This is a story of unlikely friends banding together to help the others not make the same mistake again. Carolyn, Ava, and Jazmine are all at a crossroads in their careers and relationships when their lives collide. As they get to know each other they form the Red Flag Club to help each other see the red flags and take steps to avoid those relationships. The characters struggle with trust and communication making them suspicious of the others and easily hurt. It was nice to see the characters grow and begin to become comfortable with their authentic selves and with the friendship. This is a story for readers that enjoy stories of friendship and working to create a life that you truly want.

“Before the Next Mistake” by Cate Perry ✨
follows three women—Ava, Carolyn, and Jazmine 💼💔💸
Their lives collide through a series of accidents and a shared realization:
they’ve all endured painful relationships…
just to watch their exes upgrade for the next person 😒

📉 Emotionally.
💰 Financially.
📊 Professionally.

They form a "Red Flag" club 🚩—a sisterhood built on support, second chances, and not falling for the same patterns again.

💬 I loved how this book spotlighted the power of female friendships 💞
and the way we help each other rebuild 🧱 and rediscover ourselves ✨

It gave me total First Wives Club vibes (without the venom!) 😄
A heartwarming, real, and page-turning read.
I was hooked 'til the end 📖🙌

Thank you to Cate Perry, Black Rose Writing, and NetGalley for the ARC. My review is voluntary, and all opinions are my own.

The story follows 3 women Ava, Carolyn, and Jasmine. All unknown to one another until one fateful day. Without giving away the story, these ladies find their strength to weather life's ups and downs. It was a very good book.

This is a real book about real women living real lives in the face of everything that life throws at them. Carolyn, Ava, and Jasmine are three of the most unexpected friends that Fate finds a way of connecting when they each need the others support. I love that what brings these women together is not just a need to have someone be their advocate or offer them a path to success, but that they are there to listen to each other and become a true sister and found family accepting each other without any expectations.

“Before the Next Mistake” by Cate Perry is a delightful book highlighting the developing friendship of three women (Carolyn, Ava, and Jazmine) who become connected to each other after experiencing a series of professional, romantic, and financial catastrophes. Determined not to make the same mistakes again, they form a “Red Flag” club and support each other. Unfortunately, things do not go smoothly for them at all—if it’s not one thing, it’s another. I found myself turning the pages until I got to the end, wanting to know how these women fared.

I love books that focus on female friendships and this one has it all. Highly recommend! Many thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for an ARC of this novel. My opinion is my own.

This book hooked me from the very first page. It is a very well written book and I found myself in the story with the characters. My favorite scene is when the women are having drinks and a waiter points out a woman who needs help in the dating department and she keeps meeting men with ‘red flags’. They help the woman and then tell about all the ‘red flags’ in a partner and relationship. I could relate to so many of these! A story about friendships and women supporting each other. I loved it!

this is such an original premise and follow through the whole of the book. ive not read anything like this before and it was a perfect all rounder. im not sure i know how it did it but it uplifted me throughout. the themes the little quips of humor, the support from each character to each other it all amounted to something that leaves a lighter feeling. because it does feel like a supportive book. there are three woman who come across each other quite by accident. they are both facing things at work and home life and choose to work together to work on themselves. having realized that their "red flag" men have all turned it around and become something better for a future person they feel the need to start asking questions. how to be better, safer humans in themselves and their belief in themselves in order to have a better set of tomorrows.
this book was so wholesome. it had me turning the pages quicker as i wanted to find out what was to come next for them as individuals and as a whole.
this is a great find of a read. one you will pick up,read and be so glad you did.
