Thankyou @netgalley , @victoryeditingngc, and @noelleadamsauthor for a review copy ☺️

This book was a quick, easy, and thoroughly enjoyable romantic read. The premise is both intriguing and swoon-worthy—imagine being seated next to the same person on multiple flights, only to find yourself falling hopelessly in love along the way.

Isaac and River were fantastic characters—funny, witty, and delightfully sarcastic. Their banter was engaging, though the dialogue felt a bit repetitive at first. I’ll admit, River (the FMC) frustrated me at times, but as the story unfolded, I found her hesitations relatable. The push-and-pull of her emotions made her journey feel authentic, and I appreciated that she took the time to figure out what she truly wanted.

One of the things I loved most about Isaac was how patient and respectful he was. He never pressured River into making a decision before she was ready, instead giving her the space she needed to come to her own conclusions—something that made their romance feel all the more genuine.

Overall, this was a charming, heartfelt read that kept me entertained from start to finish. Perfect for anyone looking for a light, fun romance with just the right amount of emotional depth and spice!

I was expecting to love this especially because I have a strong connection to airport romances. It fell flat for me :/ I wish there was more romance. & more passion. There's not really much to say about it. It was cute, but nothing to write home about for me.

This is a fun novella! Two people with so many quirks, find themselves sitting next to each other on their flights back and forth from Boston to Savannah. River is an artsy free spirit and Isaac is a predictable finance guy, but somehow they just seem to connect.

River gets completely used by her family but doesn’t stand up for herself until Isaac helps her see what’s going on. Isaac is not connecting with his girlfriend from back home, and River saw it before he realized it.

Sense and Sensibility...on a plane...

Sitting in the last row in the window seat, River Kennedy is stuck sitting next to the man who returns her sketchbook, Isaac Becker. They deduce a lot about each other, him using logic and she using intuition. River is a bit OCD, a bit on the spectrum. Isaac has things to prove, they both are casually dating other people. But weekend after weekend, they sit next to each other on the flights from Boston to Savannah and vice versa.

I really enjoyed this read, it flies by, pun intended, as these two start out not liking each other to really liking each other.
Recommend.

✈️🤍 RIVER + ISAAC 🤍✈️

Thank you so much @netgalley and @victoryeditingngc for this wonderful ARC! This is my first read by Noelle Adams and I absolutely enjoyed the humor and relatability in this novella.

River and Isaac immediately triggered the moments between Joe Fox and Kathleen Kelly in You’ve Got Mail. Remember the coffee shop scenes where their banter would go back and forth early in the movie where they were so sure they could read each other? I was always wondering if the next flight they took from Savannah to Boston would be the one where sparks would fly. I highly recommend this sweet and emotional novella.

✈️ Flying from Savannah to Boston every weekend for two months to help my sister with her upcoming wedding would be fine if it weren’t for the obnoxious airplane guy. He has a job in Savannah for a few months and flies home to Boston every weekend, so he’s always on my flights.

Even that might be tolerable if he didn’t always choose the seat right beside me. But he won’t move, and neither will I. So now we’re stuck. Side by side for flight after flight.

After flight.

So what if he’s kind of attractive? And softer than he pretends? His life is in Boston, and mine is not. His career is his priority, and the happy, secure world I’ve worked hard to build for myself in Savannah is mine.

So he’s still the obnoxious airplane guy to me, and no matter how often our paths might cross, that’s all he can ever be.

Noelle Adams always manages to pack a fully formed story into her novellas and In Flight was no different! I think what works the most for me in Adams’ books is that these are regular people and under normal circumstances, they might not have fallen in love and often, neither character is perfect or even particularly likeable. But just because it’s more realistic and down to earth than other romance novels (no quirky jobs or crazy aspirations or wild plot points), doesn’t make it any less swoony. Strangers meeting on a series of flights between Boston and Savannah over the course of several months gives so much close proximity goodness and ample time for tension to build between them.

River and Isaac don’t have a lot in common and they don’t really like each other from the jump. (Though this is more annoyance to love which is fine by me because enemies to lovers isn’t my jam.). It’s a lot of repetitive scenes mid-flight but that’s what works for me in Adams novels. There’s no big plot going on most of the time. Usually just vibes. And the vibes on this one worked for me.

I did wish we got to see more of them off the plane that didn’t involve sex but tbh there was only like two sex scenes that came in pretty late in the story so we really did see most of their time together spent talking without being nakey and I was okay with that here!

In Flight is a charming and heartfelt novella that delivers a well-paced, character-driven romance in a short format. Noelle Adams once again demonstrates her ability to create engaging chemistry and authentic emotional development within a limited word count.

The story follows River and Isaac—two strangers repeatedly seated next to each other on flights—who slowly move from distant politeness to something deeper. Their dynamic is believable and beautifully paced, with each interaction peeling back a little more of their personalities. Isaac, in particular, stands out as a grumpy yet vulnerable love interest, and his emotional arc is handled with subtlety and care.

Despite being a novella, the relationship development feels organic. The banter is strong, the emotional beats are impactful, and the intimacy is well-balanced without feeling rushed. This is a quick, satisfying read perfect for fans of contemporary romance, especially those who enjoy forced proximity, slow-burn connections, and a touch of vulnerability in their characters.

Thank you to NetGalley, Noelle Adams, and Victory Editing for the opportunity to review this early copy.

Very sweet little novella with strong characters. They spend almost the entire book talking and communicating with each other and Adams really thrives best with their banter and growing attraction.

I haven’t read an Adams book in a long time and I’ve missed it. Her writing is refreshing and charming with likable characters. I couldn’t imagine taking the same flights every weekend and sitting with the same guy. Their connection as strangers was a little stiff but soon blossomed into a sweet friendship. Being vulnerable about family and relationships made them closer. It’s a short enough novella I read in two days but could’ve been longer only because I enjoyed Isaac and River so much. My copy came through NetGalley and have written my review voluntarily.

River settles into her favourite seat on a flight from Boston back to her family home Savannah, sketching designs for her sister’s upcoming wedding. What she didn’t expect is her seat mate Isaac to be grumpy yet compelling at the same time, to also discover they will be seated next to each other for the next 2 months as he travels for work.
Neither will change seat although it soon becomes clear that neither one would want to, even if they can’t admit it yet.
They try ignoring each other but flight after flight brings them closer, soon starting to open up to each other. River has to convince herself that Isaac is just the airplane guy….or is he.
I love Noelle’s writing style and this I loved this short novella. It felt believable how they went from annoyance to laughter, meeting someone who frustrates yet intrigues you at the same time.
I fell in love with Isaac when he opened up to River “You still think you always have to fade into the background so other people can take the applause. You still believe that you’ll never be center stage. That you’re not worth going to the ends of the world for. That who you are-your radiant, beautiful spirit-doesn’t cast sunshine on everyone you meet. That it hasn’t transformed everything for me.”
A 5 star read for me, It has me hooked, I loved the short fast faced storyline and a good amount of 🌶️.

For two months, River has been flying from Savannah to Boston every weekend to help with her sister's wedding, and each time, she’s seated next to Isaac, the grumpy guy who’s on a weekly commute home. Neither of them is willing to switch seats, and the silence between them is always thick with tension. At first, the flights are nothing but glares and forced politeness, each one feeling like a chore. But as the weekends pass, things start to change. River notices small shift. The silence begins to break, and soon enough, their conversations drift to more personal topics. Isaac talks about his work, and River shares a bit more about her sister’s wedding chaos. Slowly, they begin to open up about their lives outside of these awkward flights. Before long, they find themselves chatting about everything from their personal relationships to their future goals, things they wouldn’t have imagined discussing just weeks ago. The tension that once made every flight unbearable starts to fade, replaced by a quiet, comfortable camaraderie. What was once just a seatmate on a weekly commute becomes someone she actually looks forward to seeing each weekend. It’s still a little awkward at times, but the more they talk, the more River realizes maybe this forced proximity isn’t as terrible as she once thought.

Noelle Adams has always been one of my go-to authors when I need a good palate cleanser between heavier reads, so I was excited to dive into this one. In Flight is a quick, light novella, which makes it perfect for readers looking for something fast-paced. I enjoyed the premise... a meet-cute on a plane is such a fun setup, and the story had moments that were charming and full of potential.

Anyhow, I wasn't a huge fan of the emotional dynamic between the characters, especially since both were still involved with other people while slowly developing feelings for each other. While I understand the complexity the author was aiming for, this particular trope made it difficult for me to fully root for their connection. That being said, this is primarily a matter of personal preference. I've always known that the author, has a unique way of writing raw, flawed characters, and I can see how readers who enjoy messy, emotionally driven stories will appreciate this one more than I did.

Thanks to NetGalley and Noelle Adams for providing a DRC of this for review.

Short and sweet-- pretty much a perfect novella! Loved the characters and how they found themselves falling for each other with each flight. Would definitely recommend to a friend or patron!

4.5/5.

Noelle Adams is an auto-buy author for me so this new release was a no-brainer. It has her signature style: humor, low stakes angst, and excellent build up. I liked that both MCs were in relationships when they met, with each of them just staying in it because it was easier to stay then leave, just to have the other talk them out of said relationship. It felt more real than just two single people with instant chemistry. The intimacy didn't feel forced, and I could definitely relate to the FMC talking herself out of the relationship before she was even in it.

Overall a very solid addition to the author's already stacked lineup.

Thank you so much to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the early chance to read and review “In Flight.”

I have been a big fan of Noelle Adams’ work for a while and “In Flight” did not disappoint. I really like the concept of two strangers meeting and gradually falling in love over a series of flights. Even though it was a novella, the author managed to include lots of character interactions so the development of the relationship between River and Isaac felt authentic. I recommend this quick, fun read to readers of contemporary romance and fans of Noelle Adams. 4 stars.

A gorgeous in flight romance! Can Savannah find a romance with a grump passenger that’s always on her flights…read this beautiful book to find out! The oerfevt enemies to lovers romance and slow burn set over the gorgeous skies. This novel had me kicking my feet the whole way through.

I’ve heard good things about this author, so I was very excited about this arc, especially since the premise caught my interest. Oh well.

We all know that enemies-to-lovers and grumpy-sunshine are some of the best tropes. When done well.
Unfortunately, a forced conflict, paired with a rude and condescending hero (not the same as grumpy, btw), is not that.

I disliked Isaac from the beginning, and he only got worse as the story progressed. River was a little better, but she lost me when she started falling for him and his attitude.

I didn’t understand why they hated each other, and I didn’t understand why they stopped. There was very little chemistry, and it was not backed up by anything; they had nothing in common and didn’t even really know each other when they decided they wanted each other forever.

The only good thing about this book was that it was short.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thanks Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the arc.

This was just about the perfect book for me. I thought River and Isaac's meet cute was adorable and each time they met on the plane. From learning more about one another, the giddiness in anticipating seeing each other every weekend just flowed through me too. In the beginning Isaac and River think they have little in common, but as time goes on, they realilze they are more alike than they thought. They just want to be seen, really seen, and loved for who they are. River is forever trying to please her family and Isaac thinks his job and a high society life is what is meant for him. Forever trying to fit into boxes they aren't meant to be in, but learning that they can have someone who loves them unconditionally and the pieces just fit into place and feel right.
The only thing I wasn't in love with was a few weeks where it skipped over what was happening and I just felt like I needed a little more detail on how they were growing their budding relationship. I fell in love with these two though and got some serious butterflies. 4.5 stars.
Thank you to Victory, Netgalley and Noelle Adams for an early copy.
