Kaylie Smith does it again!
If you love Phantasma, you will love Enchantra, too. And if you haven't read either one, this is your sign to read both of them and join me in begging for more.
I ate this book UP. Genevieve is everything I hoped for when she took the spotlight as the MC. She's quick-witted, snarky, strong, clever, but still soft and sweet. Rowin seems like the opposite of her, emotionless and cold, but he's much more under the surface. Did I mention the lip ring? And shadows? Lots of shadows...
The game they have to play is called The Hunt, and it's like hide-and-seek but with stabby stabby unaliving from a different Hunter each night. Rowin and Genevieve not only have to work together to survive his siblings and somehow break his family's curse, but they have to do those things while faking a marriage and putting on a show for their hellish audience. *grabs the popcorn*
The house of Enchantra is as magical and unpredictable as Phantasma, but still unique and new. Mirrors everywhere, enchanted rooms that transform into landscapes, secret passages, and a hedge maze. What more could one ask for? Oh, yes. A library filled to the brim with books.
Honorable mentions:
Umbra, Rowin's shadow fox Familiar. She's too cute and I adore her and she needs her own book.
Sevin, my favorite of Rowin's siblings. He steals the pages anytime he's in a scene. He needs his own book, too. *wink wink at Kaylie Smith*
And the delightful appearance of Blackwell and Ophelia. I was over the moon to see them again. The licorice!!! The 'Angel'!!! And Blackwell. Period.
Thank you so much to the publisher for inviting me to read this sequel early in exchange for an honest review. I already pre-ordered it months ago, but now I'm even more excited to have it grace my bookshelf after I read it again.

Kaylie Smith does it again! I really enjoyed Phantasma but I LOVED Enchantra! It was such a great story from start to finish.
Genevieve and Rowin are everything. Their banter back and forth was so good! I really enjoyed Rowin's character and how much he looked after Genevieve and how down bad he was immediately. Also. The tattoos and piercings?? Kaylie please I was sweating!! And the PINING was crazy!
The concept of the games in Enchantra was super cool and I love the family aspect of it and the unique relationships between each of the siblings. The games were really unique as well. I need a spinoff of the Silver siblings STAT please!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced review copy.

Thank you NetGalley for the ebook arc. I absolutely loved this one as much as the first and could not put it down. Beautifully written and lovable characters. Definitely a bingeable book and finish it in just a few days. This book follows Genevieve the as she travels to a mysterious man’s house to find out answers about her mother only to get kicked out and then to find out they kicked her out for a reason, and after breaking in again to find out the terrible truth why she was kicked out. Once a year a competition goes on and only people with the last name of Silver can enter. She ends up getting back into the house as players show up, and after finding out she is now stuck inside with them for the competition she is then is forced to marry on of the sons to get the name silver so that the devil running the game won’t kill her on sight. She now has to team up with her new husband Rowin in order to survive the competition.

ARC Review-
I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing the ARC of Phantasma last year and absolutely loved it, so when I got the email inviting me to read and review the sequel Enchantra I was beyond thrilled. And it did not disappoint!
Deadly trials, puzzles, high stakes, a marriage of inconvenient convenience, what more could you ask for? I loved how defiant and strong Genevieve is as our FMC, even when her past and insecurities arise, she is fierce and refuses to take any nonsense from any of these manipulating paranormals. Umbra most definitely stole the show and my favorite character, even over Rowin himself, though he too was a beautiful shadow wielding MMC.
Kaylie’s writing is so gripping and the settings are always so vivid to read. My favorite part of her developing world is how each story is a standalone but there is an element of a cliffhanger at the end of each, not regarding the main couple per say, setting up intrigue for a potential new book that will further the over arching connections that we can see developing in the background. I do not know when the next book will be out, or any details other than what was stated in the epilogue, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be first in line to sign up for preorder for that one as well.
This was a fantastically told dark romantasy and I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.
Thank you Kaylie Smith, Forever & Second Sky, and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

The beginning confused me and took a bit to get fully into but once I was in it, I was IN it. I loved Genevieve and Rowin's story along with the mentions of Ophelia and Salem and call backs to Phantasma.

—Saw trap but make it fantasy romance (actually, that's a lot to put on a book), it's not quite THAT freaky
—marriage of life-saving convenience
—when the moon hits the sky like a big pizza pie that's amore but in a weird twisty turny game of magic and mayhem (this book is set in Italy, technically)
Heat Index: 7/10
The Basics:
Genevieve Grimm, always in the shadow of her more powerful sister, embarks to a mysterious palace following her mother's death in search of answers. The issue being that the palace is actually a living, deadly, possibly eternal game tormenting the snarky and mysterious (and immortal) Rowin Silver and his family. Rowin offers Genevieve the opportunity to team up, which will involve faking a romance... With some marriage thrown in. But like, just for now, right? If they live through this, it won't stick, right? Of course, that's a BIG "if".
The Review:
I can safely say that if you loved Phantasma, you will most likely love this book. It's very much a redux of the original, but with different characters in the "game of life and death" scenario now. Also, you know. An Italian vibe.
Genevieve and Rowin are a bit rougher around the edges and snarkier than our leads were the first go, which makes for a lot of banter and tension that I wouldn't PERSONALLY call "enemies to lovers", but has its own heat. The real kick to their dynamic is the "fake dating" sensibility, which has always hit or miss for me, but Kaylie Smith milks it for all it's worth here.
Did I love Phantasma? I liked it. I think Smith has a lot of verve to her writing style that makes it brisk and fun to follow, but there was just... a depth, I guess? That was missing in Phantasma. And I can't say Enchantra really makes the novel any deeper, because it's really similar to the first book. And you know what? She knows what works for her and what works for her audience, so I really can't complain too much. I get it.
There's just a lot of potential for darkness that is sort of softened by dialogue and dynamics that ring a bit more YA than adult to me. Yes, Genevieve is twenty-two, but she is an adult... And Rowin has a lot more going on that I would expect to give him more gravitas? I also didn't super get why they had such a contentious dynamic to begin with, which is another thing that skews a little more YA to me.
I do feel it's very important for the shadow girlies to know that this does have shadow stuff. Do with what information what you will.
The Sex:
Kaylie Smith continues to write good sex scenes—nothing super crazy, but for sure hot. I'd kind like them to get a bit crazier, but I think that's my general sentiment on this series: could be crazier. Might benefit from being crazier!
Conclusion:
Were my socks knocked off? Not exactly. Do I think socks will be knocked off if you're the right audience? Yes. Did I have a fun and fancy free time? Yes.
Thanks to Second Sky/Forever and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinoins are my own.

To say that I loved this book would be an understatement. I'm obsessed.
The storyline was unique, fast paced and engaging. There was no way you wouldn't fall in love with the characters, even the ones that was supposed to be less like likeable - Yes I'm looking at you Grave. The Silver siblings were all such a wonderful bunch of different personalities and I really hope we get to see more of the rest of them in the future.
With all that being said, I absolutely loved Phantasma so I definitely started this book with a lot of high hopes and I was not disappointed and only pleasantly surprised that I loved it so much. Genevieve is a total firecracker. Rowin and her banter was just top tier and their chemistry explosive.
Thank you so much to the publisher and Netgalley for this e ARC.

Kaylie Smith has DONE it again! Enchantra follows the younger sister, Genevieve on her journey to visit a mysterious old spoooky house at the urging of a murder of crows. This book has fast paced action, a mysterious sexy man, and excellent world building. I ate this book up in just two days. This is a WHOLE family of sexy wraiths and am hoping beyond hope that this starts off a new line of titles. I loved it! Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for my honest opinion! It is truly a gift!!

I really enjoyed book one of this series but I loved this one. There was a fake dating/marriage, shadow magic, a romantic couple that both had actual personalities, and character development. The plot also had emotional stakes. The book also had a twist that I wasn’t expecting. The side characters even got a bit fleshed out and there was a good set up for book 3 of the series. Honestly this could be a possible 6 star read for me.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book for my honest review.
I will say this that the first book has so much more to offer than this book. I felt it to still be fun and exciting but the games are just more boring and the characters sub in more games to make up for it (in my opinion).
Now I will say that the ending of this book definitely leaves it open for book 3 which I hope will pick up and have more spooky feel like book 1.
Another issue is I read book 1 as an audiobook and I physically read this book so if the narration is better and gives that feel I got before I will update my review then but overall it's a good book.

Dropped everything to read this one! This book is SO good. Genevieve is such a funny, sassy, confident character. I love that she’s strong and smart and also cares about her hair and wardrobe. Rowin is the shadow man of our dreams. He is loyal, patient, and learning to trust. The tension between these two is delicious.
Vivi gets thrown into yet another deadly game in Enchantra, through the Hunt. Going into this book I was afraid it would feel too much like Phantasma with that element. I was happily proven wrong and this book had great connections and call backs to book 1, while being its own distinct thing.
The story takes a moment to gain momentum but every second is with it! I love the dangerous games, deals with Devils, fake relationship, a forced marriage that actually makes sense, and I loved the dynamics of the Silver family.
Rowin and Genevieve belong to each other.
Looking forward to more from this series.

I loved Phantasma so much, so I would So excited when I saw this new book from Kaylie Smith.
I loved this one as much as Phantasma, the vibes are everything!
I really hope there will be more!

I have been looking forward to this book since I finished Phantasma and was NOT disappointed!!
She did it again. LOVED this book, and read it so quickly! I love when something holds my attention enough that I don't want to put it down, and this did exactly that.
This was a lot of fun, with a marriage of convenience, and Ready or Not meets elements of The Hunger Games. I loved the siblings (those names, though LOL) and all of their personalities and how they interact with each other. Genevieve is my girl, with her "I do what I want" attitude mixed with her princess vibes. Not afraid to get dirty, but would prefer not to. LOL. And Rowin...tall, dark, handsome, a bit broody and a bit quiet, a shadow wraith? Yes, please.
I've really, really enjoyed this series so far and I cannot wait for the next installment!!
HUGE thank you to the teams at Forever & Second Sky for the e-ARC!! I screamed at work when it was received.

Engaging and fast paced plot. Not my personal cup of tea…but lovers of Dark Romance will devour this!

First of all, my husband’s face when I freaked out over receiving this arc was hilarious! The biggest thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to read it!!!
Genevieve “Vivi” Grimm is supposed to be enjoying herself in Rome, but has actually made plans to visit the Silver Estate hoping to find a family like hers. Rowington “Rowin” Silver (shadow daddy!!!) isn’t letting her get through that front door though. She eventually apparates her way in and the regret hits her pretty quickly. Vivi has to choose between death or playing different versions of deadly hide and seek. Thank goodness Rowin offers to help her out, but only if she helps him too…
I freaking loved this! The ending had me a little worried, but dang did it end up being perfect. It also seems like the series will be continuing! I honestly expected a 3 star read because that’s how it normally goes with the 2nd book in a series. I was so wrong! Enchantra has a lot of the same elements that Phantasma had, but in its own separate ways. I cannot wait for the release date so I can buy a physical copy!

WOAH!!!!! i really enjoyed this!!! i was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. i was on the edge of my seat the entire time!! rowington silver and genevieve enter a fake dating situation when she enters enchantra in order to win the game. this was full of lots of action, spice, twists, and the ending????? AH!!!! i highly recommend this series!!! i cannot wait to see what is next in this universe.

Kaylie Smith does it again! I was so happy to dive back into her storytelling after Phantasma. Enchantra is a definite change of scenery, and it suits Genevieve and her personality perfectly. I appreciated the complex sibling/family dynamics and how they get shown through during the hunts. But the cherry on top had to be the ending - so beautifully written and resolved (and the choice Rowin made!) was a great parallel to Ophelia's story too.

Thank you to Teams Forever and Second Sky for sending me an ARC and submerging me into this world again! I loved that second book followed Phantasmas theme of game and trials while focusing on a new characters! I loved loved loved family dynamics in this one where every single character seemed morally grey. While the ending was pretty much happily ever after there was plenty of drama and plot twist at the end. Escorted to see what the third book will bring😍

5/5 stars! I absolutely loved this book! I really enjoyed Phansasma but I loved Enchantra. I was hooked from the very first chapter and I couldn’t put this book down. Enchantra follows the other Grimm sister Genevieve and her journey finding herself at enchantra. At Enchantra she meets the mysterious Rowington Silver and they end up in a fake relationship/ marriage of convenience. I didn’t want this book to end and hopefully we get a third book in the series in the near future.
This book is releasing April 8, 2025. Thank you so much to Second Sky/ Forever Publishing, Kaylie Smith and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.

This book picks up right from the beginning and doesn’t stop. With something for everyone from a lot of action to plot twists and spice. This book is a wonderful successor to phantasma in every way
