Two things I really love, F1, Romance and Books!!! This was so cute and such a quick, fun and easy read!!

I rated this 3.5 stars

I really enjoyed when we met Ava in Lights out, and how her podcast became the reason Masie & Gio met. So I was happy when I found out that Falling Fast was going to be her story.

First things first I had no clue whatsoever on how to say Leif’s name, in my head it was Leaf. I have no clue if that was correct or not.

I enjoyed their relationship development and it was nice that it didn’t feel rushed. It’s a very much of a slow, slow burn story and there isn’t much spice. This is definitely a he falls first story, I’m pretty sure he was gone for her as soon as he saw her. He just hides it for a while. I love he falls first stories.
I love how strong and independent Ava is, and this story shows her growing even more. She’s got a past and she absolutely adored Quezada Racing for helping her through that hard time, but I loved seeing her create a family and with Rask Racing.

The topic of F1 is very heavy in this book but it explains it well and any non F1 fan won’t be lost and confused throughout. I’m excited to see who the next book in the series could be about.

I’m giving this book 3.75 stars.

I really loved Ava in Lights Out and getting little snippets of her F1 podcast, so I was more than thrilled to return for her own happy ending! Ava was definitely made to be in the world of F1, she was enthusiastic and determined to make Rask the company it deserved to be. Leif was an absolute delight, he was the perfect grump but underneath all of that carried a soft interior. When the mistaken tension between the two finally slipped away, he was a gentle and caring man who doted on Ava. There was a lot of miscommunication which is why this book ended up being a 4 stars for me, if the miscommunication wasn't there, this would have been an easy 5 stars but it got to a point where I felt frustrated towards the two of them not just speaking up because it could have been easily resolved and we would have been able to spend more time enjoying them. Besides the miscommunication, this was a perfect read, I adored Ava and Leif and the F1 aspects were once again really fun to follow. I'm hoping Jenni has another up her sleeve!

I really liked Ava’s character from ‘Lights Out’ so excited to read this one - especially when I found out the male lead was Leif!

Formula One fan Ava has just started a new job - she loves everything about it, apart from their driver Leif, who’s cold shoulder should put her off but the sparks keep flying! When she’s assigned as his media officer their close proximity ranks up the tension and those sparks turn into flames - can they keep their ‘careers on track, or will their insane chemistry steer them both off-course?’

Leif was shy and sweet - he was so gone for her from the start. Just such a likeable MMC. She thinks he doesn’t like her but he’s just shy!

I absolutely loved Ava as the FMC - she was strong and determined, having overcome difficult things in life. Working in F1 was her dream and she was determined to reach her goals!

Overall I enjoyed their relationship, but there were some red flags I can’t ignore! There was a lack of communication between them and they could’ve avoided a whole lot of issues by just telling each other the truth and being more open about their futures. Miscommunication is my least favourite trope, and in the real world adults discuss things before making decisions - they don’t just guess what the other person is going to do and get annoyed when they make the ‘wrong’ choice. They could’ve been so much better as a couple if they’d just talked things through sooner!

Really enjoyed the cameos of characters from book one - see how their lives were getting on etc.

I can’t wait for the next instalment - I’m intrigued to see whose story we get next. I’m hoping for Quinn!

A good heart warming story, throughly enjoyed the F1 aspect of the story, well worth a read even if your not a F1 or sports fun in general.

This F1 Romance had me hooked from the very beginning because I related to the fact that there was this job I so desperately wanted and could not get so I went for the next best thing. I hope I get that chance again. But moving on to the book.

Leif & Ava brought the best in each other. I kind of didn't like Ava at a lot of places but the reason behind her being the way she was kind of justified. I mean she could have discussed it a lot earlier but it is what it is.

Leif was a darling through and through and I enjoyed the book a lot.

Thanks to Penguin Random House UK Children's | Penguin for my advanced reader copy of Falling Fast by Jenni Flecther

Another book mentions Formula 1, which is an excellent read for those sports romance fans 01 we are following Ava Yearwood, who can't quite believe her luck when she lands a job at Rask Racing. She loves F1 riding.

This is such a fun read, and I like Leif, even if he is quite a stoick-type character, meaning he fits the typical hero mould. But it suits him and adds to the charm of the story.

Though I could see where the story was going from the start, I still enjoyed the development of Ava and Leif. They made me smile

if you want a book with F1 and a nice, sweet ending, this book is for you

This is an utterly adorable read! I didn't think I could ever be a reader of sports romance, but I've been an enormous fan of Jenni Fletcher for years so I knew she could hook me anyway, and she did. I loved Lights Out, and I think I loved Falling Fast even more! Ava and Leif are completely lovely as a couple, and I adored the coziness of the Rask workplace - even when it was hectic, it still felt like such a nice place to be and to spend time as a reader. The romance is a wonderful enemies-to-lovers journey, and the ending is gorgeously heartwarming. Just perfect!

This is my second F1 book - I’m a fan!

I still know almost nothing about F1, but I loved Ava and Leif.

Some spice. Some miscommunication.

F1 isn’t really something that’s captured my attention, though I have enjoyed a couple of episodes of Drive to Survive, so I thought I’d give this a try!
I haven’t read Lights Out by the same author, and this story is quite interconnected, but I felt like I was brought fairly up to speed with all the characters, enough to feel like I wasn’t missing anything too important.
I prefer a slower burn, and I did expect a little more spice than we got, but overall I enjoyed the story, and I was really rooting for Leif. I want to know what happens for him in seasons to come, so I’ll keep an eye out for future titles in the series, and I’ll be watching more Drive to Survive in the meantime!

This is great. Just the right amount of F1 action and car and engine talk, just the right amount of friends and family interference and a perfect dollop of romance running all the way through. The romance is cute, and whilst the direction of the story is not a huge surprise, the lovely meandering journey is delightful. The book keeps up a good pace and kept me hooked as the F1 season developed and drew towards a close and action was happening on and off the stage. There is also sensitive handling of mental wellbeing issues which was appreciated. A must read on a cosy night in.

I generally enjoyed reading the book but it wasnt until the end that I reflected that both characters were a bit flat. There wasn't much interaction between them for a romance and they had no chemistry. There is long detail about work and what's happening around them but hardly any dialogue or funny interactions

Formula 1 superfan Ava Yearwood can’t quite believe her luck when she lands a job at Rask Racing. Ava loves everything about working for the team . . . everything except their devastatingly attractive driver, Leif Olsen. His cold, brooding attitude should put her off, but frustratingly sparks fly during their every interaction. Ever the professional, Ava is determined to avoid Leif at all costs. But when she’s assigned as his Media Officer, there’s just no getting away from him – and the flames smouldering between them begin to heat up… Can Ava and Leif keep their careers on track, or will their insane chemistry steer them both off-course?

Ava is a character I have been introduced to previously and really wanted to know more about. And I am so glad I did! She’s organised, dedicated and a habitual rule follower. However, we get to see her walls get broken down and her rulebook flung out the window. Seeing Ava gradually open up more and more over the course of the story was fantastic. The world from her eyes is one that can feel too chaotic without things being put into place but Ava has taught me here that letting go is okay! It’s okay if something spontaneously comes up and ruins your plans. Not everything needs to be rigidly planned out. Not to mention that it’s okay if your dreams take a different course or the details of it change! What a brilliant character Ava is!
I was unsure of Leif in the beginning - just like Ava was. He seemed aloof and impersonal and not someone I would necessarily want to read about. But I am so glad I didn’t go off first impressions. Yes, they are important but a person can change and the initial meeting doesn’t have to be the be all and end all. Leif is a secret teddy bear really. He has a past that was hard but does his best to be a positive influence and helps others in the situation he used to be in. It was great seeing him open up more and more - especially in Ava’s presence. I think he ended up in a brilliant place at the end of this book. Will we see more of him in the future? I hope so!

I am not a big F1 fan - I’ll admit to finding it rather boring. However, since I thoroughly enjoyed Fletcher’s Light Out F1 romance, I knew I just had to dive in to this one. The plot is brilliant and fast paced - if you’ll pardon the pun. What I love is that it is in the same world as Lights Out, bringing back the main characters in a supporting role and bringing others into the light. I really enjoyed getting to see the unexpected success and satisfaction that’s included, showing that you can find joy in the unlikeliest of places. I will say that some of the jargon confuses me a little bit, however it’s all written simply so the reader can understand - at the very least - the general idea of what is going on. I did find though, that as the book went on I was understanding things more and more! The characters were wonderfully written. It felt like I was truly in Ava’s head, experiencing everything with her and feeling her emotions strongly. I always love getting to delve deeper into previously seen characters - especially those who featured quite a lot but we got more surface level details. The other characters were great as well. All were written with enough background detail that they never felt like fillers for the story. They all had a part to play in moving things along and also enhancing the overall plot. Now, I love a reluctant romance. Enemies to lovers is an ultimate favourite trope of mine and whilst that isn’t necessarily included in this story, we get little hints of it in the beginning. The romance we see is so fluffy and warm and gentle that I knew I had a smile on my face and I was desperate to kick my feet in joy. Why can’t I find a partner with such abilities for romance?! We do get a few little spicier moments but they still carried this wonderful warm and tender tone. It helped elevate the romance we witnessed but also allowed the reader to establish deeper connections to these wonderful characters which I loved. The ending was a perfect culmination of events. I loved where the characters ended up - and that there are plenty of opportunities to expand this universe further with multiple characters! I can’t wait to see what is next from Fletcher.

Overall, Falling Fast is another outstanding F1 romance from Fletcher that I highly recommend people read!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This novel is a fantastic Formula 1 romance, following the characters Ava and Leif, as they work on balancing their careers in the industry and their budding desires for each other.

Ava was such a determined character despite her anxiety making tasks more overwhelming for her, and had big ambitions for advancing her career.

Discovering the soft interior under grumpy Leif was really sweet to see unfold. I enjoyed his character and loved how gentle and caring he was towards Ava.

I felt like the author was quite knowledgeable about F1, and applied lots of little details and technical knowledge to make this novel feel authentic, and I was really immersed in the environment due to this!

Once Ava and Leif started dating, a lot of the time they spent together was off page, so it was only told to the reader, rather than experiencing it along with the characters and watching their feelings grow. I would have liked to see more meaningful discussions between them. There was a lot of exciting tension and buildup, but unfortunately I felt like it lacked romantic moments because the jump from them becoming secret lovers to boyfriend and girlfriend was really fast.

I loved what spice we did get in this novel. It was exciting and very well written, but I expected quite a bit more. Ava and Leif were super lustful and couldn't stop staring at each other. I was looking forward to them finally being together, but there wasn't as much steamy scenes as I had hoped; especially since this novel is described as being for adult readers, and was compared to some very spicy books.

I did become frustrated by all of the conflicts occurring in this book because they were all due to miscommunication. I know a lot of readers don't love this 'trope' but I'm quite used to reading it. However, the lack of communication, hesitation to discuss deep feelings, and ignoring her boyfriend for two months led to things becoming really messy and unnecessarily complicated. I understand Ava's hesitation to confront the issues she was experiencing, but I found what her character did really cruel, especially because her boyfriend was left feeling like he was a horrible person, all while he had to do his best performance in a race.

Otherwise, this novel was really good. I wish more of the focus had been on Ava's ptsd - as the reader spends the majority of the novel in the dark about what Ava has experienced in her past - and Leif learning about her past and helping her. Leif doesn't find out what has made her so wary of romance until the last few pages, which meant the miscommunication that occurred throughout the book was only added to by him not being able to understand her reluctance.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this!

Just as the characters did, I fell pretty fast into loving this story. Both Ava and Leif were rounded, well thought out characters with a great, soft storyline. The third act drama was very well paced and even though I’m not a huge fan of miscommunication, it worked for me, which is really saying something.

It’s a refreshing f1 book for me, a simple concept incredibly well written. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this as an ARC, I consider myself very lucky

This is a follow up from the first book, although can be read as a stand alone but will give spoilers to the first book.
It’s a great book for any F1 romance lovers, although it did explain bits for those new to the sport
Enjoyed seeing how the characters relationship built up over time and was always wanting to keep reading to find out what was going to happen… only shame is I felt the ending was a little rushed

LOVED IT!!!!!!
5 stars.
Cute realistic banter, three dimensional characters and INCREDIBLE competence porn. So much detail on F1, but not enough to bore non-fans like me.
very very minor detail that I didn’t like (very minor!) was the fact that I couldn’t keep up with all the secondary characters.

The core theme in this, like it's predecessor, is "assuming makes an ass out of you and me". Am I guilty of it too IRL? Absolutely. Still drives me crazy in books though.

It was just as fun as Lights Out, and perfect for F1 lovers. Though I wasn't as huge of a fan of Ava and Leif, as I was Maisie and Gio. Their chemistry wasn't quite as hot, but it makes sense given who the characters are. We also got to see Maisie and Gio, which was great, and they got me through the first little bit of the book, because "What do you mean they're having problems?!" Realsitic, but still stressful. Anyhoo..

Fletcher manages to spend quite a bit of time on more specific F1 aspects, but still makes it digestible to newcomers too, so you don't need an expansive understanding to enjoy it.

You could feel Ava's nervous energy radiating off the pages, and I felt like she was a lot more one track minded, and less funny than we had previously seen her, but we didn't know her back story then.

There are some minor pacing issues, and the characters felt a little one dimensional, but it's a fun and easy read regardless.

My personal gripes is that I think Leif took her back to easily. But you do stupid stuff when you're in love, she technically had an explanation but I felt like "I've gone to go to therapy to work on myself" should've been included in the apology, and plenty of FMCs have taken back their SOs for doing worse so....

My initial vibes based rating was a 4, I'd probably move it down to a 3.5 now. But I don't regret reading it one bit, and definitely recommend others to try it.

Thank-you to NetGalley and Penguin Books for allowing me to read this ARC.
