A little slow to start but then it fully kicks in, another book that I just loved from Nora Roberts.
We manage to get close family dynamics, detailed settings and descriptions. Amazing characters that you just fall in love with.
Another great romantic suspense from Nora Roberts.
Arc generously provided via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.

The thing I loved most about this book was how the two serial killers spoke to each other. That sounds mad, I know. So often the murderers or 'badies', regardless of their reasons for murdering, also use extreme, vile, racist, sexist, bigoted, derogatory language. These two were respectful of each other; kind and loving to each other. It was lovely. Just a shame about all the murdering. And just a shame I liked their story more than the main characters'.

Hidden Nature is everything I have come to know and love from Nora Roberts. It has intrigue, mystery, romance, suspense, family and quirky dogs. The characters are highly relatable and likeable. It's slow pace had me absorbing and processing every word as I could feel the tension brewing both criminally and romantically. I loved the extending danger that kept me guarded and on my toes. You can't get a much better read than Hidden Nature.

This latest standalone from this excellent , prolific, author is on the whole
a gentle read , with moments of terror and horror .
Two sister from a loving family and two brothers from a cold and regimented family
what will they become ?
Annapolis CIB Corporal Sloan Cooper has been severely injured in a mini mart robbery , in fact she died
for a few minutes on the operating table before being resuscitated .
Returning home Herron's Restand her family home to recuperate she becomes mentally and
physically frustrated but her body and mind need to recover before she can return to job she loves
Her father , mother and sister do all they can to support her and she begins to find the mountains
and lakes forming a major part of her recovery - but she needs to occupy her mind and decides to
follow the case of a missing woman and look for similar cases to see if there is anything she can find
that might perhaps have been missed
Two brothers whose whole lives have been have been dictated by divorced , cold and neglectful , wealthy
parents have decided to forgo the careers they have been "forced" into and opt for a new life away from
New York City .......... and form a new company - The Fix it Brothers . - no building repair, maintenance job
too large or small
When these two men and women meet their attraction grows - In Theo and Drea's case the attraction is immediate
but in the case of Sloan and Nash the attraction is a much slower burn ........ leading to a gentle romance where
love has a time to grow .
But the investigation of the missing woman takes a major turn when Sloan links it to that of several others
who have similarly gone missing .... their one common dominator , they were all resuscitated after dying for
a few minutes . Someone is determined that they should not live on , that they have cheated death and that
someone has Sloan in their sights .......... can she survive another attack on her life ?
I enjoyed this book and if I was looking for just a gentle romance it would definitely be on my TBR list
but I have come to expect a little something "more" from the Author and in that , this book was slightly lacking
leaving me with a feeling of something is missing .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Classic Nora Roberts, this was a delicious bit of escapism as always. I enjoyed the compelling and twisty crime element which carried a lot of tension and the lovely, gentle romance. I thought Sloan was a brilliant character. Certainly this is one of Nora’s slower paced books but as I’m always happy to spend time in her worlds it was still a great read.

As always a totally engrossing story with great characters including Mop and Tig. A murder mystery with family and romance thrown in.

I really liked it, Nora is and always will be one of my favourite authors. I'll read anything she writes. The way she writes her characters and their stories, as well as their relationships, both romantic and familial, is unmatched.
This story is about Sloan, a Natural Resources police officer, who gets shot and almost dies after she walks in on a robbery. Her recovery will take time, so she goes back to her hometown with her parents and sister. While recovering, a missing person case gets her attention and by looking more into the case, she'll discover there are even more victims.
With Nash, her neighbour and contractor, who is helping her work through the case, will she able to find the killers before they strike too close. All while falling in love.
I absolutely loved the characters, Sloan and her family were such a delight. The way they embraced Nash and his brother Theo was amazing.
I enjoyed the suspense part, and I really liked the fact we got insight into the killers too.
The only thing I didn't liked is that the pace was really slow at times. Some things were way too detailed.
Also, the story is divided in three parts, and we only got to see Sloan and Nash meet in the second part. It didn't make any sense to drag it out that much.
Overall, still a great story. I really liked the setting. I recommend it.

4.9 Stars
Natural Resources Cop Sloan almost died after she was shot in a gas station - off duty.
Now she's back home at her parents' house to heal.
But she's bored only going on walks in the snow with the dog, doing breathing excercises and crotcheting scarves.
That's when she comes across the unsolved case of a young woman gone missing at a grocery store parking lot. And more such cases seem to pop up after a little research.
So while getting her strength back. Renovating a house, starting her job again and falling for the guy next door, she'll also need to find out why those people disappeared. What's the connection?

I mean... Nora Roberts could re-write the phone book of a huge city and I would read it.
I loved this! Some might say it was a bit slow at first - but I so enjoyed that. The walks in the snow with the adorable dog. Slowly healing and getting her strength back. The family love and food and comfort. The new guys in town. The mystery part. The detecting and the danger.
I just loved this and I so want to see this on TV one day!
► HIDDEN NATURE was a beautiful Nora Roberts novel. Full of family, snow, dogs, friends, love, food, fun, romance, HGTV things - throw in a couple of psycho killers. The perfect book!
Tiny little thing that bothered me - and almost always does in a NR book... everybody in this book talks so much like Eve Dallas. I wish she would make a bigger difference between her NR + JDR books. But I still love all of them. It was just so extreme this time because I had just finished an Eve Dallas before starting this one.

I need to start by saying I am a massive Nora Roberts fan. I really really enjoy her stories. So it pains me that this is the lowest review I’ve given.
I liked Sloan, her family, Nash and Theo. I liked the idea of the cop being brought back to life and two serial killers with the religious cult like belief.
What I didn’t enjoy was the way all the characters spoke in the same broken, repeated dialogue. It wasn’t a character quirk. Every single one of them spoke that way and it really started grating on me to the extent I was considering 3 stars. But as this is an arc so may be edited before release and I enjoyed the overall story, I stuck on 4.
I will still buy a copy of this book when it’s released for my sister.
I was given the opportunity to read this earc by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This has in no way influenced my review or opinion.

Hidden Nature by Nora Roberts is a gripping mix of suspense, mystery and romance. After surviving a near-fatal shooting, police officer Sloan Cooper returns to her hometown to recover. But when a local woman vanishes, Sloan uncovers a pattern of disappearances across multiple states.
With the help of a new love interest, Sloan throws herself into the investigation, risking everything to stop a growing threat. Roberts delivers a fast-paced, atmospheric story with a strong, likeable heroine and just the right touch of romance. I found it thoroughly enjoyable—Sloan’s resilience really stood out, and the balance between tension and heart made it hard to put down. A compelling read for fans of emotional thrillers.
