I've read similar novels where a child is missing so was interested to see how this would pan out. It was a good read overall, but similar to many others I've read before. That being said, it was well written and I did enjoy it overall.

My little girl has vanished. And I can’t tell anyone! My nine-year-old daughter Hollie should be leaving school smiling and laughing with all the other children but she’s not here. I run frantically, checking everywhere, my voice growing louder, but I can’t see her bright blue eyes and heart shaped face anywhere. Pure panic washes over me. This is my worst nightmare! Great chilling thriller! This book had great suspense, mystery, murder, past dark secrets, and some crazy twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Started off ok but bit of a weird storyline which didn't quite do it for me.

Elizabeth's daughter goes missing during a disco. She enlists the help of her estranged sister, Sasha, who seems to uncover the clues before Elizabeth does.

This is the first book I have read by JD Kirk. I would like to read more.
The plot of this book was good, and the twist was phenomenal, but I found the characters undeveloped.
I had to find out why Elizabeth could not report Hollie's disappearance, it seemed odd, but I did have an inkling of her reluctance to do so.
There was a lot of what I call "filler description" in the book, which I don't like. I prefer more action and getting on with the story. However, I do recommend.

3/5 stars from me.

A Halloween school dance party disrupts Elizabeth’s quiet mundane life when she notices her daughter Hollie has gone missing at the end of the night. Elizabeth gets a strange text message letting her know that her captures have her daughter and if she wants to see her alive again to confess to the world what she did. Elizabeth’s now has to face her past life and rekindle with her sister that she hasn’t spoken to in years to help save her daughter and their future. This story was an absolute WILD ride from start to finish. I could not figure out the plot twist in this book until it was revealed. JD Kirk sure does know how to write a suspense and stressful novel that makes you question who’s who until the very last page. I truly enjoyed the nerdy Dr. Who and Godzilla references he made in this book. If you’re looking for a page turning suspenseful story, grab a cozy beverage and sit down and relax and get ready to be glued to the pages of this book cause it won’t disappoint!

My Daughter Is Missing is a gripping thriller that captured my attention from the very first page. The author intertwines themes of parental love, desperation, and the dark shadows of the past. The story begins with an all-too-familiar scenario: a parent’s worst nightmare unfolds as nine-year-old Hollie goes missing from school.

As the story unfolds, layers of tension build, revealing dark secrets. For the most part, the dialogue feels authentic, and the interactions between the characters deepen the sense of isolation and desperation felt by the characters.

I found myself constantly second-guessing what was true and who could be trusted. My Daughter Is Missing is a good read that combines the urgency of a race against time with the weight of emotional storytelling.

This book was gripping and jaw-dropping... I could not put the book down and picked it up at every opportunity I got and finished it within a couple of days!

A wonderfully clever plot, surprises at every turn. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and now I’m a firm fan. Without a doubt 5 stars - I LOVED it!

This was a book that starts within the first few pages and really had me gripped. There was a few unexpected parts and others I felt I was aware of but I didn’t expect the ending and that always gives me some satisfaction. My first by this author and I look forward to reading more. Great writing. Thanks for the early access!

Although this author has written a fair amount of books already, or me he is a new author. I am looking forward to familiarise myself with his style and story telling.

The worst nightmare a parent can go through is realising their child has gone missing. At first you might still hope they are pranking you, hiding somewhere and you hope you will hear them giggling when you come closer to their hiding place. But when you don't hear those noises and you have looked everywhere, you know you are living your darkest nightmare. 

The only thing any parent would do next is to call the police, but not Elizabeth...

As soon as you read the first page, you know what is going to happen and the tension builds.. You feel the desperation radiating from Elizabeth when she does everything she can to try and find her young daughter.

With each chapter Elizabeth's anxiety grows and you cannot help but to feel for her while your brain does overtime in trying to find out who is behind this scheme.

 Just when you think you have seen the light , another revelation leaves you speechless.

A must-read for those who love books that make your head spin, your heart beat faster and your emotions run high. 5 stars

How could Hollie have passed by me and gotten out the door? She had on a huge butterfly costume that was hard to miss.

When Elizabeth realized her daughter was missing, she frantically looked everywhere in the school but found nothing.

Sooo...why won't she call the police to help with her daughter's disappearance?

What does Elizabeth have to hide?

And then onto the scene came Sasha, Elizabeth's sister. She is wicked and evil.

MY DAUGHTER IS MISSING got quite violent and v iscious once Sasha arrived.

I wanted to tell Elizabeth to stop pretending Hollie is ok and get the police involved.

It is a tense, nerve wracking read that could have been shorter and less brutal, but the storyline will keep you turning the pages because you have to find out what is going on. 4/5

My Daughter Is Missing by JD Kirk is my first read from this author, but it will certainly not be my last.

Elizabeth adores her nine year old daughter Hollie and would do anything to protect her. When Hollie goes missing from a Halloween party at her school, Elizabeth commits to do everything she can to find her precious girl. Everything, that is, except go to the police.

I loved the building of suspense and frantic tension as Elizabeth searches for her daughter, all while desperately trying to protect her own secrets. This one is dark, deceptive, and diabolical, and I loved every word of it.

I'm not so sure about this one. It started out good, then it got too gory and I lost interest. This book covers a lot of weird topics: lots of murder and assault, sexual bondage, kidnapping, psychotic sisters. When Hollie goes missing from a school Halloween party, Elizabeth calls on her sister Sasha to help her. Lots of secrets come out: what happened to Liz's first husband, who the new teachers at school are, what her boyfriend Clive is hiding. It is almost like there were too many dark plots here in this book. I can't say I enjoyed it overall. Cut out some of the dark gory scenes, and maybe this would be a better book.

Great book. The worst feeling in the world is when your child goes missing. Nine year old Hollie goes missing and her mother has secrets. Will this family have a happy ending? Read on and find out.
