Pike Logan and the “Taskforce” in their 19th novel. To my shame, I’ve missed a few of these and that’s something I need to rectify as this is a well written and exciting series.
The Taskforce are a black ops team assigned to murky tasks and to resolve issues that normal units can’t address. Here the team are tasked to an easy babysitting job which bumps into a Chinese agenda to gain control of critical minerals. Logan and his team know something is amiss but are not sure who has an agenda and how to address it and, how do they convince their oversight process to let the off the leash?
Clever stuff here. A number of conflicting agendas and different perspectives here and it all works into a complex and interesting plot. Supported by proper characterisation for both Pike’s team and their opposition and different locations.
Brad Taylor is a proper thriller writer and delivers yet another quality page turner.

Intense thriller from an author I'd not read before.
Great plot, well executed with solid characters and I managed to learn a lot too.
My sort of read.
Many thanks.

Into the Gray Zone delivers the intense action, high-stakes missions, and sharp dialogue we’ve come to expect from Brad Taylor. While it wasn’t my favorite in the Pike Logan series, it still had plenty of gripping moments and solid pacing that kept me turning the pages. The team dynamics and timely themes made it worth the read. Thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced copy!

Brad Taylor sure writes some great books and Into the Gray Zone is no exception. I am so glad eveytime I get my hands on a thriller that is not your typical Mark1/mod 0. Taylor has a good eye for unusual events and places to put Pike and Jennifer and the rest of the Taskforce. This time they are going to India to support an American during his meeting there to make a deal. What could possibly go wrong? I was captivated by this story and some of the settings where great. The different characters and the events that they encounter is also something to enjoy. If you lover of thrillers out there still haven't found this author, I can only say that you need to do better. Go get some, and dig in. It will be worth it. I must thank Head of Zeus and Netgalley for letting me read this advance copy that will be released into the wild in late April 2025.

This was a great story with well drawn characters. Brad Taylor explains what the grey zone is at the outset of the novel. Brad certainly knows how to create a good tale and I was hooked from the start of the book. Highly recommended.
