This woman is a literal genius. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ With this being book 2 and Phantasma being absolute perfection, I went into this very skeptical that it would hold upโ€ฆ I was honestly terrified of the second book curseโ€ฆ But I was scared for no reason. Iโ€™m not sure how Kaylie continues to write books that have every single thing my greedy little heart desires, but she doesnโ€™t just do it, she knocks it out of the fucking park. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ From the plot, to the world, to the romance. Itโ€™s all there in a magical combination of awesomeness.

I would like to say WOW!! I mean WOOOW, this book was incredible! Plot, characters, banter, everything! It has been a long while since I have read anything that hooked me right from the start! I won't give anything away but this is one of my top reads of the year! The author is so talented and I really hope she has more for us! You will not regret reading this! Trust me!!

Enchantra, book two of the Wicked Games series, starts off with the same grim and magical energy as the first book, but this time we are following the younger sisterโ€™s story. Genevieve Grimm is on the hunt for some answers after drifting through life the past year.

My favorite kind of FMC is the one who doesnโ€™t take no for an answer and always pushes towards achieving their hopes and dreams. Genevieve fits the bill perfectly and add in some delicious stubbornness and Iโ€™m sold. Her confidence also radiates off of her and itโ€™s nice to read a woman DO HER THING.

After being hexed with a murder or crows pushing her to accept the invitation to the Enchantra Estate, she heads to Italy determined to get some answers. Two attempts to entering the Estate later, and confronting a tall, shadowy brute who makes her presence unwanted very known, she discovers that because she stepped foot into the home, sheโ€™s no longer allowed to leave. This time, Genevieve signed herself up unknowingly for another wicked game. Essentially after a Devil bargain gone wrong, the Silver siblings (seven in total) is trapped into a year murder competition called the Hunt and may the best sibling win.

Trust is a fickle thing especially since Genevieve is put into position of marrying Rowington (the kids names are hysterical) in order to be able to compete in the Hunt rather than immediately losing her life for being unable to participate.

The pacing was perfect, the plot kept my heart racing the entire time and my mind was reeling trying to clue together what was actually happening versus what was an illusion or lie. I instantly fell for every single one of the other Silver siblings and canโ€™t even imagine the trauma of yearly killing competition between them. Iโ€™m hoping to see a little bit more of resolution between Rowin and his twin in the next books because that aspect grappled my heart and hasnโ€™t stopped twisting.

Now when you see this is called a โ€œSpicy Fantasy Romanceโ€ it is not lying. I was kicking my little feet and gasped a couple of times along the way. Not only is it spicy but there are plenty of mini-games played in between where you really get to see the love grow between the love interests before itโ€™s too much for either of them to know what to do with.

This book pulled me right back in! When "Phantasma" was first released, I was drawn to it by the world building that Smith brilliantly penned and Enchantra is a continuation of that same world. Now focusing on the other sister, Genevieve, who is a spectre, the book follows her as she navigates a new competition in a sprawling palace and labyrinth in Italy. I felt more connected to Genevieve and loved her candor. The plot thickens as the story unfolds and the author continues to build the setting throughout the novel. There was the horror element that was present in the first book which caught me by surprise in the beginning but then reminded me of book one. It was consistent and book two felt like the perfect place to continue after Phantasma. I loved the introduction of the animals and their connection to the other beings involved in the story. Overall, I think Enchantra was even better than book one and I absolutely loved it! For anyone that enjoyed book one, this is a MUST READ!

I quite enjoyed Phantasma and was thrilled to receive an ARC of Enchantra. Enchantra was a five star read. I wasnโ€™t sure if it would live up to Phantasma but I actually enjoyed it a bit more. The relationships and banter between Genevieve and Rowin was so entertaining and hilarious. The spice was well done. I also quite enjoyed the banter between Genevieve and the Silver siblings was so funny and enjoyable. I canโ€™t wait to buy the book for my personal shelf and to recommend to everyone I know.

so i feel a bit conflicted on this book as i didnt hate it by any means but im also not sure i liked it very much???? there was just enough random things through out that kept me interested enough in continuing to read this one.

now ill start by saying that i didnt have the highest of expectations as phantasma was fun, i wasnt in love with it but at least it was FUN.

enchantra had its moments of fun, i thought it started off pretty strong. i was giggling over gens first meeting with rowin, i loved how sassy she was and how he literally just could not be bothered but as we progressed towards the games that was where my interest in both the storyline and our main couple fell off and i found myself caring more about a fox and rowins siblings more than them ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

i think that the games are completely why i found myself becoming disinterested in our couple because well, they were boring. i kind of expected more from this โ€œhuntโ€ that this family has been trapped into doing for YEARS on end however every game was just hiding in a room until the timer ran out. the siblings for having done this for so long kind of sucked at it? and the lack of magic using was certainly a weird choice to me because it left zero reason for gen to even randomly have power except for getting her inside enchantra gates???? there was exactly one time where we got to see her use her magic and honestly it was a pretty cool thing she did, just for it to never be expanded upon lolol. i wanted more magic, more fighting and running just SOMETHING other than chillin in a room. at the very least if the games werenโ€™t going to be as thrilling and anxiety inducing as phantasmas was make the down time something fun with the main couple??

all in all i cared more about the silver familyโ€™s plot lines than i did the one we were currently in. all of the siblings had personality and random things going on that made me want to know more about them. where as gen kinda turned out to just be a massive brat and rowin was just kinda there with his shadows and piercings lol, they had no other personality traits. i didnt find myself caring about these two again until the very end, i like how the story was wrapped up, it was very sweet to me.

i think that this book had a lot of potential had things been a bit more fleshed out, there was a lot of emphasis placed on things to further continue this series which is great and those things do sound intriguing BUT not great when its taking away from why were here in the first place which is gen and rowin.

I have no words to describe how I feel about this book. I just want to scream from the rooftops for anyone to read it!
I loved phantasma and I just knew I was going to love this too. It did not disappoint!

I went into this blind without knowing a single thing about it and I recommend others doing the same too ,What a rollercoasterโ€ฆ had me on edge the whole time.

Absolutely devoured this book 10 out 10 Amazing!

I will say though, the ending felt a little rushed. I feel as though there is much more that could have been written between the 2 main characters during their โ€˜situationโ€™ towards the end.

Kaylie Smith delivers another spellbinding installment in the Wicked Games series with Enchantra, a darkly enchanting tale thatโ€™s impossible to put down. This second book shifts the spotlight to Genevieve Grimmโ€”sister of Ophelia from Phantasmaโ€”as she is thrust into a treacherous world of illusions, danger, and high-stakes survival.

The story unfolds like a haunting fairytale mixed with a pulse-pounding thriller, complete with magical trials that feel like elevated, sinister versions of hide-and-seek. Each round of the deadly game is more intense than the last, pulling readers deeper into Enchantraโ€™s twisted halls. The chemistry between Genevieve and Rowin crackles with tension as they must pretend to be lovers to survive, but the lines between pretense and reality blur dangerously.

With demons lurking in the shadows and magic thick in the air, the worldbuilding in Enchantra is immersive and richly layered. Genevieveโ€™s growth from a grieving daughter to a fierce and cunning competitor is a standout element, making her journey deeply compelling.

For fans of fast-paced Romantasy with sharp twists, captivating enemies-to-lovers dynamics, and a gothic, game-like atmosphere reminiscent of Ready or Not, this book will absolutely hit the mark. Smith once again proves her talent for blending romance, suspense, and fantasy into a wildly addictive read. If Phantasma left you wanting more, Enchantra will leave you utterly enthralled.

I said I was probably not going to read book two, but Iโ€™m glad I did. At first I was not impressed because it seemed like it was the same premise again (stuck in a game) but with the other sister.
It ended up being a lot more fun this time around. Meeting the new family and getting to see the personalities of all the siblings was great. There was still a good amount of set up in this book for more in a series while also giving Vivi a time to shine. She was much more likable in this book and I looooove fake dating so it was a win for me.

Thank you Forever for the arc!

This was an absolutely breathtaking sequel! Such a fun world building and I love, in general, the FMC! She's so feisty!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down. It's an easy read and it is easy to fall in love with the siblings. The author had the perfect balance of spice and mastery. I found it easy to picture each character and let my imagination create the picture. I am definitely inlove with Rowan. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a book like this and read it in 2 days. 10 out of 10.

Kaylie Smith DELIVERS with Enchantra. Let me tell you I did not think I could love another book as much as I loved Phantasma. But Kaylie Smith managed to take everything I loved about Phantasma and spin into into a stunningly brilliant follow-up adventure. I burned through this book in a day because I could not put it down.

Genevieve's adventure with the Silver family are epic. Genevieve's and Rowin's banter is top-notched. Seriously it sizzles off the page. You practically beg them to give in because Kaylie Smith delivers such epic sexual tension between these two. I think the only thing better than the banter is the emotional tension as these two pretend constantly that they feel nothing for each other.

I loved getting Genevieve's POV in this book. She is a different character from her sister -- equally parts "dare me" and "I make my own fun." It was also fun to dive into her more emotional hangups that you don't see in Phantasma. I loved her pairing with Rowin. These two challenged each other as a team and as a couple. But their desire to protect each other just really added to their relationship in all the best ways.

I loved the set up of this particular house of horrors -- a family forced to terrorize each other to save someone they love. It was haunting, chilling, and so damned fun. I kinda love the unhinged nature of it all. And the Silver siblings are absolutely hilarious with their dark humor. I think Sevin and Grave were two of my favorites (Ellin as well). I also loved Umbra and Sapphire as well). I think the Silver family kept this new adventure fresh and fun (and horrifying). I need more of the Silvers, please! What a delightfully f'ed up family -- they make the Addams family look normal and I loved it.

I also loved the little nuggets of larger plotlines that Kaylie wove into this book as well -- the last 10 percent left me with more questions than I had answers. I NEED MORE!

I loved Phantasma when I read it last year, but oh my god, I think I am simply obsessed with Enchantra. The book does an incredible job of making you feel the perils of Enchantra. You are quite literally on your toes at every second because the unexpected keeps on happening. The book feels like the perfect mixture of paranormal-horror elements with fantasy and of course romance. The writing feels so sharply descriptive and lush, that honestly I was imagining myself in Enchantra experiencing the deadly rooms and the dangers of the game.

Enchantra is the story of Genevieve Grimm, the younger sister to Ophelia and who we've already met in book 1. She was such a courageous character, and I honestly really admire her for it. Rushing headfirst into dangerous situations to find answers, Genevieve stays determined and continues to work towards her end goal which is to find answers about her mother's death. I think she's such a good investigator, like she's just got that spark of curiosity that keeps on driving her to find out the truth. That makes it so much fun to read about all the stuff that happens. She's got incredible tenacity even when she's surrounded by all sorts of paranormal creatures, including the deadly Devil behind Enchantra. Genevieve is also caring, and without spoiling, we see so many instances of that on page. Her character from the start to the finish feels very well rounded, and not going to lie, she might become one of my favourite protagonists that I've read about recently.

Of course, I also have to mention Rowin here. I love a good morally grey character, and Rowin embodies. He has his own purpose when he competes in Enchantra, and is almost as stubborn as Genevieve is. This makes for such an interesting dynamic between the two, especially after they are forced to wed. The dangers of Enchantra force the two to work together, and as they do, their chemistry shines through. I was shipping them so hard, and god the kisses and their *ahem* spicy scenes...so freaking good. While they haven't known each other long, their connection feels very real and I loved seeing their relationship grow throughout the book.

The climax was quite jam-packed and there is so much going on. And you know what, I loved every second of it! It delivers on all fronts - the action, the tension, the romance, and most of all the angst. It gets emotional towards the end, but the ending is so so beautiful. It wraps up all plot threads neatly, but also leaves room for more stories to be told. (I have a sneaking suspicion we're going to be seeing more of a certain character hehe).

Enchantra is a darkly engaging fantasy, full of high stakes and wild twists, and of course, a very engaging and compelling romance. I'm obsessed with Kaylie Smith's writing and can't wait to read more of what they write.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an EARC of Enchantra. I was so excited to read this as I just finished Phantasma.
I loved Genevieve and Rowin!! I loved the story and how it included trials but was still different from Phantasma. Genevieve definitely grew throughout the book and was able to become a stronger version of herself. I loved all of Rowinโ€™s siblings and their familiars. Umbra was so cute!! I hope we get another story in this world!!

Kaylie Smith has done it again! Honestly, I am enthralled by her writing in all her books, and I give her books five stars because they are that good!

My first book by Kaylie was her debut, A Ruinous Fate, and I instantly knew she would become one of my favorite authors. Kaylie has a magical way of making you fall in love with her worlds and characters. Enchantra was no exception.

Last year, I read Phantasma and became instantly addicted to everything in that book. When I found out there would be more books set in that world, I was thrilled. Imagine my excitement when I got approved for the ARC of Enchantra!

I literally dropped everything to read Enchantra. At first, I questioned the book because it felt different from Phantasma, but with every page, I fell more and more in love with Enchantra and its characters.

Genevieve is a character with grit. Although she can be annoying, she is fiercely loyal and has a big heart. Throughout the book, she becomes more resilient and learns to see everyoneโ€”and herselfโ€”in a new light.

I enjoyed the world of familiars and devils, especially how ruthless they can be. The Enchantra games are far more dangerous than those in Phantasma. It was fascinating to see the similarities between the games, as well as their drastic differences.

Honestly, Enchantra reminds me of the movie Ready or Not. Think of that movie, but add spice, a found family, love, and a variety of survival games, and youโ€™ll get Enchantra.

Genevieve and Rowin's relationship had everything: a slow burn, spice, and deep affection for each other. Personally, I like them more than Ophelia and Blackwell, which is saying something!

I look forward to book three, where I hope to see a few characters from the first two books and discover where the overarching story takes a new turn.

screaming, crying, throwing up. i loved this so much. enchantra follows genevieve grimm and her quest to find someone like her but she gets roped into a marriage to keep herself alive and a deadly game with her in laws. im actually so insane over rowin, he is high up there with my favourite book boyfriends now. i loved genevieve as our loud, no fucks given, main character. she speaks her mind and is Not Afraid of any Devil. i definitely found myself rooting for her more than i was in phantasma, i sympathized with her a lot more and resonated with her too. i didnt expect this book to call me out on my own feelings and yet it did!! what a surprise. i felt like the ending was a little rushed, and maybe thats because i was up reading at 2am, but alas i wish it was a bit more drawn out.

โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ โ€” Six stars because five simply arenโ€™t enough!

First, a massive THANK YOU to Kaylie Smith and the publisher for granting me early access to Enchantra! I am absolutely BUZZING after finishing this bookโ€”Iโ€™m talking giddy, heart-pounding, utterly-spellbound levels of excitement. This book swept me off my feet and spun me in a dance of danger, desire, and dark enchantment I never wanted to end.

First of all, Genevieve Grimmโ€”our fierce, curvy, beautifully complex heroine. I cannot express how much it meant to see a plus-size FMC who was fierce and finding her strength after experiencing such grief, trauma, and heartache. Genevieve is radiant, confident, vulnerable, powerfulโ€”she owns every page sheโ€™s on. She is magnetic in a way that makes you feel seen and empowered, and I adored every second of being in her head.

And donโ€™t even get me started on the fake dating tropeโ€”I LIVE for it, and this book delivered in spades! The chemistry between Genevieve and Rowin Silver is absolutely electric. From barbed banter to slow-burning touches, to the emotional walls crumbling piece by pieceโ€”YES, YES, YES. Their fake relationship is full of tangible tension, but it evolves into something so real and raw and achingly romantic that I was swooning chapter after chapter. *Rowivieve* for life! (I'm coining that name. They are the IT couple of this series for me!)

What really blew me away was the fresh, chilling twist on paranormal games. A deadly game of hide-and-seek?? Brilliant. Itโ€™s haunting, thrilling, and completely unpredictable. The stakes are sky-high, the magic is lush and layered, and the pacing never lets you catch your breath in the best way possible. This isnโ€™t just a storyโ€”itโ€™s a spell. A game you donโ€™t realize youโ€™ve entered until itโ€™s too late to escape, and you wouldnโ€™t want to anyway.

Enchantra is a seductive, dangerous fairytale with teeth. Itโ€™s everything I crave in romantasyโ€”lush writing, crackling tension, heart-stopping twists, and a love story that refuses to play by the rules. Kaylie Smith has truly outdone herself, and Iโ€™m already counting the days until I can fall into her world again!

If youโ€™re looking for a book that will make your pulse race, your heart ache, and your soul scream โ€œMORE,โ€ this is it. Pre-order it. Devour it. Obsess over it. You wonโ€™t regret a single page.

โœจ Now excuse me while I go reread all my favorite parts... again. โœจ

The ambience of this book was beautifully dark, subtly sweet and I couldnโ€™t put it down. I found Genevieve to be the perfect choice to lead this compelling cast of characters she comes to call family. She was strong willed, confident and fiercely independent with a bit of a stubborn streak that lent itself to top tier level banter with her betrothed shadow daddy Rowin. Rowin was handsomely witty, smart and highly intriguing a great compliment to Genevieve. The intensity of his dysfunctional family and their annual game was entertaining with a history I enjoyed hearing about and wanted more of. There were a few characters that felt lost in the background but Iโ€™m hopeful we get more of this delightfully dark and magical series where they will get to shine. Fans of the first book wonโ€™t be disappointed and I feel they will delight in the conclusion as I did. Definitely one I will be adding to my collection, I loved every bit of it.

Adult | Paranormal | Romance

Thereโ€™s a moment in this sequel that instantly reminded me of Skyrimโ€™s opening scene, and another where a character untangles another's hair using magicโ€”small touches like these added charm. But beyond that, Enchantra left me feeling mixed.

I loved the atmosphere and world while reading Phantasma, so I was hoping I'd have the same feeling with this, but this sequel didnโ€™t give me a strong reason to invest in the stakes of the world and situation they were in. The plot revolves around a game to the "end" inside a house, yet we never really see it. They hid in rooms repeatedly, occasionally getting into a fight. Having watched Ready or Not, I know the vibe itโ€™s going for, but I needed more substance to build tension. The outside world remained a mystery, it's still vaguely alternate universe Victorian-inspired. I hope in later books it's built upon more.

The main relationship didnโ€™t stand out to me. The main character, Genevieve Grimm is outspoken, yet her strongest bond is with a fox familiar, Umbra, rather than the love interest. The romance felt surface-level, with her love interest reduced to "shadow daddy" aesthetics rather than real depth. On the other hand, the side characters had a much more engaging plot line, which kept me interested.

Overall I thought this was a decent sequel for readers who like dark yet fluffy romantasy, the she's mine trope, single POVs, and love reading characters exhibiting healthy communication, even if it doesn't look like it to other people.

This is a sequel and is connected to the outcome of the first book.

4.5 stars!!

This was SO GOOD!!! While I was not a huge fan of the first book, this gave me everything I was wanting and more.
I am a huge fan of the movie Ready or Not, and this was such a fun paranormal twist on that concept!! I was unaware of how badly I needed a book with a similar concept until just now. I also love a dark, shadow-wielding MMC (think Rhysand or Xaden Riorson), and Rowington Silver absolutely delivered on that! And so many of my favorite tropes... forced marriage, one bed, "my wife" just to name a few.
The Silver family is so special to me... I can't wait to hopefully hear more from them in books to come (if I don't get a Ellin and a Sevin book, I'm going to RIOT). And I am dying to know more about this weird connection between Genevieve's mom and Barrington Silver because I have some theories!
Honestly, my only complaint was that the last couple of rounds in the game were wrapped up a little too quickly and left me wanting to see a lot more. But I understand the space that was needed for that ending because that was CRAZYYYY.
Thank you to NetGalley, Second Sky/Forever Publishing, and Kaylie Smith for this ARC!!
