothing but the best for him.
The format of this story is one of my favourites. I always enjoy a storyline that sees a couple overcoming challenges, finding a way to share happiness, and discovering whether they have a future together.
There’s something rather special about the way Jo writes her books and brings out the very best in her characters. A genuine concern for their welfare runs through the heart of each of her books, and I love discovering each part of her characters’ simple yet somewhat complex storylines.
Like all her books, this was touching and beautifully written, with a gentle touch that guides the reader safely through the challenging elements.
Of course, there are other storylines running through the book, but as they aren’t mentioned in the synopsis, I shall leave them for you to discover for yourself.

I do so love this series every book is different and the characters are all so likeable. It's a perfect book to lose yourself in and read about the goings on at a hospital without all the waiting times and everyone has time for everybody. Perfect escapism. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

some writer are made for writing. some writers i want to bow down and say thankyou to. im not serious...but i am. because i cannot thank authors of this level of talent enough. those that write these stories with such brilliance are just incredible. and im in awe of them i truly am. i dont know how they do it!
the books of these authors are full of such warmth. they are full of such powerful character descriptions that you feel you know them. and when these authors do series. well, wow. thankyou very much im in. although every time a book ends i fear im getting closer to a series, and set of character i love, having to one day come to an end. dont Jo, dont finish this series yet please!

this could easily be a stand alone but i dont know why youd not want to follow them all.
this book centres around Amy. shes got it all. shes happy. but slowly something is feel like its not there. and thats someone to love and love her. but one person she doesnt want to enter that role is her first and only true love Lijah. hes now a famous singer. hes not and wont be part of her life. until....
Lijah needs space, he needs some healing time. he needs some down time. and know the only place he will get this is at his home town. so he takes some times out and does just that. goes home.
trouble is upon meeting its clear there is something between these two.
Amy let him go once. she doesnt want to be hurt all over again.
we also have of course stories from our other characters. they arent easy happening for all character involved. but once again its all told with such tender and knowledge words that it doesnt feel like it bring you down.
this is one of my favorite authors. and a favorite book. in favorite series.

Together Again at the Cornish Country Hospital features one of my favourite nurses from the series Amy who is not looking for love but when her first and only real love Lijah comes back to town will it be a happy ever after or will he be the one that got away? We also have some things happening in other characters stories Gwen is facing a medical issue and Aiden and Jase are awaiting the arrival of their baby but will there be any hiccups or will it be smooth sailing? After every one of these books I say this one is my favourite and I am going to say it again this book is my favourite of the series. There is romance, family trouble, medical problems, cute dogs, cute men young and old! Most of all I felt excited for what was too come and that excitement didn't diminish until long after I had read the last page. I enjoyed every word!

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

It was great to be back with the characters in Port Kara.

Amy is happy with the way she’s living her life, she loves her job, has great friends and her family. But, the one thing she doesn’t have in her life is Love. She’s never forgotten the person she loved ages ago, and that is Lijah Byrne.

He is a well known singer who has women wanting his attention. But, the Lijah isn’t who Amy thinks of, she thinks is of him when he was shy, and the boy she fell in love with.

Lijah decides to take some time away from being on the public eye and knows that Port Kara is the only place where he can relax.

So when they both meet for the first time in ages, the connection is still there between them, but time and distance has changed them both.

Amy is afraid, she’s already had her heartbroken, so is she prepared to have it broken again?

I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to boldwood books, Netgalley, & Jo Bartlett for the e-arc. This is a sweet story. I like the fact that there's a nurse in the book. I liked Monty the dog also. There's a happy ending.

Amy Spencer is happy with her life in Port Kara. She has a good and fulfilling job as an A&E Nurse, she has good friends and family. The only thing lacking is her love life. Amy has never seemed able to get over her first love, Lijah Byrne. Lijah is now a famous singer who has women falling over themselves for his attention, but Amy remembers the shy, sensitive boy she gave her heart to.
When Lijah needs some time away from the spotlight, he knows the only place he will find peace is Port Kara, where he grew up.
When Amy and Lijah bump into each other, it’s clear the spark is still there, but they have both changed. And Amy is scared, she had her heartbroken once, is she willing to take the risk again?
Can be read as a stand-alone or with the series. I haven’t read any of the previous books in this series but that didn’t stop me enjoying this one. There are enough catch ups in the story, so you get to know why characters are where they are now. However, it did make me want to go back to the start and read the others because I wanted to know the other characters as well as I did those in this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I have previously read the Cornish midwife books so it was nice to come back to the same hospital and some of the same characters. Lijah is a pop star and Amy is a nurse. The story follows them reconnecting as well as their friends . I will definitely continue reading book within this series.

Thank you to @rachelsrandomresources for inviting us onto this tour.

I love @jobartlett books and the cornish Country hospital series is lovely you don't need to read them in order but it does help.

This time it's the turn of Amy and elijah who are old friends who were going out but he had dreams of becoming a musician and he had the opportunity to go to London to follow that dream so Amy let him go but now years later his mum has died and he is finally returning to see if he can get writing his music again has he moved on from Amy or is the love still here.

I loved returning to the country hospital and seeing old faces again such as Aidan and gwen. Everyone could tell that Amy and elijah are still in love it's just making them realise they are and giving each other a chance to see where they can go in the future. It's such a cosy read and so easy to get into. Can't wait for our next trip back.

In this instalment we meet Amy, who is a nurse at St Piran’s Hospital in Port Kara. She’s happy but she also knows there’s something missing from her life, mainly the one that got away, Lijah who left Port Kara ten years previously to pursue his music career. But he’s back! How do they both navigate this?

Oh my Jo has done it again. I loved being back in Port Kara, with familiar characters and new ones too. It wasn’t just Amy’s story that was being told we also had a backstory from the infamous Gwen too.

I adored Amy and Lijah’s chemistry from the beginning. I found myself kicking my legs as they got to know each other again. But nothing runs smoothly and I’m glad Jo portrayed this in her story.

I highly recommend you read ‘Together Again at the Cornish Country Hospital’ which is full of firm friendships, love that stands the test of time and most of all a sense of amazing community! 🥰♥️

I can’t wait to read more of anything that Jo writes in the future. I am so grateful to Jo for once again adding me to her acknowledgments of the book too 🥹

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I feel absolutely terrible saying this because I am a big Jo Bartlett fan, but I thought this book was just so-so. There is nothing wrong with it, the characters are those we have met in previous books (with the exception of Lijah) and there were lots of the heartful moments you come to expect from this series. I just did not find myself especially invested in Amy and Lijah's story/romance. It was kind of a been-there-done-that kind of plot and there was nothing really all that new here. I may have been more on-board with it had at least part of the story been about her getting counseling/therapy to deal with her insecurities (most likely brought on by her jackass brother). I also thought her brother's disappearance was a little too much and his personality change at the end way to quick considering how long he had been that awful. I'm glad that Amy got her happy ending, but I did not totally believe how it all came to pass. As for Gwen's storyline here I am still not sure how I feel about it. I love Gwen and obviously am glad that she was not demonstrating early signs of dementia, but part of me thinks that her eventual diagnosis was a bit of a cop out to avoid having a beloved character suffer while still getting readers emotionally invested. As I said, I usually love Jo Bartlett's books but even the best authors have to put out the occasional underwhelming book.

I can't work out whether I want to cheer that we finally get Gwen as a leading lady of one of Jo Bartlett's book, or whether I want to berate the poor author for just what she put Gwen through during this book.

For Gwen is easily one of my favourite fictional characters in recent years, she has been a tonic in all of these 3 Ports area medical romances, and is utterly fabulous, so to see her suddenly having health issues was upsetting.

But it is a storyline that is told sensitively and I feel like this won't be the last we see of St Piran's matriarch.

And the other focus of this book was Amy's story and romance with old flame Lijah who just happens to be back in town. They are nowadays worlds apart and Amy is not sure whether she can dare fall for him once again.

We also get to catch up with the rest of the regular characters from the series and there were definitely some heart in mouth moments of drama.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and am already eager to hopefully read the next book in the series, assuming there is one, or whatever else Jo Bartlett writes next! I love this author and her setting and can never get enough of it.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Another instalment with the characters we love at St Pirans.

In this book Lijah Byrne returns to Port Kara, as a successful musician and the ex boyfriend of Amy an A&E nurse.

Hearts flutter and memories resurface, but will they get a second chance at love?

Another beautiful story in this series!

Together again at the Cornish Hospital was another great read. Cozy and familiar, with lots of recurring characters. Although it works fine as a read alone book too. Lighthearted and an easy read, which is just what you need sometimes!

Jo Barlett is back with another story about St Piran and this time it's Amy and Lijah. Amy, she needs a good shake and some what of a attitude adjustment. I began to really dislike her.

Lijah, I loved him but I thought he needed to grow a spine and stop Amy pushing him around. The story got boring after a while and for the first time ever I thought it went on too long.

Gwen I'm glad she is okay. It's impossible not to like Gwen and love her story. Love seeing the other characters too and seeing what they've been up to. Does Adrian finally get his dream?

I hope book 7 is back to Jo at her very best.
