Tikiri Herath delivers a chilling and fast-paced thriller in Her Grisly Grave, a novel that grips readers from the first page and refuses to let go. With a small town on edge as bodies start to pile up, this crime thriller weaves together suspense, mystery, and an engaging protagonist who refuses to back down.

The novel’s strength lies in its relentless pacing and well-crafted tension. As paranoia spreads and trust becomes a luxury, the story delves into the psychological aspects of crime and justice. The protagonist is compelling and resourceful, made even more endearing by the presence of her loyal canine companion, which adds a unique dynamic to the storytelling.

Herath masterfully balances action with character depth, ensuring that every twist and revelation feels both shocking and earned. The final twist is particularly well-executed, leaving readers thoroughly satisfied.

For fans of serial killer thrillers with strong, determined leads and unexpected turns, Her Grisly Grave is a must-read. Tikiri Herath once again proves her ability to craft a high-stakes, gripping mystery that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.

HER GRISTLY GRAVE - I may have enjoyed this story more if I had read the previous books of this series. The characters and the story lines were interesting but the continued references to the past were distracting. There were several things that did not mesh giving a hollywood-style touch; definitely more a Cozy genre. Getting into the Griswold property and mansion, etc. Source: Netgalley. 3*

Tanya Stone FBI K9 Mystery Thrillers #6. I'm an easy sell on a police procedural that includes a K9. Tikiri Herath's statement in the synopsis, No dog is ever harmed but the villains always are, added an extra incentive to the book. A serial killer is targeting young, blond women, leaving the victims with a sunflower crown and eyes blindfolded. With each victim, FBI Agent Tanya Stone grows more certain that she knows the killer and his motives. Stone and her team work well together to find the clues and follow them to the killer. I enjoyed the first five books in this series and this one is a winner too.

Cat and mouse. Predator and prey. A psychopath is playing a deadly game with people's lives in Black Rock. He has no regard to human life. His calling card is to always leave a riddle.

Oh my goodness. This book sucked me into it's vortex from the beginning chapter. The action and chase/game is constant. There is no reprieve. The only question is who will be the next victim? The punches just kept coming. This twisty, jet-fueled thriller/mystery/police procedural explodes from page one and does not let up until the end. This is my first exceptional read by this author, but it will certainly not be my last. If you enjoy a menacing mystery with an unforgettable cast of characters, this book is just the ticket for you.

Her Grisly Grave by Tikiri Herath. This book reads like an intense psychological thriller with a mix of police procedural and personal drama.
The story revolves around a series of kidnappings and murders in Black Rock, where victims are left with blindfolds and sunflower crowns—a signature that adds a chilling, ritualistic element. The stakes escalate as the killer plays a cat-and-mouse game with FBI Agent Tanya Stone, sending riddles to a true crime podcaster before each murder. The added personal connection to Tanya’s past increases the tension and urgency. The plot is gripping, with a fast-paced mystery that keeps readers hooked. Thanks to NetGalley and to the publishers of this book for giving me a free advance copy of the book to preview and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Solid police procedural with the addition of an eclectic cast of characters and a K9 that steals the show. Some tense moments and the twist is somewhat predictable, but will entertain crime fiction fans.

Her Grisly Grave presents an intriguing premise that immediately drew me into the mysterious disappearances of blond women in the picturesque town of Black Rock. The imagery of victims found with sunflower garlands creates a haunting atmosphere that sets the tone for a psychological thriller.

FBI Agent Tanya Stone is a strong protagonist, and I love the addition of her loyal police dog, Max, which adds a nice touch to the narrative. Their dynamic brings some warmth to an otherwise dark storyline. The connection between Tanya's past and the case adds a layer of depth to her character, making her journey more personal and compelling.

However, despite the engaging setup, the pacing of the story felt uneven at times. There were some characters I just did not like (Ocean and Sahara) for some reason. They grated on me. The riddles were fun, though, and had me guessing and trying to figure things out. While the twists toward the end were surprising, they sometimes bordered on predictable.

Overall, Her Grisly Grave has some strong elements and an engaging premise, but I struggled with the pacing and clarity at times. I would check out other books by this author.

Although the plot and characters could be figured out fairly early (or I'm just a sucker for thrillers, crime series, etc), the author managed to still keep me hooked by her writing skills.

I knew what the sunflower symbolised immediately, why those targeted were chosen, and who the culprit would be almost immediately. However, I'd hoped for a grander climax.

I knew what was coming, yet I still held my breath at times. I read the first couple of chapters and put it down until the next day. The next day I devouered the rest!

Well written, fast paced but quite predictable. If you are into crime thrillers, and need an easy read, this is the book for you.

A killer’s deadly riddle. An agent’s dark secret. A twisted psychological game gone wrong…. In the affluent seaside town of Black Rock, beautiful blond women vanish, one by one. The victims are discovered in unusual places, eyes blindfolded and heads crowned with sunflower garlands. A chilling calling card from a twisted mind who enjoys psychological games. With Max, her faithful police dog by her side, FBI Agent Tanya Stone is on the case. They race against time, on the hunt for a cold-blooded criminal! Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! Great read! It had fantastic suspense, murder, mystery, intriguing, action, gaslighting, a sort of who done it and a few wild twists! The storyline was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
