This review is a little chaotic with all my random thoughts but overall I think if you liked Phantasma and want more of that same vibe/plot then you’ll like Enchantra. I was given an advanced audio copy so here’s what went through my mind:

I love Genevieve lol her sass toward Rowan if everything!!

“My wife”

This honestly feels like the same as Phantasma like lowkey a copy paste in regard to demons/devils, life threatening trials/games, the tension, the sassy FMC and broody MMC, being stuck in a mansion… it’s like the author had an idea and wrote the same book twice just in different fonts (I don’t necessarily think this is a bad thing!!)

Umbra, Rowan’s little fox familiar was so cute! (I need fan art NOW)

Seven and Ellen are my fav Silver siblings!! I want books from them tbh

What’s with all the dead or dying mothers in this series??

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the arc

Fake dating a shadow daddy in an Italian estate filled with deadly games, cursed families, and a giant hedge maze? Yeah, Kaylie Smith understood the assignment.

✨ Enchantra takes the dark whimsy of Phantasma and levels it up with a spring equinox setting in Tuscany, a broody shadow-wraith MMC, and an FMC who is all personality and chaotic energy. Genevieve Grimm is the anti-damsel in distress I needed—she’s not a “chosen one,” not waiting around to be saved, but if Rowin Silver (aka shadow daddy) offers to detangle her hair, she’s not saying no.

💀 The Silver family? Peak found family dysfunction, where bonding means actually trying to kill each other. The sibling dynamics, the masquerades, the secret rooms, the touch her and die energy—it’s all here.

🔥 The romance? More slow burn, more earned, more emotional than Phantasma. The stakes are high, the banter is chef’s kiss, and Rowin and Vivi actually communicate (a rarity, I know).

Final rating? 4.5⭐—If you loved Phantasma, you’ll eat this up.

☠️ Murderous found family
💍 Marriage of convenience and fake dating
🎭 Masquerades & fancy ball gowns
🖤 Shadows vs. sunshine
🐦 Cute animal companions
🔥 Slow-burn romance that simmers before it boils

Ready or not, the game has begun—and Enchantra is the binge read you 100% need.

A really satisfying follow-up to Phantasma — actually I think I loved this one even more than book one! The chemistry between the leads was there, and Rowin was the most *swoon worthy* MMC. The entire Silver family is SO incredibly fun, and I hope we see more of Rowin’s family in book 3 (I can’t wait!). This may be one I love enough to pick up a shelf trophy of.

On the audiobook specifically, Laura Horowitz is back and she doesn’t miss — I’ll listen to anything she narrates. She brings Genevieve to life and has me a little head over heels for Rowington Silver.

I wasn't sure what could follow Phantasma, but hot dang, Smith did it - new games with new high stakes. I'm actually not sure which I enjoyed more - Phantasma or Enchantra.

The narration for this audiobook was phenomenal, now I want to re-read Phantasma via audiobook! I flew through this in under 24 hours, Smith definitely writes bingeable stories you don't want to put down.

Imagine meeting your new in-laws and they are encouraged to kill you - but, you have a sexy new fake hubby with an adorable familiar on your side. These siblings put mine to shame, as do their "birthday traditions" and I was grinning like a fool during the spicy scenes 🥵

A few of the many things you will find:

💀 Childhood games, made deadly
💀 Marriage for convenience
💀 Pierced & tattooed shadow daddy
💀 Touch her and die
💀 Spicy rewards
💀 Kinda found family?

I'm ready for more from Kaylie Smith!

While I really enjoyed the FMC, unfortunately this book was a bit too similar to Phantasma in terms of the structure, plot twists and ending making me feel like I had already read the book before.

I absolutely LOVED this book!!! I loved that it picked up right where Phantasma ended and had the same gothic vibes. It’s dark, it’s sexy and everything I wanted the sequel to be (and more). The banter between Genevieve and Rowin was top-notch. The spice wasn’t quite as good as Phantasma but Rowin has…. piercings👀 yes PLURAL. The plot twist was a shock and ripped my heart out then sewed it back up and tied a bow on it!

I can’t wait for book 3 - fingers crossed Sevin gets his own book because that mans stole the SHOW!

The goods:
🖤 marriage of convenience
🖤 shadow MMC
🖤 enemies to lovers
🖤 trials

Thank you to Kaylie & Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen this early! I’m leaving this review voluntarily🖤

I loved this book! I have to admit, I was a bit apprehensive because I had read Phantasma (and loved it), but I couldn’t really like Genevieve. However, through this book, I got to know her and understand her motivations.

Let me give you a few reasons to read it:
- The book is set in Italy
- Dysfunctional family
- Deadly game
- A fox
- Shadow daddy
- Forced proximity/marriage
- Touch her and die

This book was sexy, fun and dark. It completely grabs your attention from the very first chapters. I loved the dynamic between Genevieve and Rowin, both characters are incredible and had amazing chemistry.
The ending really surprised me, and I found it beautiful—it melted my heart. Rowin, I love you!
I’m excited and hoping for more books in this series!

This was a banger!!! Loved it so much more than the first book. I love the “my wife” trope so much and the game I thought was much more interesting to me.

Listen y’all, I know this book isn’t officially out yet but I want the next book so bad already. I was blown by how AMAZING this was. I can’t stop thinking about it and I fear I never will.

The writing, the characters, the romance, the plot…it was all SO well done. I’m not sure why I’m so shocked that I enjoyed this book so much since Phantasma was my favorite read of last year. The last few chapters had me holding on to dear life and I’m pretty sure I’ve never clenched my jaw harder.

The audiobook narrator, Laura Horowitz, does an incredible job at making these characters come to life. I’m pretty sure it’s due to her voice acting abilities that this book will live rent free in my head for the next few months. Her voice was magic—sultry, serious, playful, and scared when it mattered. I never once wanted to pull away from this masterpiece. Chef’s kiss to her.

If you’re into dark fantasy with games and trials and a few wicked plot twists here and there you will definitely enjoy this one. Kaylie Smith hits the nail on the head every single time and I literally cannot wait to see what is coming next. 100/10 recommend.

Oh, and I would take a bullet for Rowington Silver any day. That is all.

Such a great follow-up to Phantasma!!! This was so fun and felt completely new in this Wicked Games world while still keeping the same vibes that Phantasma had. Set in Italy, we follow Genevieve as she finds herself trapped in a game with Rowin and the rest of the Silver family. The games in this one were so fun and I honetsly enjoyed them more than Phantasma! All the family members that made up the side characters added humor, more world building, and new adventures for this world! I can't wait to see what Kaylie does with the next book in this series!! The narrators did a fantastic job and I think this series will have to be an audio series from here on out for me💜 Loved this!!

4/5 stars.

I liked this a lot, but Phantasma was just so on its own level I can't help it that I compare the two. I had fun time listening to it.

The gothic atmosphere was on point in this one too. I liked that this was set in Italy which as a history fan I can always appreciate.

I liked the pacing more in Phantasma. Enchantra felt more slower in that part, but when the games started and especially at the end I started to love this a lot more. The games felt different from Phantasma but at the same time imo a bit more repetitive.

I liked the push and pull between Rowin and Genevieve. And all the personal games they played together. This was also spicier than I thought but I didn't mind that at all. Also the found family aspect was amazing.

Thank you to the author and the publisher for the ALC.

Much thanks to Kaylie Smith, Bookouture Audio, and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to a free eaudio ARC in exchange for an honest review. Also thanks to Noelle Holten from Second Sky for inviting me to access the title.

DNF 45%. I was into it at first as we were discovering the world and setting up the conflict, but I failed to find Genevieve or Rowin likeable and it was taking longer and longer to get into the plot---talking talking talking threats taunts a million wicked siblings blah blah blah.... Once the marriage thing was settled we were hit with the expected orgy and blind lust, which isn't to my taste. The hunt finally started around 42%, which was way too late, I'd grown impatient and the hunt no longer held much thrill, especially since all we saw was Gen hide. She and Rowin meet up again and all they do is bicker, him domineering and treating her like a stupid child, her spitting with obstinacy and spite, both resenting the hell out of each other. I understand they're supposed to be hate to love, but that doesn't mean they can't act with more maturity and cleverness. I'm just not in the mood to tolerate immature, self-important characters within a lust-soaked plot that's taking its damn time. I gave the book a shot and it's not my thing. Moving on.

4.5 stars.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Genevieve in Phantasma, but I was still interested in seeing what would come next for her.

And just like Phantasma, Enchantra moves quickly. Genevieve is on the hunt to get more information about her late mother and ends up at Enchantra, at just the wrong time. She’s stuck there now, and forced to marry Rowin in order to survive the magical games of the Hunt.

Genevieve makes a lot of impulsive decisions at the beginning, making you want to shake your fists, but Rowin is there to keep her alive. They have a bit of enemies-to-lovers vibe, with both of them constantly bickering at the beginning, and it may be a bit of a trauma bond, but they soon fall for each other.

So basically I’m hooked on this series and I can’t wait for more books about Rowin’s siblings—hellooooooo Sevin!

Lastly, Laura Horowitz is such an amazing narrator. She does such a great job at differentiating between Genevieve and Rowin, I nearly forgot I was listening to the same person the whole time. I hope she’s on board to do the future books in the series!

Phantasma gave us Ophelia Grimm, Enchantra give us Genevieve.

This is book 2 in the wicked games series and it doesn't disappoint.

We follow Genevieve on her journey to find herself, sick of being in Ophelia's shadow. She follows an invitation to Enchantra but finds herself trapped there and having to play the devil's games to get freedom.

Enter your next shadow daddy, Rowin! He's extremely protective but Genevieve is no damsel in distress and can hold her own. That doesn't strop Rowin trying to protect her though.

I received the audio version and loved the narration and that it was the same narrator as Phantasma. There was good distinction between characters and the spice scenes were in no way cringy.

If you like Gothic, paranormal beings, dark romance with a marriage of convenience I'm sure you will love Enchantra.

Okayyyy… imagine getting stuck in a 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑙𝑦 game of hide and seek 💀… at a spooky Tuscan villa… with secret passageways, a literal hedge maze, and an immortal shadow wraith husband you’re fake-married to for survival. Oh, and your life might be airing on 𝑑𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑛𝑖𝑐 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑇𝑉 🫠💍

𝑬𝒏𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂 was SUCH a ride!! 🎢 This sequel gave me 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑯𝒖𝒏𝒕 𝑚𝑒𝑒𝑡𝑠 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝑵𝒐𝒕 but make it gothic, cursed, and 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠𝑙𝑦 swoony. 💘

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐈 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝:

💌 Such good banter and 𝒔𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒘𝒘 burn tension 🥵

🖤 “𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐫 & 𝐝𝐢𝐞” energy?? Yes, please.

👗 Masquerade balls, murderous in-laws, and 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 with 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙 feelings

🪞 The dysfunctional found family vibes?? Chef’s kiss 💋

🎧 Also, the 𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 was absolutely 𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑒. I was ✨𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅✨ the whole time.

This one’s got more romance, higher stakes, and the kind of eerie-glamour setting that makes you wanna wear velvet and ride the 𝑯𝒂𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 multiple times at Disneyland 🤭

Would 𝒅𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚 recommend for fans of dark fantasy, slowburn lovers, or anyone who secretly wishes their enemies-to-lovers trope came with dramatic ballgowns and 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 murder 💃🗡️

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - 4.5

This was such a fast-paced and fun thriller/romantasy! It’s rare for a sequel to surpass the first novel in a series, and the bar was set especially high with Opehlia and Blackwell’s story, but I truthfully think this book was even better!

The audiobook was superb! Laura Horowitz is one of my favorite narrators, and she really brought this story to life.

If you’re a fan of Ready or Not (the movie) and you loved Phantasma, this one’s for you!

Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture Audio, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Kaylie Smith KNOCKED it out of the park again with this one. Last year I applied for Phantasma on a whim. I saw the cover for the audiobook/physical book and hit apply because it was just stunning. I started listening and I finished the book in about 24 hours because it was not a book I could put down. I decided to take a little bit more time on this one and savored it. I loved every minute. I thought I was in love with Blackwell. Now I have him and Rowington! I also adore Genevieve, AKA Vivi!

This book has everything from the first book and so much more. Hot imortal siblings who compete in deadly games of hide and seek. Devils, specters, shadow wraiths, animal familiars, shifters and SO much more. Marriage of convenience, loathing, spice and eventually love. Lost memories, bargains and deals to give it all up.

I cannot say enough good things about Phantasma and Enchantra and I desperately hope to be invited again to listen to or read the next book in the series! I loved also getting to see Ophelia, PO!!! and of course Salem (aka Blackwell) again! Vivi is one badass brat and I adore her. And Umbra? Ugh. Too many good things in one book.

Since this is the audiobook I also give the narrator 5 stars!

GOOD, SOLID FUN. Somehow my hunger games era happened to follow me here with this arc, & I’m really not complaining.

Enchantra was a perfect mix of everything you loved about Phantasma but with some dark found family twists. I think following Genevieve’s story as a youngest sister myself was filled with that Amy March energy that all of us just innately GET. & Rowan was exactly what I was expecting in the best way. & UMBRA? ANGEL? Love that baby so much!!!

Overall, it’s a 3.5 ⭐️ for me, but just like Phantasma we absolutely round up for the fun. & HONESTLY MISS M’AAM KAYLIE REALLY KNOWS HOW TO MAKE AN ENDING A LITTLE EMO CAUSE?!!!?

Thank you so much to NetGalley & Bookoture Audio for this ALC!! The audio was literally fabulous, enjoyed the whole ride!!

I was so excited to get my grabby little hands on book 2. I needed it after book 1. And to get to listen to it was even better. this series has been nothing short of incredible and I have got so many friends to read. Now I just can't wait for them to get to this one so we can finally chat. Kaylie is something special with her words and this world. It is dark and unique and I don't ever want to leave it.

Maybe I need to take a listen to this one again. I really liked Phantasma.....this one, not so much. There was so much character development and so many spicy/love scenes. I kept waiting for the plot to develop and then the book ended. Meh.
