**5 STARS** If you like figuring things out, you'll like this book! It tells the story from two sides: Darcey, who solves crimes, and the other woman. Darcey finds out the other woman's husband is dead. Now, Darcey has to secretly look into it. Did her husband do it? Or did the other woman?

I've been a Willow Rose Fan for years. I've devoured every book in the last few series and I know that there are always twists and unexpected endings. This book was likewise filled with turns in the plot. I had worked out a couple of scenarios for how it would end and I was somewhat right.
None of Willow Rose's characters are ever perfect. In this book they are more imperfect than most. The characters aren't very likeable, but it's up to the reader to determine what motivates each one.
This book seems to be written in a different style from most of the other books I've read by this author. It has more details, such as describing how a leather chair squeaks, how clothing fits or how hair is styled. In other books I might have ignored it, but in this book, maybe because I was expecting something different, it bothered me.
I listened to the audio version and both narrators were wonderful. I also have the e-book.

This was my first time reading a book from Willow Rose and it certainly won’t be the last.
I like thrillers that are swift, keep my attention, have different twists and don’t get overly complicated and this met all of my criteria.
I had started this before bed thinking I’ll listen for 30-40 minutes so I can settle down before bed. 2.5 hours later I was still holding on until sleep won out to no fault of the book!
I consumed the audiobook and the dual POV Narration was great. I think it made me like the book more than I would have had I read the print copy because it is overly wordy. The good quality narration also allowed me not to get hung up on the fact that the plot was highly implausible .
Lauryn Allman and Barbara Barnes were able to take me into the world the author was painting . They each handled the different voices with ease and made it more palatable since the characters weren’t too likable.
I am thankful to have gotten a complimentary audio ALC from Bookouture Audio through NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.

My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars
⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again

What a book! Full of twists from start to finish. I just knew that when my jaw dropped with the very first twist that this one was going to be good. Kept me guessing till the end. A quick and easy read that I truly enjoyed!

I thought this was really interesting. I wasn't sure which way it was going to go and I had to listen to some of it twice to make sure I had the facts correct.
Overall, I thought it was kind of slow, but still enjoyable. I thought both narrators did a great job!
As far as thrillers go, this one was very suspenseful. I'm still a little confused by the ending.

Wow I could not put it down. I had to know!!! This is dual POV for Charlotte and Darcy and they were so contradicting you don't know who to believe or trust. Netgalley provided the Audio for my honest review. I don't read a lot of mystery/thriller. But this is the first time reading a book where the narrator cannot be trusted, and it was fun. It was an easy, fast read that leaves you going OOOOHH to that ending. The narrators were easy to follow and listen to.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC opportunity!
Wow wow wow. This was SO good. From start to finish, this was a ride and had my attention. Charlotte was a tough one to crack for a bit, but on e pieces started to fall together and Darcy went to her, it was so satisfying. The ending was giving Goodbye Earl or Two Black Cadillacs in a way.
This was so well written. I will have to read more from this author.

Thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture Audio, and author Willow Rose for providing this ARC.
This book is a solid, fast-paced thriller that kept me engaged the whole time. The story follows Darcy, a detective tasked to investigate a murder. The problem is that Charlotte—the victim’s wife—was having an affair with Darcy’s own husband and is now accusing him of the murder. Everyone is hiding something, and both Darcy and Charlotte have a lot to lose if things don't go as planned.
The plot is efficient and entertaining. I had many theories, but didn’t guess everything. The ending was satisfying, though a bit abrupt. Overall, it was an enjoyable read.

My Husband’s Mistress by Willow Rose was a wild ride. The story follows Darcy, a detective who gets caught up in a case that hits way too close to home. Her roles as a mother, wife, and detective constantly clash, making things messy in the very best way. And just when I thought I had it figured out… THAT TWIST. I did not see that coming.
The writing? Super descriptive in a way that made the emotions hit hard. Some phrases were so well done I had to stop and take them in. But the pacing was a little…off. Some parts dragged, and certain things didn’t make much sense, like why there was little to no oversight when it comes to the investigation. Also, I’m usually not into detective POVs, but I actually liked Darcy! Much more than the mistress.
Now, this ARC was the audiobook version. I wasn’t a fan of Charlotte’s voice. It just didn’t match what I pictured, and it completely pulled me out of the story. This is where I kept losing focus. Had to rewind a few times because I zoned out.
That being said, the ending made up for a lot! The last stretch had me locked in, and the twist was chef’s kiss. I’d recommend this one if you like slow-burn thrillers with a big payoff. Just a heads-up—there are some heavy themes briefly discussed and no TW so beware.
I’d definitely read another from Willow Rose and look forward to doing so!

My Husband’s Mistress by Willow Rose is a very entertaining suspense/thriller. I was locked in from the beginning when we meet the police detective, her not-so-loving husband, his mistress, as well as the mistress’s husband who is killed right off the bat. I especially connected to the two female characters and I enjoyed the point-of-view from both female characters.
I thought I had the plot figured out and the twist came at the very end and boy did I have it wrong! I didn’t see the twist coming and would have never guessed it on my own. Honestly, I found it slightly unrealistic and hard to believe if this was a true crime story, but I still appreciated the twist for what it was.
I enjoyed the audiobook from beginning to end and would recommend it with no hesitation. I also thought the narration was good.
Thank you to the publisher for the advanced listening audiobook copy.

My Husband’s Mistress by Willow Rose will be published March 28, 2025.
This was my first book to read by Willow Rose and wow, I’m a fan! As someone who enjoys fast paced thrillers/mysteries, this book fell right into that category.
We have Darcy who is a detective that is working a case that her husband’s mistress is involved in.
This mistress and husband of course are unaware of Darcy’s involvement which keeps the story suspenseful and engaging.
While I thought there were some moments of predictability, I still had a great time listening to the audio.
The audio narration was done very well!
Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for this ARC.

The beginning of this book was slow, and I almost DNF’d—but I’m so glad I didn’t! Once the pace picked up, I was completely invested in the story. The twists were well done, keeping me on my toes, and I loved the tension between the characters. The unreliable narration and secrets unfolding made for a fun, gripping read. If you enjoy domestic thrillers with plenty of suspense, this one is worth sticking with!
Thank you, NetGalley & Bookouture Audio, for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

The story opens with a hard-working detective (Darcy) at a murder scene of a man she seemingly doesn’t know. Shortly Darcy realizes that the man’s widow (and possible murderer) is her very own husband’s mistress! That’s not a spoiler alert…it is the name of the book!
Darcy tries not to let her personal life (three kids, husband who cheats, her potential drinking problem), but little by little, her personal life becomes intertwined with her professional life.
This story is told from a dual point of view (Darcy and Charlotte, the mistress). The actress who voices Darcy is Lauryn Allman, who does the Housemaid series by Freida McFadden, and she is excellent!
Throughout the novel Darcy and Charlotte vacillate between friends and frenemies. Sometimes the actions Darcy took as a police detective strained the bounds of credulity, but that’s a thriller for you. If I wanted a criminal procedural, I’d watch Law and Order.
While I didn’t really like either of the female main characters, I did want to know what happened and couldn’t put it down. If you're a fan of Freida McFadden or Kiersten Modglin, you will enjoy this novel.
This was my first Willow Rose novel, and I am hooked! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this arc!

3.5 stars rounded up. This kept my attention all of the way through and I enjoyed the dual POV. I didn’t find any of the characters particularly likable, but the train wreck was one in which I could not look away. 🤣 I enjoyed the audiobook, and felt the narration was great. I found a lot of the plot to be predictable and implausible, but I still thought this was an entertaining story. The ending felt like it could have been edited to be shorter; it seemed to go on and on, but it resolved cleanly and well. This was a solid mystery.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this audiobook ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of My Husband's Mistress
by Willow Rose (audio version
We start with Detective Darcy White investigating a murder, once she speaks with he victims wife Charlotte, she realizes that not only her prime suspect but hr husbands mistress,. Darcy blurs the lines before professional and personal while investigating the murder.
I couldn't put this down, I devoured it in a day

My Husband's Mistress by Willow Rose
Narrated by Lauryn Allman, Barbara Barnes
When we meet Detective Darcy White her life is already a mess. She's been through heck with her husband already but right now he's going overboard helping at home and with the kids. Still, Darcy doesn't trust him, she's still mad at him, and now a new crime is stirring things up in ways she doesn't like.
That's because Darcy has been called to the scene of a murder and the dead man's wife, Charlotte, is in handcuffs. Charlotte, the mistress of Darcy's husband, is covered in blood and not talking, the murder weapon is missing. Could Darcy's husband be involved in this murder? It's ever so important that Darcy control the situation or she could lose everything. But by controlling the situation she could lose her job. Now she's in a bigger mess than ever!
There are two narrators for this audiobook and that is a good choice as these two women come head to head with each other. What does each of them really know? Darcy has some important choices she needs to make and most of her choices could get her in hot water. How does she keep her kids and job while deciding what she wants to do about her husband? Does she want him anymore or is there a better choice when it comes to a husband she doesn't even like any longer.
The story moves fast, the characters make some wild and wacky decisions, but we don't know the half of it when it comes to judging them. I had a fun time trying to figure out what was going on and who might be at fault. Are the two women working together or against each other and which one will be standing at the end.
Thanks to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for this ARC.

A murder, an affair and a police officer wife? I’m in!
I think my first problem was that I follow true crime a little too closely and I just couldn’t get behind how the investigation was being ran, I know you have to let some things go when reading fiction but I just couldn’t stop thinking ‘they wouldn’t do that or ‘they wouldn’t allow that’ or ‘that doesn’t make sense’ long enough to let the plot snatch me in.
I didn’t particularly like the ending and thought it could have done with a massive trigger warning for rape.

I really didn't see that twist coming! It totally surprised me since I thought the story was headed in a completely different direction. Thanks to NetGalley, the author, and Bookouture Audio for this ARC.

Thoughts: This story is narrated from the dual perspectives of Darcy and Charlotte, Bradley’s mistress. From start to finish, I was thoroughly captivated and eager for more. The plot kept me guessing, as I continuously found myself questioning the characters' motivations and speculating on potential outcomes. The unexpected twists and betrayals were both shocking and intriguing. The final twist, in particular, took me completely by surprise and was a thrilling conclusion to an engaging story.

GREAT BOOK! It started off so strong and hooked me right from the get go. After a little while it seemed as if the story had dropped off a bit but right when I was about to count it a loss, Willow Rose did what she always does and brought it right back. The voices for each character were EXACTLY what I was expecting. The way Willow Rose describes Charlotte, I had a picture of Jennifer Tilly in my mind and when I heard the narrator, I lost it. Great casting. Great story.
