4.25⭐️. “Blood does not go with pink!”

I enjoyed Phantasma and was cautiously optimistic that Enchantra would live up to it. It did! It throws you almost immediately into the action, with Genevieve travelling in Italy when she decides to accept an invitation to visit an old friend of her mother’s. When she arrives, it’s immediately apparent that everything is not as it seems, especially when the owner’s son (Rowin) slams the door in her face and tells her to get as far away as possible. However, as we learn early on, Genevieve is not one to take “No” for an answer and she finds herself transported into the family’s yearly, deadly game of hide and seek. Leaving is not an option and, if she is to stand any chance of surviving the hunt, she’ll need to join forces with Rowin, and so they agree to form an alliance. An alliance which is predicated on marriage, as only family members can play the game.

Like Phantasma, Enchantra was very atmospheric. I enjoyed Genevieve as a heroine, probably more than I expected to. She isn’t incredibly strong and she doesn’t have amazing powers, but she has grit and determination. She describes herself as vain, when in reality she’s just a normal girl with insecurities, looking for a place she feels like she belongs. Speaking of which, one of my favourite aspects was the found family. Bearing in mind the setting is a game in which each family member is pitted against each other, it shouldn’t work, but I found myself really invested in this family and I’m hoping we see a lot more of them in the books to come.

Laura Horowitz did a great job narrating the audiobook and I’d highly recommend the listening experience. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ALC of this book.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for letting me listen and enjoy this audiobook.

I loved Phantasma so I knew I need Enchantra and I was so lucky to receive a ALC. this second instalment follows Genevieve, Ophelia Grime’s younger sister. I almost feel like you could read these as standalones, but they are both amazing so I recommend everyone reading both books. I liked that this one also features deadly games while trapped in a house but in a completely different way. I loved that a different type of paranormal beings were show cased. I loved the family aspects and the animal familiars.
This audiobook had the same narrator as the first, Laura Horowitz and she is perfection! I’d literally listen to her recite her grocery list. She does all the voices but does such a great job.
I would strongly encourage everyone to read this book and book one.

I received an advanced listener copy and let me tell you I absolutely devoured that in one sitting. I really loved the book one in the Wicked Games Series and also really enjoyed the audio and listening experience. And Laura did a fantastic job narrating Enchantra.
In book 2, we have Genevieve Grimm. We know where the younger sister to ophelia, who is the female main character of Phantasma. And she is off to find one of her mother’s friends who happens to reside in Italy. When she does this, she gets trapped inside another mansion, basically like her sister and her did in Phantasma. So another deadly game happens. I really loved this one. It basically is the same concept of rounds just like in Phantasma. Where there are eliminations each round. I loved that this world we see a lot more different types of the hierarchy of Demons and vampires and all the different supernatural type things that you hear and read about in the beginning of the book. I also really loved our new main male character…Rowin. I really think I’m gonna do a reread of both books because I just want to see if I missed anything else and possibly get any more clues on what the third book might include.
I’m addicted to this series anything that Kaylie Smith writes I’m going to read.

Big thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for a free audiobook copy of Enchantra in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 💫
As we learned in Phantasma, the Devil's sure do love their sick games and bargains.
On a search for other Spectors like herself, Genevieve finds herself in yet another Devil's game.
Forced into a marriage of convenience, she is left fighting for her life more than once. These devil games are more deadly hide and seek rather than riddles.
To start, the narration was done very well. This wasn't dual narration, but Laura Horowitz did a fantastic job voicing each character differently.
I liked Genevieve and Rowan. The romance in this book is definitely a slow burn. At first, I wasn't really feeling their relationship.. The chemistry between them wasn't quite as electric as Ophie and Blackwell's in the first book. When they finally decided to submit to their longing, it was sizzling. *Shadow daddy style*❤️‍🔥  By the end of the book, I liked them together more than I initially thought I would.
That ending and twist thoroughly surprised me, hurt me, and then healed me again. I'm sure it will surprise y'all, too! 😊

I really enjoyed Phantasma and was excited for this sequel! It did not disappoint!! I fell in love with all the characters especially the Silver siblings - seeing the complexity of the characters due to their circumstances yet seeing slight weaknesses when it comes to family members was so loving. That being said I still wish it expanded more on Rowin and Remi’s relationship as well as Tessie’s and Barrington’s relationship.

Genevieve pleasantly surprised me in this book and i fell in love with her throughout the story. Her and Rowin’s relationship felt more romantic and developed than the couple from the first book which was perfectly finished off with the ending 🥹

I can’t wait for the next book!!

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture audio for an arc in exchange for an honest review!

I definitely recommend the audio version, it's practically a must. Laura Horowitz is exceptional with her character voices, she creates the perfect vibe. She really brings the story to life, making it feel like there’s a whole cast involved. Each character is distinct, and the emotions she conveys are spot on.

Now on to the story, I loved it. I loved the games/curse aspect. I love the characters. Genevieve is everything I could ask for in an FMC, she's perfectly balanced, and she feels realistic. Rowington had me swooning. The tension was incredible, and the banter is top tier.

And though the spice isn't as good as Phantasma, I think I like Rowin more than Blackwell.

The perfect sequel to Phantasma. It was so fun coming back to the world. Genevieve goes searching for someone like her, a younger sister of a necromancer. She arrives at a location and is thrown into something unexpected. Another deadly game must be played but this time there are no humans. Just like Phantasma, I loved the magic and spice. And this one has my favorite trope: the shadow daddy!

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook of Enchantra in exchange for my honest opinion.

If you loved Phantasma you definitely have to continue this series. Genevieve Grimm has felt adrift since her sister became head of the family and Phantasma. So when a mysterious friend of her mother’s invites her to Italy, she accepts. But has no idea what she has just gotten herself into. This book is was so good and will leave you dying to get your hands on the next one. Five stars!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for providing me with an advanced audiobook of Enchantra. As soon as I received it, I downloaded it and started listening, putting all my other books on hold.

I enjoyed this book even more than Phantasma. I was unsure if I would read it after disliking Genevieve in Phantasma, but I’m so glad I didn’t miss out. I’m completely in love with Rowin and really enjoyed the games in the story. The narrators did an excellent job.

I can’t wait for the book’s official release so I can get a copy and annotate my favorite quotes. Now, I’m eager to read books about all the Silver Siblings!

I've been in a reading slump for a while and this definitely got me out of it. This is the first book I've been excited to read all month, it's so entertaining. If you read book one, Phantasma, and though it's maybe a little too outlandish or corny I think you should give this one a try. The writing/story definitely improved. I loved all the new characters. The sister is definitely my favorite. Shout out to the curvy girls. If you want a fast-paced, entertaining romance with magic, demons, games, definitely read this. And the audiobook narrator is *chefs kiss*.

Enchantra (Wicked Games Book 2)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Enchantra has some bite!

Enchantras fabulous world is full of mystery and twisted games. Genevieve starts with a clear goal in mind but I’m not sure Rowin was part of her plan. All the intrigue made this story so hard to put down.

My absolute favorite part of Enchantra is the siblings! Oh my gosh! I cannot imagine the things that happen in that house but I really want to 😅. Seven deserves his own book because I need to understand his pining.

Fabulously mysterious shadow daddies with the power to keep you hooked.

Enchantra

I screamed out loud when granted this ARC! Phantasma was one of my top reads of 2024. This book tells Genevieve’s story as her journey to learn more about her mom’s past and her gift gets her trapped in a new game. She was warned away, but was too strong willed to listen and now, there’s no escape! Only one winner to Enchantra, the other condemned to hell.

Rowin is one of the shadow wraith siblings fighting for his life in the game. He fakes a relationship with Genevieve to let them compete as a pair. She knows she can’t trust him, but their journey together turns these enemies into lovers rather quickly !

This game was set up as a labyrinth, hide and seek type of challenges and with a dysfunctional family instead of the devils we see in Phantasma. More of a deep dive into the Grimm family and a search for where to fit in. A lot of strong and interesting side characters, which I loved!

A lot more romance here, a little less games and trials and action. Similar enough to where if you liked book 1, you’ll like this, too, but they are also each unique in their own way! Narration was excellent !

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the ALC in exchange for an honest review. Release date 4/8/25!

do you ever just sit there after finishing a book just….. in awe? that is me right now after listening to enchantra. this was absolutely incredible. i have a phantasma tattoo and now i need one for enchantra because it’s on the same damn tier. six stars. so passionate and seductive and intense and romantic and just the gothic romantasy of my dreams.

this will live in my head rent free forever because WHAT. kaylie is a witch because I don’t know how else to explain how much I love her writing and how much I want to erase my memory just to be able to listen to this again and again. also, i need to emphasise that my tattoo is a blackwell quote and he may have just been dethroned by rowin. maybe they have one cheek each. i don’t know. my brain is mush and i’m going to go cry in a corner over this book and the things it made me feel.

thank you to second sky for the arc i love you guys this is just. one of the best things i’ve ever read and i absolutely cannot WAIT FOR BOOK THREE i need it now!!!!!!!

DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND READ PHANTASMA AND ENCHANTRA.

Laura Horowitz KILLED this audiobook. I was obsessed with this book already and then her narration just made it even better. Now I feel the need to go back and listen to the audiobook of Phantasma because if this was this good then her Audible Best of the Year audiobook must be on a similar or higher level.

Enchantra is as addictive as Phantasma. There seems to be something in these books that has you begging for more as you are consuming them.
In a deadly game of hide and seek with a severely dysfunctional family, the marriage of connivence was the least of this family’s dramas. But for me this element was star of the show. I absolutely loved the couple. The hate the characters feel is definitely portrayed but this soon turns to lust with plenty of tension and banter thrown in.
The concept of hide and seek in a home had the potential to be a bit repetitive but there are plenty of changing scenes, mazes and challenges within to keep things interesting. The paranormal element was interesting and exciting to read, if not a little disturbing.
I listened to the audio at every opportunity, the narrator brought the sass and excitement. Highly recommend for dark romantasy fans!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC. This is a voluntary review of my own thoughts.

✨ This book? PURE MAGIC. ✨

Enchantra by Kaylie Smith yanked me in, spun me around, and left me absolutely feral—and I loved every second of it. Imagine a dark gothic romantasy that is dripping in secrets, a deadly magical tournament, and a smug, infuriatingly attractive rival who just might be the key to survival (or your biggest distraction… oops). Yeah, I ate this up.

Genevieve Grimm thought she was going to clear her head and dig up some normal family secret —not a soul-stealing competition where losing isn’t an option. And then there’s Rowin—dark, dangerous, and the human equivalent of a smirk. Their enemies-to-lovers banter? Chef’s kiss. The kind of tension that makes you scream into your book and text your friends in all caps.

This book has everything—twists that slap you in the face, sizzling slow-burn romance, and high-stakes magic that had me sweating. Every page is soaked in danger, desire, and that addictive kind of tension that keeps you up WAY past bedtime.

My question is... where can I sign up to the be the adoptive sister, and get an invite to a mysterious game where I get to banter and fall head over heels with a morally grey, grumpy MMC??

Laura Horowitz did a phenomenal job narrating this book. She really brought all the characters to life! I love her voice!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5 "why isn’t this a movie yet?!" stars! If you love enemies-to-lovers, marriage of wickedly dangerous games, and fantasy that sparkles with tension, this is your next obsession.

Thank you Kaylie Smith, Bookouture Audio, Second Sky Books, NetGalley for the ALC! That was such a magical and delicious journey!

Phantasma was on of my top reads of 2024. I didn't think it could get any better, BUT OMG IT DID. Enchantra was PHENOMENAL. Obsessed is an understatement. Dare I say that I liked this book even more...? Top read of 2025 for sure.

I loved Rowin. The banter shared between him and Genevieve was great. Really, Rowin was great. Add him to the list, because he's book boyfriend material.

The ending of this book was not what I expected, but it was PERFECTION. Better than I had expected really. And the epilogue?! I am so ready to see what will come next.

Laura Horowitz did an amazing job voicing the audio, and really brought Genevieve to life. I was hooked right from the beginning. She was easy to listen to, and voiced all the characters so well. I was able to distinguish the different characters with ease.

I cannot recommend this book enough. The cover. The plot. The characters. The details. Rowin. Perfection from cover to cover.

ARC and ALC review
4,5 stars

“Enchantra” by Kaylie Smith is the second book in the “Wicked Games” series.

I received and ARC from Second Sky/Forever and an ALC from Bookouture Audio via Netgalley. Opinions from this review are completely my own.

After reading and loving Phantasma, I was looking forward to Genevieve’s story. She is a strong and confident character with a sad past.
We only have her POV, so we learn about the other characters, including Rowin, from her interactions with them. Still, the characters are well developed and the mystery is a bonus. The story is told in 3rd person, but in this case it did not bother me at all as the writing is good.
Also, I listened to the audiobook while reading and it helped me immerse in the story completely.
Same as Phantasma, the book is narrated by the amazing Laura Horowitz. This is a solo narration, but she does both male and female voices very good. Also, the audiobook increases the feelings of suspense and fear in some cases. It was a nice experience.

This book had a lot of things that kept me entertained and I finished it in 2 days.
The action takes place in a cursed palace in Italy, the characters are immortal beings with magic powers, there is a competition run by a devil and a marriage of convenience. The pace of the story is medium to fast and there are a few twists.
We also have the romance part, with a lot of tension, a morally gray wraith with tattoos and many piercings and forced proximity.

I’m looking forward to a new book in this series.

I finished this audiobook in one sitting. Is there some form of drug in these books? I actually cannot get enough. Narration was perfect. Loved the forced proximity. This book scratch certain parts of my brain I didn’t know needed to be scratched.

I will read book 3 the moment it hits the shelves, mark my words.

Enchantra introduces us to Genevieve Grimm, a compelling protagonist who embarks on a perilous journey to Enchantra—a cursed palace in Italy shrouded in mystery. Genevieve then finds herself trapped in this sprawling estate, forced to enter a deadly game watched by a demonic audience. Her only shot as survival is to marry Rowin, a shadow wraith. However, she will be competing against her new in-laws!
I loved Genevieve as a character in Phantasma so I was very excited to follow her story. She is a compelling protagonist who is the opposite of a damsel in distress; she’s smart, stubborn and witty.
Rowin, the newest shadow daddy on the scene, is absolutely swoon worthy! The chemistry between Rowin & Genevieve is palpable, and the evolution of their connection is both heartfelt and intense. These two left me swooning, kicking my legs and smiling stupidly on my commute to work!
The secondary characters, the Silver siblings, are highly dysfunctional, each bringing unique elements to the story that enrich the overall experience.
Kaylie's writing style is both witty and fast-paced, making it difficult to put the book down. The narrative is peppered with humor and the high stakes game keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Kaylie has done it again! I didn’t think anything would top Phantasma but I love this even more! Enchantra is the kind of book that completely consumes you, pulling you into a darkly magical world filled with intrigue, power, and unforgettable characters. If you loved Phantasma, I highly recommend Enchantra; the stakes are higher and the romance plot is chef kiss.
