I have mixed feelings about this book. The writing style was really engaging, and I liked the characters enormously. I particularly enjoyed part 2, once I’d got my head around the time slip aspect.
Two issues lead me to rate the book as 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4). Firstly, the ending didn’t satisfy me. It’s obviously set up so that this book leads into the sequel, but I was left feeling let down rather than wanting more.
Secondly, I’m not sure if I was misled by the blurb or if I just didn’t get the hint that this might be historical fantasy, not historical fiction. If I’d anticipated and understood that this is a time slip before I started reading, I would have enjoyed it much more. This issue is more than likely down to the publisher’s marketing and not the author. In my view, it would be good to make this clear to avoid annoying other readers who prefer their historical fiction straight rather than with magical or fantasy elements.
I’d say this book will be loved by anyone who loves Jenni Keer or Cecilia Ahern’s stories. The story bowls along and made me feel nostalgic for the 1980s, with so much detail that brought it to life. The dialogue sparkles and I really wanted the characters to get their happy endings.
Thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What a refreshing cozy book.
The first in 2 a series I felt you get to know the story, characters and direction really well. So you easily become invested in the setting and characters. It has warmth and a touch of magic. It has a timeline of years and romance. What more could you want.
Sabrina was enveloped into Evelyn love when she turned up.as a young girl having been separated by her mum. The mystery of her past and why leaves sabrina with a heart to heal. And a few issues to boot. Not least of trust or fearing being abandoned. So we she meets Adam things get heart. Because this will involved trust and bravery.
Then the bridal shop offers her a chance to solve her own mystery.
Will she be brave in order to move forward. How much of her identity will be based on what she finds?

This book is a show stopper - one I would give to my friends. I would buy multiple copies of this book for people! Beautifully crafted, richly detailed with captivating characters. I was not fully prepared to completely fall in love with this book!

This book follows Sabrina, she was abandoned by her mother as a little girl then raised and trained by Eve (Evelyn) the historical bridal shop is all she's ever known until she met handsome Adam; realising that the only for her to overcome the fear of abandonment is to investigate her past and her identity.

This book took me a bit to get into but once the book got rolling I couldn't wait to see what happens in the end. This book was such a cosy magical read; truly heartfelt, the characters were loveable on their own just as much as the entire town warm atmospheric vibes! Throughly enjoyed it. I definitely want to come back for the rest of the series in the future.

This starts with Sabrina Flooks and her mother being separated on a busy street, then continues with her living and working with her (Aunt Evelyn) a love her bridal shop in Bond Street. Sabrina and her close friend Florence (Flo) work hard in the shop but also know how to enjoy life. They decide to have an evening out where Sabrina meets Adam Taylor who promises to make contact in the coming days, when this doesn’t happen Sabrina is so disappointed. What could have happened to him?
Then the story goes back to 1928 in the Muldoon household, maid Jane Evans is unsure when the son of the house Sidney returns and starts to show an interest. Jane thinks that nothing can come of this due to class divide. It’s her friendship with other servant Sabrina that helps to make Jane’s life bearable, especially when Sabrina comes up with a plan for Jane to be able to go out with Sidney in secret. What will become of this?

To be honest, I don’t feel that the synopsis gives a proper idea of the story. At first I felt put off and would have given up were it not for the fact I was reviewing it. That said I’d grow to like the actual story and am just about to read the next one.
