I liked it. A slow burn with enough intrigue to things moving. I didn’t see the twist coming!
I appreciated how well this was written -descriptive passages and effectively used ‘turns of phrases’. I look forward to reading other titles by Willow Rose.
-The narration of the audiobook is done by Lauryn Allman and Barbara Barnes. Their narration compliments the writing. It’s well done- clear, well paced and very easy to listen to.
Thank You to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook version of this ARC.

Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture Audio and Willow Rose for the Audio Arc of My Husband's Mistress.
Narrated by Lauryn Allman, Barbara Barnes.
My Husband's Mistress is a standalone psychological thriller with a great plot line and a refreshing twists and turns. It's a duel POV, Darcy a hard working detective who feels lost and dejected. Having caught her husband cheating and is trying to build her marriage back. up she is called to investigate a local murder case. She comes face to face with her husbands mistress, Charlotte. Up steps the other POV, Charlotte as she navigates being the main suspect in her own Husbands murder.
Having the duel POV makes for a very tense, twisty thriller and just unravels at a great pace which keeps you engaged. The fiinale I didn't quite expect which is why it was so refreshing. Our female MC were built and developed really well. I felt quite a range of emotions for both Darcy and Charlotte and even though their actions are maybe morally borderline, I liked them both for that reasoning.
My Husband's Mistress was narrated by Lauryn Allman, Barbara Barnes. Both ladies made our female leads even more 3D and had wonderful voices.

This book was so intriguing and messed up in a good way. it played with my brain while I was reading it because the cop working this Murder case is the wife of the dead man and she is interviewing his mistress. However she believes the mistress doesn't know who she is as she goes by her maiden name. There's a lot of cat and mouse here as they both try to catch the other in lies and frame the murder on each other. So many great scenes and boy oh boy does some crazy evidence come to light. At times all the bouncing around did get a bit confusing but you are quickly brought back to where you need to be in this mystery with a shocking conclusion.
The Narrator was perfect and brought the book to life.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of the audiobook.

This wasn’t a bad audiobook, but it would have been half the size if it wasn’t so descriptive. It seemed to be a bit too much, where substance and storyline could have been expanded to offer more.
The ending wasn’t a twist at all, it was pretty easy to see coming based off of how this trope has been done before.
The narrator’s were great and I listened at 2x and it was still easy to follow.
All in all, 2.5 stars rounded up.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ALC.
2 stars instead of 1 because, although I DNF, I cared enough to listen to the ending to see if my guess about who the killer is was right.
I was very much looking forward to this novel, however I tried starting the audiobook 4 or 5 times before I gave up (I normally listen to audiobooks in 1 shot, maybe 2 days). It dragged, was too descriptive and I wasn’t a fan of the narrators. Perhaps if I read it instead of listened, I might have finished it. Also, I might’ve been able to tolerate the book better and finished if I liked the Darcey’s narrator’s voice.
The story’s plotline was very intriguing; I cared enough about it to listen to the ending to see if my guess was right. It was, so at 20% in, it was predictable. Let’s just say I think the book would have been better and less predictable from only one POV.

Having grown attached to Billie Wilde, this had me gripped from the first word. I was hooked trying to work out who did it and what was going on between the characters, nothing was at seemed, it was so entertaining and had the right balance. I was blown away by all the twists and turns and the final reveal was omg what did i listen to. The actual crime and the way everything was dripped revealed , there were so many red herrings and at times it felt like there was more than one villian. I was blown away by this it successfully resolved all the loose ends and while it could seem ott it felt it could really have happened. The only real issue was the crime seemed to be solved too quickly. This is 5 star listen , thank you so much netgallery, publisher, author and narrator. .

This one had my mind spinning by the end! Charlotte’s husband has been murdered and Darcey is on the case to figure out who killed Edward. Charlotte tells her it is Bradley who did it…Darcey’s husband!!
This one I did not want to stop reading because of all the twists that I did not see coming. We are thought to believe a couple different scenarios but in the end we get a huge shock!

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this before publication date!!
What does a woman do when she's being cheated on, hmm some kind of revenge perhaps. When the mistress has her own spouse murdered perfect set up or not.
Crazy twist didn't see coming great read!

This suspenseful story definitely unfolded in a slow burn, but it was important for the plot to unfold that way, so I wasn't mad about it. The dual narrator storyline enhanced it overall, in my opinion. There were definitely two different stories and it was important to know the perspectives of both the jilted lover and the adulteress. Oh, but their characters have so much more in store for the reader than those two roles.
I didn't particularly care for any of them (as was likely the point) so it was hard to root for them or long for a certain ending. However, I do think Willow Rose (what a great author name) concluded the story with some important lessons as well as an unexpected twist, for sure. You won't be disappointed there.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARL. All opinions are mine.

First time reading a book written by Willow Rose, I really enjoyed it, was easy to follow along and not as twisted as some books I've read and listened too, everything was in present time and not back and forth by decades. I will read more by Willow Rose.

3.5
Detective Darcy White has just been called out to the scene of a homicide. When she arrives on site, she makes her way through the home seeing the body of a man and then meets his wife, who was found with blood on her hands. But this crime isn't as simple as it might seem. Darcy knows the wife and has a personal connection to her. The wife, Charlotte, is the woman her husband, Bradley, was having an affair with. Charlotte knew Bradley was married but she doesn't know that Darcy is his wife. As Darcy starts an interview with Charlotte about what happened, Charlotte makes a statement that only further tangles the web: She didn't kill her husband, but she knows who did. Bradley.
This domestic thriller drama was a quick and enjoyable read. I had a pretty good guess of the outcome pretty early on and the twists weren't too crazy, but it was still a fun, easy binge listen. Story is told in dual POV by Darcy and Charlotte and the narrator did a good job voicing the two characters in distinct ways. Overall, a solid popcorn domestic thriller.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the audiobook for review.

My Husband’s Mistress is a fast paced edge of your seat thriller! There is so much anticipation and suspense. I definitely recommend this for anyone who is looking for a quick paced read full of twists.
I really enjoyed the story, pacing and narrator. I wanted to finish in one sitting but I had family come to visit to I had to put it down but couldn’t stop thinking about it as I was already halfway through! I just had to know what happened. I picked it back up the minute my family left 😹
Thank you for the ARC

I'm so glad I got this advanced copy as an audio book-- it was wonderfully done and I found myself making excuses to listen more! You spend time in the head of both the wife and the mistress, and while I started out thinking I knew who to root for, the story twists. I'd recommend to fans of Frieda McFadden-- it's got that domestic horror vibe at points. Five stars in my book! Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book.

I was sucked into this one very quickly. I definitely didn’t trust Charlotte, especially finding out that she was Darcy’s husband’s mistress. I felt bad for Darcy being the detective on the case. I didn’t expect the final twist. The last 40 pages wrapped everything up in such a nice bow.
I enjoyed the dual POV. Getting to see both Darcy and Charlotte’s POVs really made the story. Lauryn and Barbara did a great job portraying each character.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my copies of this book.

4 stars - Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an ALC of 'My Husband's Mistress'. The premise of this book immediately caught my attention. The story revolves around four key characters: Darcy, a detective married to Bradley, a high-powered attorney who is having an affair with Charlotte. When Charlotte’s husband, Edward, is found dead, the question arises—who killed him? Both Charlotte and Bradley have compelling motives, keeping the suspense high throughout!
I especially enjoyed the alternating POVs between Darcy and Charlotte, which kept me guessing and second-guessing the identity of the killer. The audiobook was a fast-paced and engaging listen, with excellent narration that enhanced the experience. The story had a satisfying twist, and I appreciated the closure at the end. I did want a little more character development of Edward - we got a brief insight into who he was, but I wanted a little more. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed this!! It kept me on the edge of my seat and I was always wanting to know what happened next. I thought I had it figured out and I was so incredibly wrong.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookoutoure Audio for the gifted ALC.
