Publicist Hannah needs to get away from a disaster in her work life, so she gets transferred to her company’s New York office and takes up the offer to housesit a celebrity client's sumptuous apartment. Hannah’s first assignment in her new location is to manage the public image of Wade, a grumpy ice hockey star.
Told from the viewpoints of both protagonists, the book weaves an enemies-to-lovers story that depicts a dazzling version of New York, complete with designer labels and glitzy show biz events. Alongside the escapist setting, there is a subplot on a serious, topical issue.
Ideal for fans of slow-burn sports star romances.
With thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an early copy in exchange for an independent review.
On publication, I will post my review on my blog, Amazon and GoodReads.

Thanks to Netgalley for this book. Not my normal genre but this was a light, easy read which was set in New York. An easy read that would be perfect for holidays.

Only in New York is the first book I’ve read from Melissa Hill, and having finished it I definitely intend to check out her back catalogue. This was a beautiful slow burn (closed door) romance, that was a dream to read.
Only in New York centres around LA Publicist Hannah who is looking for a fresh start in New York. She’s helped out by one of her clients who gives her the opportunity to house sit her incredible penthouse apartment whilst Hannah finds her feet. The only snag is Hannah’s grumpy next door neighbour Ed. Along with trying to win Ed over, Hannah has been tasked with transforming the reputation of bad boy hockey player Ward, a job that starts if as tough as Ward is handsome!
I really enjoyed this one and felt that the duel POV worked absolutely perfectly. That said, there were so many times where I was begging these two to see what was in front of them and quite making the wrong assumptions. But you know what, I think all the missed opportunities made the HEA at the end so much better.
I loved that alongside a beautiful slow burn romance we are gifted two characters who are on their own individual growth journeys; with Hannah particularly helping Ward so much, and not just because it’s her job. Equally lovely is the anonymous pen pal relationship that Hannah starts up with her older neighbour. Whilst I guessed the twist with that storyline very early on I really enjoyed all the extra details the letters afforded us.
This really was a gorgeous story and one I’d recommend.

I liked the setting which gave this atmosphere to a captivating book which drew me in with the wonderful characters. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.

This book reads like a conversation with an old friend—familiar, honest, and occasionally surprising. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it doesn’t need to. There’s comfort in its simplicity.

Ready for a new chapter, LA publicist Hannah is determined to leave her broken heart behind. When a celebrity client offers her a luxurious penthouse in New York City, she jumps at the chance for a fresh start in the Big Apple.
But life in New York isn’t as simple as she expected. With a troublesome – yet undeniably attractive – client making headlines for all the wrong reasons, and a mysterious, grumpy neighbour seemingly on a mission to drive her out, Hannah’s patience is quickly tested.
It’s going to take all of Hannah’s PR expertise to win over the cynics around her, but as the barriers between them start to crumble, something unexpected begins to stir in her own heart.
Could love be closer than she thought, and could New York be the place where her heart heals?
Only in New York is a delightful, fast-paced book perfect for fans of witty romance and heartwarming stories of new beginnings.
Get ready to fall in love with New York, and perhaps a little bit with Hannah too. The book is out now and available to purchase.

Absolutely loved this book! It was a wonderful slow burn with a soft voice in the often loud and boisterous world of Sports Romance. I loved the character development and found myself rooting for Ward and Hannah from the get go. I liked that there wasn't any hidden agendas but simply two people navigating the challenges that life threw their way. I was gripped from start to finish!

Hannah had her heart broken, in need of a fresh start she transferred to there New York offices. When her apartment fell through her celebrity client offered her use of her luxury penthouse whilst she was out of the country, with a hope that Hannah could smooth over potential law suit issues with her "grumpy old neighbour".
Keen to prove herself at work she has been assigned their more "challenging" client, a NFL player who has a bad boy grumpy demeaner, he is in need of a good Publicist to clean up his image.
This was such a good book, I loved the NY setting, really immersive and has me craving to return. Frank's Coffee shop and fresh canoli sounded delicious and what a way for Hannah to quite literally knock her new client Ward off his feet.
Hannah proved to be just what Ward needed even if it took him sometime to see just how good she was at her job, I loved how he after a photo shoot at the Animal Shelter, he returned to adopt Pretzel, saving his life!
The chemistry between them was evident, Hannah trying to maintain a professional client relationship considering what happened to her in LA. The banter between them was good, full of mixed messages and wrong assumptions. It had me willing them to open upto each other, I felt the pacing was spot on, the slow burn was so well written.
I loved the letters shared between Ed her neighbour, I don't want to give any spoilers but safe to say their are so many moments when I was kicking my feet with the fleeting opportunities that never seemed to pan out.
I would recommend this book and really look forward to reading more from Melissa.
Thank you NetGalley, Melissa Hill and HQ for the ARC, all opinions expressed are my own.

Really good book that i will recommend to others.
Thanks for the opportunity to read & review it.

Loved this romance between hard working publicist Hannah and difficult Ice Hockey player client Ward. Not only did it have its ups and downs in romance but Hannah also had difficulties in getting to know her mysterious and (apparently) hostile neighbour through letters and notes. I loved all the characters (except the vile Rob) and especially liked Pretzel who was, after all, the perfect matchmaker. Another perfect book from Nelissa Hill.

Hannah, an LA publicist, moves to New York for a fresh start, staying in a luxury penthouse while juggling a demanding new job. With a celebrity client causing chaos and a grumpy neighbor who clearly doesn’t want her there, she’s got plenty to handle.
This was more than just a love story—Hannah’s personal journey added a lot, and as the book went on, her reasons for leaving LA made even more sense. I really liked her as a main character, and Ward was great too. Their client-publicist dynamic was fun to read, and their chemistry was spot on.
The neighbor situation was a cute addition, but I do wish they had worked things out a little faster. Like other readers, I would’ve loved a bit more time with Hannah and Ward as a couple—maybe even a short epilogue to round things off.
I’ve always loved Melissa Hill’s books, and this one’s definitely another keeper!
Thank you to NetGalley for the download.

This is my first book by Melissa and I cannot wait to read more of her books. I loved the sound of the plot, and I love a book that has my name as the main character too. Hannah needs a fresh start, things have gone wrong in her life and she needs to get away for a bit so when a chance encounter leads to her spending her days in New York in a very expensive penthouse Hannah jumps at the chance to live there. But things don't stay great and Hannah is struggling to balance a new job and new neighbours. And a handsome client thrown in there too. There is lots going on but I feel a fast paced read for this book was the right one as Hannah always seems busy and on the go. I love how it is set in New York as I have never been there so I felt as though from Melissa describing the place that I got a sense of what it is like. A really great read to follow along with. I really did feel for Hannah at different points in this book but I saw the potential she had. A warm and funny read that readers will fall in love with.

What a delightful five-star read. This was one of those stories that has its ups and downs, Hannah has had it rough, and you don’t realise just how rough until a fair way through, there are some really sweet moments in this story, and some twists that will get you. Ward is just the biggest grump, but do you know what I am a grump when I’m in pain as well, so I got it. When you get Hannahs real story, you will be astounded at how strong she is, and this is great at so many things, there are so many parts that will just make you love this story.

Loved this book great characters with a nice twist at the end … given the job of PR to bad boy hockey player Ward, Hannah takes on the role of portraying the bad boy in a different light . Putting him forward for different roles to show off his softer side Hannah soon realises there is a lot more to Ward that the public see . Nice underlying story lines that all come together to make this a gem of a read

I really enjoyed this, Hannah and Ward were wonderful together. Hannah is a tenacious publicist who didn't put up with Ward's crap! Ward is a grouchy bear because his knee isn't healing as fast as it is supposed to.
However, it did drag a bit during the middle and the twist (which was very easy to work out early on) should've been revealed much earlier than the 80% mark, just to see how it sat with the characters longer as everything started to coalesce with Hannah's ex. I think it also needed the MeToo storyline woven in better to build tension. It felt like it was thrown in but without seeing just how it affected Hannah more than we think it did at the start.
Thanks to HQ and NetGalley for the ARC.

This is a really cute read with publicist Hannah and publicity shy Ward who needs to clean up his public image. I loved Hannah’s positivity and Ward’s conflict in this which really make this an enjoyable character read. With Hannah and Ward both burnt by their previous relationships and the increasing tension between them there’s some great will they won’t they moments and plenty of confusion and jealousy thrown in by other characters. The story is simple but the chemistry between the characters is fantastic and I love that readers get an extra perspective of the true extent of what’s going on between them beyond what’s obvious to them.
