4/5!
Love, Jo follows Jo as she navigates the highs and lows of fame while struggling with fame and toxic relationships. I loved how real and messy Jo was and sometimes I really wanted to just give her a shake. Not something I would normally pick up but I was pleasantly surprised.
I would definitely check the trigger warnings before reading.
Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for the Arc!

this book couldnt be more apt for right now. first i was thinking it was too much for young adults. it held so much in its pages. lots of that pain. but then i wondered whether actually this is exactly the time those of that age need to read it. must read it. as this doesnt just fall into the music cautionary tale. but of all those "kind" of things going off in the world right now. seemingly some very very seedy underworld lie underneath these business. be it social media. music. or just that "fame" that need to be known. or that need the young have to be accepted, loved and a star of society today. sadly most of it is fake. most of it is controlled and most of the people in it are being hurt and hut and hurt again. some with sadly fatal endings. we are seeing more and more of the realities these industries bring. more needs to be done. but whilst those with the power keep making money...
anyway rant over(mebbie) this book is good. it has all the things you want from a book of this genre. its gritty though. and doesnt hold the punches. and all the way through i was just hoping for some type of happy ending. but then felt bad for even thinking that when our main character had already been through so much! like, wheres the happy. at the end? at the end of all this, well great eh. swell. so yeh, this book was hard. but important. and still a very good read. it had good vibes about it even if some of the content was tough. and its depth and descriptors of place and characters was amazing. i felt all the emotions i think i was meant to and a few more.
