An interesting read. Slow paced, didn’t grab my attention until about half way through. Did like Faith, my main character. Her thirst for knowledge and justice is admirable but her means were questionable
Epub file on my kindle corrupted (lost old one and had to redownload everything from Amazon) so am unable to access - thank you for the opportunity.
Frances Hardinge is a bit of a marmite author for me. I absolutely LOVED Cuckoo Song, and got it, 100%. I loved all the build up of the layers in the story. The Lie Tree is written beautifully but it just wasn't for me. I hate writing negative reviews. The author is definitely timeless and I will continue to recommend her.
I struggle to read capital G Good Books, and did indeed have a hard time getting into this one. I've recommended it to several students as a stretch and challenge title, but they too have struggled. Those who have made it to the end say that the pay off is worth it! I wish I could have made it.
