Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and author for an advanced copy of this book,
Still Falling for You by Nina Wynter.
This was a cute, quick read. I really liked Holly, although do wish she had a bit more of backbone at times. My opinion of Alex went back and forth depending on the situation. He was very hot and cold. Their lack of communication was frustrating and I felt like it could/should have been dealt with sooner. I also feel like the ending was too abrupt. There needed to be another chapter or at least an epilogue. There was so much going on at the end that it felt like it was lacking something.
I enjoyed Holly’s friendships and found many part of the book humorous. I will definitely read more of Nina Wynter’s work.

Well, I have a lot to say about this book ! Okay, not gonna lie...I went into Still Falling for You expecting your typical mentor/teacher romance, but it totally surprised me. It’s sweet, a little messy in the best way, and gave me major comfort read vibes. Holly is this brand new teacher just trying to survive, and then boom !!! She finds out her mentor is Alex, her first love. Cue the awkward tension… and I ate it up:)
What I really liked: – the slow-burn tension
1) the cozy atmosphere (seriously felt like a warm blanket kind of read)
2) and quotes like this one that straight-up hurt:
“I never stopped falling for you. I just learned to fall quietly.”
Like??? Please. My heart. I was dying
A small downside for me was the miscommunication.. there were a few times where I just wanted them to sit down and actually talk. It dragged things out a bit, but I get that it was part of the whole second-chance vibe.
Overall though, I really enjoyed it. It's a soft, emotional story with characters that feel real and flawed in a good way. Definitely recommend if you're into second-chance romances with just the right amount of angst and sweetness.

I LOVE A TEACHER ROMANCE! Anything that has forbidden love in, I will delve straight into. This had me kicking my feet and giggling the whole time. Would definitely recommend over and over again to a lot of people I know.

Newly qualified teacher Holly's life unravels when her boyfriend's betrayal coincides with the loss of her dream job.Seeking a fresh start, she relocates to a modest bedsit and begins anew. Unexpectedly, her new role introduces her to Alex, her first love and now her mentor. As they navigate their complex history, Holly and Alex confront past wounds and explore the possibility of rekindled romance. This swoony second-chance romance serves up heartbreak, healing, and a whole lot of heat - because some sparks never really fizzle out.

My feelings about Alex changed a lot during the book. I really appreciated the softer, light-hearted side of him, but I wasn't a fan of his serious side unless he was helping Holly out of a difficult situation. I would have liked to see much more of the light side compared to the serious side.

A romance novel about teachers who work in the same school? I had to say yes to this book. I love a good second-chance novel and this one did not disappoint. Wynter created characters that are likable and relatable and made you root for them. I wish that the conflict between the MCs had wrapped up a bit sooner in the book so that we could see them longer in happier times, but even so this was a great read.

Thank you for this arc I appreciate it hugely.
So first off I'm going to say I really liked both the FMC(holly) and the MMC (Alex) and I got involved into the story line because I wanted to hear about their past and what happened and all the trauma. Alex and Holly were unfortunately driving me a bit bonkers at times because this books main trope is Miscommunication which is my least favorite because if they would just speak to each other properly then a lot of the issues would of been solved.
The feelings for each other after 10years is believable to a point of it showed how they re caught feelings if you get what I mean? Holding on for 10years when you've both grown up and changed it a lot.
But I'm glad they had a proper conversation in the end of the book xx
I did enjoy it.,was just a few details testing me x

First off I want to thank Nina Wynter, Netgalley and her publisher for supplying me with an ARC of Still Falling for You. I received this with the understanding that I do not have to post any reviews but they would appreciate if I did.
I would probably rate this closer to a 3.75✨ but rounded up. The spice was a 1, as it was like a closed door/fade to black type of book. But there is still quite a bit of steam and tension! The story was really good and had so many lol moments. The banter and snark between characters was amazing. The FMC and MMC had a lot of trauma from different aspects in their lives but the biggest thing that came between them was miscommunication/lack of communicating with each other. Which is one of my least favorite tropes. With that said, Alex is so cute and sweet, even when he is being an *rse. Holly is also sweet and they are both so kind. I was rooting for them even when they were being hot and cold with each other. And when I found out the whole story of what came between them the first time I cried, it broke my heart. I wanted to hug their younger selves and tell them that they will be ok. In the end they finally talked it all the way through, which is where the story ended. I was hoping for an epilogue that would flash forward, any amount of time, so I could see where they went from there. I love a good epilogue because I like to see their HEA playing/played out.

Overall, this book was not bad. I liked the writing style, it was easy to follow and quick to read. I was interested in finding out what happened when they were teenagers, so I didn't want to stop reading! I enjoyed having some "flashbacks" along the story, as it made the romance between Holly and Alex more believable. Holly was a good character, it took me a little bit to warm up to her but I loved her when she started standing up and putting herself first. I loved Holly's friends (Cam and Lydia), and the moments with her mum and dad towards the end. I hated Aaron and I just wanted to scream and fight on Holly's behalf! I liked Alex but felt that his character needed a little bit more development or "screen time" as an adult, because we get so much of his life as a teenager, but I know absolutely nothing about adult Alex apart from the fact that he is assistant head at the school.
I would have liked to see more romance taking place during the present, it was a bit lacking because they basically just see each other after 10 years, and all the feelings are still there like no time had passed, which I mean, it's not bad, but people change and live a lot in 10 years! So it would have made it more enjoyable to me if we could see how those feelings slowly come back due to their interactions, rather than just immediately (even though they keep denying their feelings). I felt like the majority of their interactions ended up being negative one way or the other.
I typically enjoy slow burn books, and I like the second chance romance trope, but OH MY GOD, this was frustrating! I think because most of the issues are due to miscommunication and they could be solved with a conversation between them, but nooooo, they didn't bother to have a proper talk until the very end! I like a little bit of back and forth, but it got to be too much. The main reason for their problems was something that happened when they were 17, and I think as adults they could have just sat down and talked about it to clear the air, especially if they had to work together and keep a professional relationship. The ending felt a bit rushed, but I was just happy that they finally got together!
Thanks to NetGalley, The Book Guild, and Nina Wynter for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

"When we get to her office, Jane rummages through lost items and finds me a green T-shirt that fits snugly around my torso. It's embarrassing because I'm ninety-nine percent sure that it belonged to a child."
Still Falling for You by Nina Wynter is a second-chance workplace romance. I loved the premise, but the book fell flat. The FMC was the ultimate pick me and ultimately made the book really hard to read.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I would’ve given less stars but the writing is good, the pacing is good. Just the way it slow burn and the back and firth was frustrating to read.
Holly has had bad luck with job and men, and to trace it all because of her dad and 17yo boyfriend seems awfully heavy of a burden. But there her baggage.
She is, however surrounded by some good friends in Catherine & Lydia. Vicky was always been separated in the friends group and that was glaringly obvious.
My beef is that, I understand this is a slow burn - second chance book. But the back and forth, I hate you/ I want you just too whiplashed for me. There’s like a 3rd act squeezed at the end, why?! That could’ve been earlier in the point of the story.
Thanks to NetGalley & The Book Guild for the ARC

The premise for this book is interesting and was an easy read. I found the relationship to be lacking some communication (which is common in enemy to lovers), but that can be seen as a very human trait.
I also struggled with the character names, I felt many were introduced together and it caused some confusion for me.
There was some great banter which always makes a book worth reading. I have high hopes for future books from Nina Wynter
I have received this book from NetGalley as an eArc, all opinions are my own

This was a cute book, easy to read, good for fans of early 2000s rom-coms and British culture. Still Falling for You is about a new teacher at a school who finds herself working alongside a former flame. It was a classic romance premise, but the more I read, the clearer it became that this book was written with teachers in mind, there are a lot of terms and processes mentioned that went right over my head as someone who is neither a teacher, nor in the school system in England.
The story is a childhood friends-to-lovers/second-chance romance with a little fake dating thrown in that is told in the present day with frequent flashbacks. The flashbacks caused confusion while reading though because they weren't always clearly acknowledged as such, so often it wasn't until halfway down the next page that it mentioned "maths homework" or "curfew" that I realised we were in a flashback. Once I figured out what time we were in though, the flashbacks did help to frame the background for the characters and their motivations in a way that keeps you invested.
All in all, a quick and enjoyable read, particularly if you are a teacher in the UK or familiar with the schooling system to get the most out of it and be in on all the jokes.

Holly is starting a new teaching job after losing her last one due to school funding cuts. She’s also moving into a sketchy studio apartment that probably hid a dead body at some point—so, great start. On her first day, she runs into her grumpy new boss and mentor, Alex—aka her first love, the guy who shattered her heart. It’s been ten years, she’s over him… right? Well, maybe.
I loved this story! Holly was hilarious—constantly making ridiculous comments and being adorably clumsy. Her friendships were a highlight, with solid female support that went both ways. Alex was sweet, and his inner turmoil kept me hooked, though I wish we got more of his POV to fully understand his struggles. The flashbacks to their teenage relationship were a great touch, but the push-and-pull between them as adults was frustrating—just communicate already!
My only real complaint? No epilogue! I tapped the last page multiple times, refusing to believe it was over. I just needed one more glimpse into their future!

This was a cute and easy read, and I really liked that both main characters were teachers—it was a refreshing dynamic that added something new and interesting to the story. Holly was such a kind and sweet character, and the way she guarded her heart felt really realistic and relatable.
That said, the book didn’t quite work for me in the way I’d hoped. The plot felt a bit overloaded, with too many dramatic elements happening at once. I think the story would have been stronger if it had focused on developing one or two key conflicts rather than trying to juggle so many.
The romance itself had some great moments, but the lack of communication between Alex and Holly really frustrated me. I’m not a huge fan of the miscommunication trope in general, and this book leaned on it heavily. Since we only get Alex’s explanation for his behavior right at the end, I think a dual POV would have helped make his actions feel more understandable earlier on.
Writing-wise, I found the dialogue a little stiff at times, and some of the phrasing felt clunky, which made it harder to fully connect with the characters.
Overall, this debut novel had some enjoyable elements—especially the grumpy x sunshine dynamic and second-chance romance—but the heavy reliance on miscommunication and rushed pacing held it back for me. That said, I’m sure plenty of readers will love it!
**Tropes:**
- Second chance romance
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Lovers to enemies to lovers
- Miscommunication

I liked this book, but I did not LOVE it. I wanted to love it so bad. I wish there was more romance, more yearning, more passion from the characters. The story did not pick up for me until about 50% through. I think it was a little too back and forth/hot and cold through out the whole book for me. Kind of the same things happening over and over again just in different settings. I did love the characters and the ending was sweet, but also felt kind of rushed. I wish there was an epilogue.

⭐⭐⭐.75/🌶️🌶️ Still Falling For You by Nina Wynter is a romance about Holly, who has accepted a job teaching at a school right out of college. She's just broken up with her long-term boyfriend after she caught him cheating, so it's a new start in multiple areas of her life. This school is where she runs into her old high school boyfriend, Alex, who's also a teacher there, and her boss.
I love a dual timeline and a man who's an asshole to everyone, gooey inside for her, who will punch any guy who touches her. This was good! And it's already out and available for purchase.
💜He's her boss
💜Second chance romance
💜They're both teachers at the same school
💜Dual timeline
💜Grumpy-sunshine
💜Protective MMC

Thank you Netgalley for this eARC copy, I will be giving my honest and unbiased review.
Tropes:
Debut novel
- Second chance romance
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Lovers to enemies to lovers
- Miscommunication
This book was a very cute and easy read, I really enjoyed the fact that both of the main characters were teachers, it was something new and interesting.
I really liked how kind and sweet Holly is and the way that she guards her heart is also super realistic and relatable. I overall enjoyed the whole book but I do have to say that I’m not a fan of the miscommunication trope and I felt that there was a lot of that in this one!

Holly is part way through her teacher training when she has to move to a different school. At her new school she is working with her first boyfriend, who she dumped by text 10 years earlier. She tries to avoid Alex but as the deputy head and supervisor for her training they keep having to interact. Holly also has to deal with the others teachers, some of whom are friends, but not them all.
I liked the premise of this book, and the cattiness with some of the other teachers is realistic. There was a bit too much tell at times with a week in time being told in one page where I would've preferred a bit more interaction. I liked the characters more than the actual plot.

I liked the premise of this book but it didn’t quite deliver for me.
The plot felt like it had too many elements, too much drama and was too rushed. I think if you removed some of the points of tension and built up one or two I think it would have served the story better.
The relationship felt fairly toxic and the lack of communication between Alex and Holly really irritated me. I think the relationship would have been better developed with a dual POV rather than only getting Alex’s explanation for his behaviour in the last 2%.
The writing style also wasn’t my favourite. The dialogue felt forced and at times unnatural, and some of the phrasing seemed clunky.
Overall, I really wanted to enjoy this book, and I’m sure others will, but it wasn’t what I wanted it to be.
