Thank you very much, Netgalley and the publisher, for this ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

This book brought back the nostalgia of Percy Jackson in the sense that Perus was given a quest to complete with his friends, and he goes on this epic journey. At the start of the book, I was intrigued by this race, but once the race started and we started to diverge from the race, I became a bit lost with the amount of things thrown at me. Sadly, the confusion held me back from immersing myself in the story. However, the saving grace was that the world was unique and intriguing, and the writing was terrific.

While Perus and the Nine Moons was not for me, I recommend this to others because I don't believe anything was inherently wrong with the book.

This was a rather interesting read - certainly my first be the author, and the first that really felt like this? The worldbuilding was rather hard to follow - the meaning of topside and all of the elements and where he was going - I just didn't understand. The characters also were initially described really well - I understood was Perus was needing and then the race starts and there was truly just too much. I DNF'd at 48% as I just couldn't figure it out anymore.

I would say that the writing in general was beautiful - very descriptive! The dialogue is also incredibly well written and I absolutely loved the dry sense of humor that the characters had.
