What a wonderful story. I was hooked from the start. A definite must read. The perfect book for holiday reading.

Loved this so much. A really easy quick read.
Jo Jenkins has divorced and has recently been left a cottage by the sea in the will of her ex husbands aunt. Deciding to move in she soon realises that it needs more work than she thought. Determined to throw herself into everything that comes her way she meets new friends, new relationships and new beginnings. The story follows Jo as she navigates her new surroundings, her new friendships and her ex!
This was a lovely read and had a bit of everything in it. It would make a perfect holiday read.

I love this author and can always be guaranteed reading a book full of love, life, warmth and humour when I pick up one of her books! This book takes us to down to a picturesque Cornish village called Sandpiper Shore. The main character, Jo Jenkins, has just gone through a divorce after her husband leaves her for her best friend. Her two adult daughters have their own busy lives, and Jo feels a bit lonely and redundant from what her life used to be like. One day, out of the blue, she gets a telephone call from a solicitor for her ex-husband's late Aunty June. In her Will, June has left Jo her seaside cottage where Jo, her husband and her daughters used to holiday many years before. Could this be a sign for Jo to start a new life just for herself?
OMG, this book was fabulous! I've read all the books this author has written, and I know I say it every time, but this book was definitely my favourite! It just seems every new book gets better and better! Jo Jenkins is a lovely character and one which you can definitely connect with. I love how she is a middle aged woman and you can really understand the whole "mid-life" women's problems that Jo finds herself going through. You do have to feel sorry for Jo though, her confidence and self esteem have really taken a battering with the divorce, and from what I read her family (apart from her mum!) treat her so badly so it's no wonder she feels like she does! I certainly don't blame her for moving to Sandpiper Shore, and even though the house needs a lot more work on it than she thought, the view that was described when she looks out of her windows certainly makes up for everything! Something else that makes up for everything is her neighbour Seamus Shaffernakker!! He is certainly just as attractive as the view, and I loved the flirting and banter between him and Jo!
The storyline flows so well! I was reading a couple of books together, but I have to admit that by the time I was about 3 chapters in I knew I'd have to put the other book down and concentrate purely on this book!! I was completely hooked into Jo's story and didn't want to miss a single thing! The other characters in the story are so likeable (apart from Jo's ex-husband who is a bit of a tosser!) and it was lovely for Jo to find new friends who were so supportive of her. Whilst it is a romantic read, there is also a twist in the tale and a little bit of mystery surrounding Aunty June and a mysterious suitcase of hers. I loved this part of the storyline and thought it was all cleverly written, tying all the ends in together!
This was a wonderful read full of heart-warming moments and lots of love, life and laughter! The location was to die for and I'd definitely wouldn't have to be asked twice if I was offered a house down on the Cornish Coast! As I read, I could just picture myself alongside Jo (or preferably Seamus!) sitting on the decking, glass of wine looking at the perfect sea view! Focussing on friendships, courage and new starts this book gives you everything you could possibly need! Completely adorable! Would definitely recommend!

Kim Nash is a wonderful story teller. This is a heartwarming book that will leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling and a smile!
This book centre's round Jo, who has inherited an amazing property by thew sea, and it couldn't have came at a better time in her life.
I loved Jo's story, all the characters in the book and the setting, you will not be sable to put this book down.

She receives a phone call and her ex husbands aunt has left her the wonderful cottage that she always loved in her will. Jo up sticks and moves to her dream home.

Along the way in her journey she meet’s Michelle and Emma and they quickly become very good friends. Along with the gorgeous handyman Seamus she’s making the house her home. But she finds a suitcase of old letters and photographs and finds out a lifelong secret.
Brilliantly written and really enjoyed this book.

This is my first book by Kim Nash and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.
Jo has been having a hard time in life after her husband leaves her for her best friend and her life implodes.
A suprise phone call to say she has inherited her ex husband’s aunts beautiful home in Cornwall comes at the perfect time. What follows is a fantastic journey of true friendship, family and love.
The setting was just perfect and I was very jealous of Jo who was a very likeable character who I just wanted to be happy. She made some lovely true friends and Seamus was a brilliant character.
A five star read with a beautiful and unexpected ending.
Thank to Kim Nash, NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

What a lovely, lovely story. It made me laugh, cry and keep turning the pages. Gorgeous settings, characters that leap from the page and written with Kim's trademark warmth and humour. I love all of Kim's books, but I think this is the best yet. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

A new book by Kim Nash is always cause for celebration coz as a reader I know its going to be fun, uplifting full of great characters and also have an element of surprise in it
And I wasn’t wrong with this first in a new series set in the idyllic Cornish village of Sandpiper Shore
Jo Jenkins is about to receive the surprise of her life via a will from her ex hubby’s Aunty aunty who in recent years became a recluse, there is a big history between them from when she was with Michael who she cant decide if she pines for or detests even more…….she needs a change in her life and although her 2 have to say spoilt unlikeable daughters think she is mad she decides to go for the opportunity she has been given
And then the fun and games start……as she makes a new beginning and life with new friends,a new love interest and a wonderful sounding Friday club ( I will let you find that out….) and of course all does not go to plan but she battles everything that is thrown her way
Squidgy and yummy and totally comforting I enjoyed everything about this book that shows it’s never too late to go for your dreams and put YOU first, fab get away from it all read

The Marvel that is Kim Nash has done it again and given us a brilliant escapism read with a story full of great characters and a wonderful setting. I am already looking forward to the next in the series to find out how life is going to treat ‘Jo Jenkins’. This is a must read to escape to the Cornish coast and get fully immersed in village life.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for an honest review. It was an absolute pleasure.

I read this just before my cruise/coastal trip, which was a perfect kickoff with this set near the sea (in England, but still ...). The FMC inherits a cottage in Cornwall from a relative of her ex’s. The story flows, the main characters (and new friends she makes) are very likeable. This is my first Kim Nash novel - I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more of her stories if only for the virtual getaway to places like the Cornish coast!
Thanks Net Galley for the opportunity to read/review this book!

I received a free copy of, The Cornish Cottage by the Sea, by Kim Nash, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Jo Jenkins is ready to put herself first, inheriting a cottage in Cornwall, also helps. This was a nice read.

A very moving tribute at the beginning of the book to the authors friend . Then you get a wonderful story of friendship and love and a beautiful house that you want to live in. A great twist and horrid x husband and two demanding daughters and a cute dog. . Loved it . Could not put it down.Read it

Another gorgeous cornish story from Kim. I fall into these books with ease knowing that I will be swept along in the cornish cove life.
Everything sounds idyllic and I'm a sucker for stories where the main character rebuilds her life.
It is a beautiful read that I flew through in a day, I just couldn't put it down.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was an absolutely fabulous book.
Jo is stuck in. Rut, her husband left her for her best friend and she is lost, can her ex husbands Aunt leaving her the seaside cottage she loved in her will be the new start she was looking for.
When she gets to the cottage it's not quite how she remembered but she is determined to make it work.
The people she meets become her new family and her neighbour Seumas may be gorgeous but she can only see him as a friend.
As her confidence grows she starts to realise what she wants out of life, but when she find a mysterious trunk will it tear her new found life apart.
I loved this book but missed a lot of derail about the LHC, but I suppose then the book would be twice as long, but I also wanted to see her ex husband and daughters getting some self awareness, it was hinted ar but it would have just made the story perfect.
Great characters and a great story

What a wonderful story! I loved this refreshing read. How lucky Jo is!
I love this quote between her and her Mum about the cottage.
‘Well, you never know. Maybe the very clever universe has a plan for you that you’re not aware of. Life can be full of surprises when you’re not expecting them.
And those surprises can sometimes be best!! Those are the ones to cherish.
I'm so glad that I picked up this book.
Jo reminds me of myself right now. Though I'm not divorced I still feel at a stand still feeling not needed. Especially when everyone's at work during the day.
Here's another quote that I liked.
‘Don’t dwell on what happened in the past. It serves no purpose. Look forward to what’s in front of you now. All too often we tend to look back. Even I'm guilty of that.
5 stars for a relaxing read and I highly recommend.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

I'm not usually a romance reader, but I come back to Kim Nash's books every time because they always make me feel so uplifted and warm inside. The Cornish Cottage By The Sea is no different and might even be my favourite novel by Kim Nash so far!
The protagonist of The Cornish Cottage By The Sea is Jo, and she is one of many characters I warmed to really quickly in this novel. I loved reading as she grew in confidence and I was rooting for her all the way through. She's clearly been through a difficult time with her divorce (and I don't know how she didn't throw her phone in the sea when her insufferable ex husband called her) and I love the way that she takes the opportunity for a fresh start that she has been given and grabs it with both hands. She's supported wonderfully by Emma and Michelle, and I love the way the three ladies bounce off each other, and the humour in everything they do together.
Our hero is Seamus, and he is another brilliant creation. He has a great sense of humour and a really warm personality and I loved getting to know him.
Alongside the humour, Kim Nash tackles some quite sensitive issues which give the novel an extra emotional layer and make it incredibly relatable, not just for me, but for many other readers with different circumstances and backgrounds. I did guess the twist, but that did not lessen the impact and I will keep these characters in my heart for a long time.

jo jenkins has just come through a divorce and is forced to leave her home when a house that belonged to her exs aunti is left to her in a will.
She has no idea why she has been left it but she has always loved the house by the sea and decides to move there with a new start.
When she gets there it is not as she remembers it and needs a lot of work doing to it.
Whilst renovating the house and sorting through her aunties belongings she comes across a box with personal family items and wants to no more .
She becomes freinds with other local lonley people and starts a friends club.
Aswell as become close to a local handyman whos seems to turn up everyday with his dog who she really likes but thinks shes not his type even though he constantley gives her compliments.

"The Cornish Cottage by the Sea" by Kim Nash is the second book I’ve read from this talented author, and much like her first, it beautifully captures the charm of the Cornish landscape. The story centers on Jo Jenkins, a woman who has spent her life putting the needs of others before her own. Now that her children have grown up and her ex-husband, Michael, is living with her former friend, Jo, finds herself feeling adrift and uncertain about her future.
Everything changes when she receives a life-altering phone call: Michael's aunt has passed away, leaving her the Cornish cottage in Sandpiper. This quaint cottage holds many fond memories for Jo, who used to spend summers there with Michael and the girls when they were children. However, upon her return, she discovers that the once-vibrant home is in disrepair and requires extensive renovations—repairs that Jo simply can't afford.
As Jo navigates the challenges of restoring the cottage, she meets Seamus, a warm and approachable local electrician who is not only skilled but also possesses a great sense of humor. With the loyal company of his dog Theo, Seamus becomes a crucial ally in Jo’s renovation efforts. Together, they share countless hours working on the house, during which a deep friendship blossoms, filled with laughter and heartfelt conversations.
In Sandpiper, Jo also forms two meaningful friendships with two other women who understand her struggles and aspirations. These connections offer her a sense of belonging and support as she embarks on her journey of self-discovery. and friendship. With each passing day, Jo starts to envision a brighter future—one where she can prioritize her own happiness for a change.
Despite the obstacles she faces, including financial constraints and the looming memories of her past, Jo discovers a hidden secret within the cottage that reaffirms her decision to stay and make a new life for herself. Ultimately, "The Cornish Cottage by the Sea" is a heartfelt exploration of resilience, friendship, and the power of new beginnings.

The Cornish Cottage by the Sea by Kim Nash. The Cornish Cottage by the Sea is a charming story about Jo and Seamus.

Jo is in a bit of a rut with her life but things are about to change for the better when she inherits a cottage by the sea that turns her life around for the better. The cottage sadly isn’t quite as Jo had remembered it but you could easily see the potential of it being the perfect home. I fell in love with it as much as Jo did as well as the fabulous people she meets.
There was so much to love about this story. The beautiful setting, the ram shackled cottage, her new friends as well as Seamus. Jo certainly has her ups and downs and her ex, Michael, absolutely infuriated me. I don’t think I have ever wanted to slap a character as much as I did with him. Even her daughters made me want to give them a good shake. I loved Jo’s mum though who has a big heart. It was a shame to see how selfish some people can be with no thought for others. We get to see the good side of people though through Jo’s new friends and Seamus.
The Cornish Cottage by the Sea was sublime! It whisked me away to a place I would love to call my home and was a reminder of no matter what life throws at you, to keep your chin up, rise above it and concentrate on the good in life. There is a lot of humour with some great one-liners that left me with a smile on my face. It had everything I wanted from this genre with plenty of heart warming moments that was good for the soul. A joyous and uplifting story!
