If I rate it as an educator in her fifties, this might be somewhere between 2 and 3. But if I rate it from the eyes of my Y6 students who are maturing so fast that sometimes they write about stuff that I wish they are still ignorant of, then it will be somewhere between 4 and 5. The bottomline is that I am not its target reader at all. The characters sound annoying to me, especially the mom. I am not sure if I see the reference to Jane Austen's work there. I do not hate the characters in Austen's work. But then that mom reminds me of a character my Y6 students created in her writing recently and that character was equally annoying.

So, I will give it a four. I think I need to rate it from the eyes of its target readers whom I am not though.

im not sure on this one. im not sure it hit the write notes. but i never quite new why. i didnt know whether it really was too young so the depth i crave was lost, or couldnt be added because it needed to be plicable for a younger audience.
it felt like it was trying to be a take on the pride and prejudice but in name only. i didnt get many or any of the links really. but again was that to make it relevant for a younger audience.
it wasnt bad. it just wasnt enough or it didnt grab me.
the thing is i didnt not enjoy it. and looking at it now i do think my younger self would have enjoyed it. and it is for that age group so all in all its a success.
i think im far too used to young adult hooking me in.

this was a nice fluffy book to read. I really liked the first half of the book but I do feel like the second half was bit rushed and also kind of random. I very much enjoyed my time reading this book! I also kind of want to go to Pippi beach LOL

“I’m not just your mum, I’m a hot 🔥💯 mum.” Ahhhh😝 (sadly, that was the best part of the book). The first few pages had a strong💪🏽 start (considering the rest of the book), but it all went downhill👎🏽🚫 from there.

The third-person narration completely ruined it for me. It kept jumping between dialogue💬 and third-person descriptions in a way that just didn’t sit right❌. It made everything feel detached🥴.

The perspective👁️👄👁️ changes—if you can even call them that. There’s no indicator💡 at all. One second you’re reading about Lily, and then BAM, next sentence, it’s Dorian🙈. No paragraph break, no warning⚠️. It was so confusing🧠💥.

Like, at one point, we’re told Dorian is up in his house🏠 on a cliff🗻. I assumed he was outside🛣️ or maybe looking out the window🏙️, but then the next sentence is about the local kids diving🏊🏽‍♀️ off the cliff. Turns out, we had suddenly jumped into someone else’s perspective. How was I supposed to know that😤??

I don’t usually DNF books, but I had to with this one. The writing was just not it🌚. It wasn’t an easy or seamless read at all💨. Every few sentences, we were suddenly getting another character’s perspective🕶️—except it wasn’t even a proper perspective because it was all in third person.

I try not to be harsh🗡️, but from the little I read, there wasn’t anything good about this book🪦.

Thanks Netgalley for the ARC🥴💬💥

This was such a cute romance targeted at YA, but that could be read and enjoyed by all ages! I love the mother daughter team as I think it helped with insight to make all the ya lingo and references spot on! It was a cute romance about a celebrity coming to town and the aftermath that follows. I found it very cute and sweet! Highly enjoyed
