Decent police procedural occasionally bogged down or dragged out with detail, but ultimately satisfying.

A bit of a dark read but one that I really enjoyed - not always comfortable reading - but sometimes you need to read a book that takes you out of your comfort zone.

I’m not sure why it’s taken me quite so long to get around to reading this book as I’m a huge fan of Elizabeth Haynes and have read most of her other books. Suffice to say Behind Closed Doors was up to her usual standard and I thoroughly enjoyed this suspense filled psychological thriller.
This is an author at the top of her game, with the claustrophobic feel of the setting drawing you in and not letting go until the final page has been turned. With strong characters and a complex plot with plenty of twists and turns, this is a book that never fails to entertain and keeps the surprises coming throughout.
A fantastic read that I would highly recommend.

This is my third book read from Elizabeth Haynes and I don't know how she keeps coming up with such utterly engrossing stories that leave me on tenterhooks throughout. There are very few authors out there who make me feel as 'claustrophobic' as she does.

I am not going to be reviewing this book, but thank you for the approval.

This seems to be the first book I have read by this author, but it's safe to say it wont be the last.
I hadn't realised when I started to read this that it was book 2. I hate reading books out of order.
It was an interesting read. I liked how we got to see past and present.
Scarlett disappeared while on holiday with her family. No trace of her, never to be seen again. Or so it seemed. 10 years later Scarlett turns up, but where can she have been for all this time and doing what, with whom?
After being part of the original case, Louisa Smith is determined to find out what has gone on, and wants answers. But will things be any that she expected.
What exactly is she going find.
This book seems to have been on my kindle for far to long, and I'm glad I finally got around to reading it. An interesting yet disturbing read.
