Aisha disocvers her bestie and her boyfriend are having an affair and she embarks on a year long self discovery..

Her life in all aspects is a mess and Aishas journey is quite unique,

This is a story that hits home if you are going thorugh difficulties and I admired her for her determination. It made me think of my own demons and how I intend to remedy them

A good read and unique tale.

Aisha was betrayed by her bestfriend!! Who needs enemies when you have a bestfriend like this?! Aisha’s healing journey was slow but it came together in the end which made me happy! I had to extend grace to her a few times. Thanks to the author for the ARC!!

Thank you for the opportunity to read this early.

The author is new to me, I was intrigued by the synopsis and the cover. I have so many conflicting feelings about this book/story. I loved how there was no time wasted within the story line. We immediately get the deceit from Aisha’s best friend Same and boyfriend James. The healing journey was a long one and the process had me captivated. My feelings for the main character Aisha went up and down the entire story. I went from feeling sorry for her, to disliking her and that nasty entitled attitude, to feeling sorry for her all over again. I’m still undecided if I like her. The flash back memories gave us depth of her relationship with James and Sam and I’m disgusted with them both. Her relationship with her brother was complicated and I didn’t like how she clearly wanted her brother to be growing in misery with her. Again she just wasn’t all that like-able. As much as I enjoyed the story, her journey of healing the ending was a big let down. The conversation when she decided to confront them…that’s it? After all of that? It wasn’t worth the build up. The ending just felt rushed and abrupt after 40 plus chapters of build up. The ending affected how I received the story honestly. I stayed up way too late and just felt so let down in the end. I would however read more of the authors work because the story was written well, the ending just wasn’t what I wished for however that is definitely more of a personal preference thing.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

Maaaaaan. I really wanted to LOVE this book because the premise sounded soooo exciting! I mean Aisha literally finds her bestie and boyfriend making babies... messy right?? Right.

She is also dealing with a strained relationship with her mom, her father has passed, and while her and her brother are besties, they also are going through some things.

I love that she fled to Dallas and needed the time and space to grow and heal, but I feel like she was self sabotaging the entire time and ahhhhhh it made me want to scream haha.... but I know healing isn't linear so I did feel for her.

Overall this was okay!
