Detectives Leo and Shan are leading the investigation into the murder of a young man, shot while walking the Fells. A grouse shooting team was in the area and the individuals are all interviewed without clear results or motives.
When the culprit is finally discovered, Leo and Shan plus a dog and her handler, are in pursuit when the Fells burst into flames and a harrowing scene follows, nearly killing the two detectives. Very tense and frightening part of the book!
It's a really good read, I enjoyed it a lot.
