This was such a good read! Overall, the book was well written and I did really enjoy it. Thank you for this advance reading copy!

Netgalley ARC - 3.5 stars rounded up. This is a playful book about asking questions and learning about snakes. The art is not my favorite and it is pretty simple, but kids will definitely like the fun hypothetical snake-situations.

Do Snakes have Whiskers is a quick, funny read that asks continuous questions, almost like a "Where Do Diggers Sleep at Night?" with answers provided by the main character's family members. This story would be great for young snake lovers, but if your child doesn't love snakes or find them interesting, they might have a hard time staying engaged. The big illustrations that spanned both pages were okay, but not my favorite. I felt that they could have been geared more towards a younger audience given the simplicity of the book.

A pleasant enough rhymed book about snakes, as a child asks almost nonsensical questions about them, and then garners the answers. The artwork is OK, the double-paged spreads allowing the text to be very visible and readable, and the final sting to the verses is great. But I don't know how educational this will prove to be, nor how the 'all the random questions, then all the random answers in different orders' structure will really suit all young readers. Three and a half stars.

This was surprisingly hilarious. A little girl has A LOT of questions, and how much can her loved ones possibly know about snakes? Of course she has ulterior motives: she wants her own snake!

"Do Snakes have Whiskers" is one of the many questions Jo O'Riordan tackles in this her delightful children's work. The narrator's interest in snakes leads to many questions that those nearest and dearest to her try to answer. The colorful artwork is the perfect complement to the story, creating cues to help the reader visualize the actions and reactions. This book is perfect for inquisitive young ones, but any child would love it.
