I love Portia Macintosh’s books and this one is no exception. Molly is the narrator. She’s the maid of honour for her best friend, dealing with a break up and worried about her job. A pre wedding hen holiday in Spain sounds just what she needs until their villa is double booked and they end up having to share with a stag party. A competition to see who gets to stay in the villa is the obvious thing to do. For the hens and stags it is hate at first sight or is it?
This is the perfect beach read with laughs and romance and a great heroine. Loved it!

Another brilliant 5 star read from Portia Macintosh.
Mollys best friend is getting married in Spain and the hens decide to go over early to relax in style in a luxurious villa. It all sounds perfect until they arrive and find it’s been double booked by a group of stags.
What follows is a hilarious battle of the sexes, involving lots of crazy games and quizzes.
The characters were excellently written and I absolutely loved Travis. The setting was just perfect and I could just picture them all sitting under a palm tree by the pool.
Thanks to NetGalley, Portia Macintosh and Boldwood Books for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

This was my first book to read by Portia Macintosh, it's a delightful and entertaining romantic comedy that will keep you hooked from start to finish. With a perfect blend of humor and romance, this is such a fresh and fun story. I would recommend this book!

I had no idea what to expect when I started this book, but it pulled me in right away. The main character is dealing with a breakup, so a bachelorette trip to Spain with her friends seems like the perfect escape. But things take a turn when they arrive at their villa—only to find out it's been double-booked with a group of men.

From that moment, everything is unpredictable in the best way. The tension between the two groups is sharp, full of quick comebacks, unexpected moments, and the kind of energy that keeps you hooked. Nothing feels forced—it’s messy, funny, and chaotic, just like real life when personalities clash in a situation no one planned for.

Beyond the villa’s madness, there’s something deeper happening. Between all the fun and rivalry, the main character is finding her way through the mess, not just of the trip but of her own emotions. It’s not a simple story about moving on—it’s about embracing the unexpected and realizing that sometimes, the best moments come from situations we never saw coming.

I have read most of Portias books, and they are always guaranteed to be a fun read.
I really enjoyed the sexy villa, Love Islandesque vibes. Molly and Travis were attracted to each from the start and it was great to watch their storyline develop. A perfect story to enjoy by the pool!

This book was so cute! It's seriously the perfect beach read. I wish it were a little longer because I wanted more at the end. But it's a perfect mix of a romcom and a reality competition show. Four friends go on vacation to Spain for a bachelorette trip. The villa they booked ended up being double booked with a group of four men who were also there for a bachelor trip. Both trips were booked for two weeks with a wedding at the end of the first week. They decide to have a competition to see who gets to stay in the villa for the second week.

This book was hilarious, heartwarming and sweet. It's a great read and I will definitely be recommending this one as a summer beach read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

This is not my first book by this author so I knew what to expect an it didn’t disappoint!

This book was cute, funny with a bit of surprises at the end. I loved pop culture references and emotional moments were really cute.
The only thing I would add is how the second week looked like.

I haven't read any books by Portia Macintosh before, though she seems to have written loads. But I'm apparently in my romcom era, so thought I'd give her a go.

Our protagonist here is Molly, soon to be chief bridesmaid for best friend Louise, and recently dumped by her own boyfriend for having the nerve to imagine they too might get engaged. The wedding is in Spain and the girls - Molly, Lou, Nita and Willow - have booked a gorgeous villa for them all to stay in pre-wedding.

But - yikes! - there's been an admin blunder of monstrous proportions and the villa has been double-booked with a bunch of guys. Lucky they're all hot. But the villa ain't big enough for all of them.... let battle commence.

There are a lot of references to Love Island, which I've never watched, so these would probably have been more meaningful if I had. Nonetheless it was a fun read and I liked the characters, even if I didn't really get invested in Molly's love life. (Harry and Nita were probably a more interesting pairing.)

An enjoyable read and I definitely wouldn't be put off reading more of Portia's books.

First of all I’ve read a lot of Portia’s books and I always love them! This book was no different. I love the plot, the girl vibe and the friendships. I always love that Portia can make me laugh and also swoon. Will be for sure recommending this book.

I think this book highlighted how competitive I am and also that I’m not very forgiving as there were parts of this story I totally disagreed with thinking I wouldn’t have backed down like some of the characters did but clearly that says more about me! I did enjoy the banter and the funny frustrations of the situations they found themselves in.
Thoroughly enjoyable book.

This book was such a delight! It’s rare for a book to make me genuinely laugh out loud, but Portia Macintosh never fails to deliver.

The characters were all incredibly lovable, but Nita stood out as my favorite side character—sharp, witty, and absolutely hilarious, especially when paired with Harry!

As for the main characters, Travis was the ultimate gentleman—sweet, kind, and total book boyfriend material. Molly, on the other hand, was confident, fiercely loyal to her friends, and an absolute joy to follow.

Portia Macintosh has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I only discovered her a couple of months ago, but I’ve already devoured almost her entire collection (and she’s written a lot!).

Another fantastic 5-star read!

A huge thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Like something out of a reality TV show, we have a group of guys and a group of girls who have double-booked a beautiful Spanish villa and must sort out who gets to stay. It is war? Is it love? Who is lying and who is telling the truth? Filled with hijinks and laugh out loud moments, the book is also quite relatable in its raw and emotional moments. Take this book with you on holiday!

It’s my first book by the author, and I really enjoyed it. A really fun, quick read with very witty writing and the characters were relatable and clever, even the ones you hate to love.

As someone who loves reality tv, I enjoyed the references to it throughout. So silly and so much fun. If you enjoy Love Island like myself, you’ll enjoy this book :) I’m looking forward to reading more of her books.

I’d like to begin by thanking Boldwood Books for accepting me to be a reviewer, this was my first acceptance from netgalley and I will remember this book forever because of that.

BUT NOT ONLY THAT, this book was suuuuch a feel good book for me! Not only are these 2 groups of friends on the most beautiful holiday, but they’re also all single and hot? MA’AM WE ARE EATINGGGGG IT UP! I’ve never had a book make me laugh SO hard, which I think honestly is what we all need right now. A good lighthearted read, lots of laughs, and I swear to you- the perfect ending. The ending we all want and need!

THANK YOU for yet again, another masterpiece Portia Macintosh!

I loved this latest one by Portia. It was sunshine, holiday vibes, romance all wrapped up together. The MC was so relatable too and the way it was written was so addictive and easy to read.

The idea of the villa being double booked and the comedy that followed with the challenges made for a lighthearted read. As always I will be recommending this one of Portias. Her books are always lighthearted with wit and comedy and Ofcourse the illusive romance meaning you get sucked into the world of the characters for some much needed escapism.

Okay, first things first, I actually love the book cover! Normally I'm not all too keen on the cartoonish covers, but for some reason this one really delighted my eyes. I think it's really well done and I love the colours. Also, the tagline "This towel ain't big enough for the both of us" was what secured me into wanting to read Too Hot to Handle.

The book has a fairly simple premise. A villa is double booked and so comes the games of who gets to keep the villa for the following week. It'd be a great beach read. Short and simple, it never asks for too much from the reader. It'd be a great palate cleanser between reading heavier books, but there was still some little issues I had.

Molly, the female main character, was a bit drab. She's not a fairly charming character. If anything, she's a blank sheet of paper. I had hoped that mopey Molly had some development where she learnt to loosen up, became less uptight and more fun, but sadly, she didn't really carry the story well enough to become a fully rounded character. Now, in terms of the actual story, we do have a bit of set up. We see Molly in Leeds living her normal going through-the-motions life, but it felt almost unnecessary. I didn't see the point of learning about Dean (the ex) or even wallowing about him. I also didn't really see much point of anything of these pre-holiday chapters. This makes a good chunk of the book a little needless, and for me, is what made Molly a bit of a bore. I just wanted to skip to the villa antics, because after all, that's what the book's premise was about. All in all, Molly wasn't alone in her character faults. We learn little to nothing about Travis, the main male character too. All of the characters aren't really fleshed out as well as I thought they could've been, and this makes the book a little rushed. It focused on the wrong things; Did we need the random lad's holiday group at the airport? It just made the stag do guys at the villa feel like a rehash of the same thing. Did we also need to see Molly go back to Dean's flat to grab a toothbrush? It was obvious he wasn't important to the story.

But despite all of this, the book never felt like a drag to read. I just wish it had a bit more passion thrown into it. A bit more humour, like the tagline.

Fun in the sun paired with forced proximity, sprinkled with a little rivals to lovers with a sweetheart MMC!
I couldn’t put this down and devoured it in less than a day.
The banter between the guys and the girls was on point (I’ll never be able to smell anything mango scented without laughing again).

I did find it took a little while to get going and the storyline between the MMC and FMC felt a little rushed but I did love the references to Love Island sprinkled through too!

Overall I enjoyed the book and will absolutely recommend it to others!

This book was so good that I had to read it all in one day! Such a cute “rom-com” style romance! I felt like the main character was someone I could really relate to. In this story, the villa they are staying in is accidentally double booked. They are there for a girls trip and the other group is a group of guys. The romantic tension and cute banter adds a lot to this story. While it may not be the most realistic story, the characters are all relatable. Such a fun read!
