Sometimes you read a book and immediately know you have experienced something special – this is one of those! There are some beautifully poetic sentences and phrases that will forever live in my head. I have always believed in the power of books and this story epitomises that both figuratively and emotionally. Ten-year-old Mayowa has always thought her Grandpa Edward - who dyes his beard emerald green and jumps on books in private - is rather unusual, until she jumps on a book herself and uncovers a huge family secret. Mayowa is a logosalter, which means she can harness the emotions inside a book by jumping on it and channelling them into other people. When the opportunity to save countless people seeking refuge present itself, May wants to jump in with both feet! A completely amazing book that will start so many discussions in homes and classrooms. I will definitely be encouraging everyone to pick up a copy!
