Thank you NetGalley for the ARC opportunity!
This was a slow build, but the payoff was great! It really fell together in the end, and i never could really pinpoint where it was going to go. That is what makes a strong thriller, in my opinion.
Even with the slow build, this was one that was hard to put down. I easily could have binged it in a day if time allowed. I have read one other Alex Sinclair book, and i will continue to read them because i have yet to be disappointed!!

Thank you to Netgalley and Joffe Books for this ARC!
This is my first read from Alex Sinclair and it won't be my last! I throughly enjoyed the storyline and characters. I neglected everything I had to do so that I could finish this book in a day.

Thank you Joffe Books and NetGalley for and early copy of The Ex. This took a looooong time to get to the climax but it was worth it. When I got to the end, it ALL made sense and I was shocked how it all came together. Jack was and is still a sleaze!! Each character had a side to them that wasn’t nice. I kind of had an idea who the main culprit was and I was right but just not in the way I thought. Thank you again.

Jack and Bianca live in a cul-de-sac, but are seeing a therapist to try and save their marriage.
Nicole moves in next door, she and Jack were an item in college.
Bianca is convinced Nicole is ttying to get Jack back.
Twisty psychological thriller, written from two POV's, Bianca and the ex-girlfriend.
It is only near the end that the reader finds out who the ex-girlfriend is. I never figured out who she was until the reveal.
I did enjoy this, and read it in a couple of sittings.

The Ex by Alex Sinclair is my first read from this author, but it will certainly not be my last.
Bianca and Jack share a home with their two children on a quiet cul de sac. But their peaceful existence is upended with the arrival of new neighbour Nicole, a woman who is very well-known to the couple, and Bianca is immediately on her guard. Nicole's arrival can only pose a threat to her marriage, and she is not taking any chances given the history that her husband and this woman share.
I love a dual timeline, and the author orchestrates both narratives beautifully to successfully ramp up the suspense and tension. I look forward to reading much more from this author.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Joffe Books for an ARC.

First, I wanna thank Netgalley and Joffe Books for this ARC!
Another great book I have been reading in one sitting (a rainy holiday can do that to people, right? Make them stay cozy at home to read).
We learn how Bianca and Jack were college sweethearts and how they seem to have a perfect life with perfect kids in a perfect home. And then a new neighbout moves in, Nicole. Nicole who is connected to Bianca and Jack. And we learn that something has happened eighteen years ago, in college. Something Nicole obviously was involved in. Something that made her be called insane. Not to mention, she was also once Jack's girlfriend. For a very short time. From that point on, things seem to spiral out of control in the once perfect and peaceful neighbourhood...
Great and twisty book and very much recommended!

The Ex starts with a bang. Eighteen years ago, someone tells us a story about herself and her object of affection, who she refers as J + N. The narrator tells us that she was groomed by her college professor. In the present day, Bianca tells us about her new neighbour who has just moved into the house next door. She laments the loss of her close friendship with the couple who is moving out, and tells us about her day-to-day with her children and husband Jackson, who goes by Jack. The couple is seeing a marriage counselor after Jack's infidelity which she was only able to forgive because it was a drunken one-night-stand with a random woman he met at a bar. Bianca has made the mistake of confiding in her neighbour Ellie about it, which she now regrets. The culc-de-sac gets together to throw a barbeque for their new neighbour, which turns out to be Jack's "insane girlfriend from college", Nicole. Bianca immediately knows that Nicole has orchestrated this to come after Jack, who typically tells her she's seeing things that aren't there. Nicole offers Bee and Jack a truce, asking them to agree to not tell anyone about what happened in college because she isn't the same person anymore. What happens next will shock you to the core...
I loved this book from start to finish. I love, love, love a good villian story! I love that we know straight from the beginning that Nicole is connected to Bianca and Jack's past, and we know that she has a plan to destroy them. And we also know that Jack is a cheater. I'm sorry not sorry that I don't buy the 'drunken one-night-stand' excuse. Kudos to the author for making me absolutely loathe Jack! And I loved Bianca's multidimensional character. There I was thinking she was a bit of a doormat, when something horrible happens to her: she receives an anonymous threatening message in a "special package" which OBVIOUSLY must've come from Nicole. You would've thought Bianca would be terrified, but lo and behold she takes matters into her own hands and well, you'll have to read The Ex and find out for yourself.
As the two narratives go on, we get to know more about what happened eighteen years ago. Or do we? Obviously, OBVIOUSLY I thought where this was going, but obviously I didn't!! This was such a rollercoaster where I suspected EVERYONE and then every time I thought I was right... boom! another turn!!
The ending was wild!! I'm speechless!!

I started and finished this in one day. I literally could not put it down! Each time I thought I had it, I was wrong. Not only an easy read but a fantastic psychological thriller that just kept on giving until the end!

I want him back. And I want her gone. Bianca and Jack were college sweethearts. They have the perfect fairytale story and a life filled with love and laughter. It’s all a lie. Bianca has a beautiful house on a quiet cul-de-sac, two small children and a gorgeous husband. Her life is perfect. It should be mine. Because once upon a time, Jack and I were the golden couple. That was going to be our future. So I move to the same neighborhood. I befriend everyone on the close. I make sure they trust me. I’m the perfect neighbor! Great read!! What a chilling thriller! This book had great suspense, murder, mystery, intrigue, gaslighting, fantastic characters and a few wild twists! The story was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and Joffe books for sharing this book with me!

A fast paced thriller read with good characters and I was involved in the storyline from the beginning until the end.
Thank you to Netgalley and Joffe Books for this ARC which I can thoroughly recommend.

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. I mean wow. This book was soooo good! It had a really exciting plot and I was thrown by the many twists and turns my head was in a spin!
I devoured in one sitting I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough this was a gloriously wicked must-read! This book explores secrets and betrayal and how the past can come back to haunt it when we least expect it!
It was absolutely fantastic, suspense-filled and unputdownable which made the book addictive followed by a wild unexpected ending!
