I really liked the overall message in this book, teaching children how to treat animals respectfully and give them their space. The illustrations were super cute as well. The rhyming scheme didn't match up in a few places which took me out of the cadence and made me stumble over the story in a few places though.

This was a quick and easy read. My children and I love rhyming books, so I know they would enjoy this one! I wasn't entirely sure where this one was headed, as it wasn't clear what was happening to Snickers. Overall, I would recommend it for a kitty-cat-loving kid.

Chloe and the Cat That Napped is an adorable book with simple but eye catching illustrations. Chloe like any other kid wants to play with her cat Snickers. However, Snickers just wants to sleep! At the end of the day, she finds Snickers with a surprise.

Overall, this was a cute story that teaches the readers to give others space but still checking up on them to make sure they’re okay.

This book was a tale of a girl who wanted to play with her cat but needed to respect the fact that the cat didn't want to play with her. I wasn't sure if the message behind the narrative was that we need to respect boundaries when others don't want what we want, respect for animals, or something else. It got a little muddy. The poetry was cute but didn't scan quite right in a lot of areas.

The illustration was an absolute delight. Every photo was adorable, and I just loved the art style. I think this would have been two stars if the art hadn't been so charming.

I have a kiddo who loves to read. I probably won't be purchasing this book, but it was a cute story.

This is a simple, sweet story with adorable illustrations. Chloe wants to play with her cat Snickers, but Snickers isn't interested; she just wants to sleep! At the end of Chloe's adventurous day of play, she goes to find Snickers only to find not one, but four surprises waiting for her.

I really appreciate the main message of being gentle, kind, and aware of your cat's moods, especially as it's aimed at young kiddos. (The cat lover in me is like "GET SNICKERS SPAYED!" but I digress...)

All in all, a very cute book. Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing me with a free eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book encapsulates a handful of helpful things for children to learn! Not only do they learn to be careful and gentle, but this book also teaches children to respect others’ space (even pets!), independent play, and how to listen to their guardian. My baby cousin and I read this together, and she was so engaged with the story and the illustrations! I enjoyed it myself :) A wonderful read for everyone!

What a cute book. I enjoyed the style of illustrations and the message behind the book. I felt gentle touch might be introduced a little sooner so maybe having pages be shorter would keep attention more for more little readers but I think the book is still great.

This was a cute book that my daughter enjoyed. It is beautifully illustrated and kept her interest while we read through it. I love the message behind it, of being gentle with our pets (something my daughter still sometimes needs reminding of).

As a parent however, I'm not sure I am on board with the idea of not knowing your cat is pregnant...however, overall the story was short sweet and has a great message. Can't wait to revisit this book with my daughter many times!

Thanks to the author/publisher and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read this book with my daughter!

As a substitute teacher I work with all different age groups in both SPED and Gen Ed and I am always on the lookout for fun ways to feel in any time gaps in our day. This book is great for preschool and kindergartners. The rhyming text flowed beautifully and is something both child and adult will be able to enjoy. I wasn’t expecting the storyline to turn in the direction it did so that will surly be something to hold the young reader’s attention. All in all it was a cute story and I’d recommend it.

This was an extremely cute story of a toddler who loves her cat, but can not understand why the cat doesn't like her.
It was fun watching the child do different things and play make believe, while she listens to her mother and gives the cat some space.
The dramatic point in the story made it seem a lot worse than it was. But the happy ending made the story worth it.
All in all I am giving this cute story a 5/5 rating. And highly recommend this book for your little ones library.

This was a sweet and simple story about the excitement of a little girl wanting to play with her pet cat. After a long day of playing alone, she learns a lesson about being patient and gentle with her pet. She even finds a fun surprise waiting for her! This would be a fun addition to any nursery or preschool classroom.

Perfect companion read for storytime! Adding this to recommend for classrooms. A really cute story! Loved the little lesson on patience and how to spend your time when kids can get a little ( a lot lol ) antzy.

This is cute and I liked the relationship between the mother and her little girl. I thought it was going to be a story about a little girl learning that cats really do just sleep most of the time, but instead they didn't notice the cat was pregnant and then they had several kittens too. I'm a huge animal advocate and think it's better to promote more responsibility with caring for our pets.

The art and story were pretty cute, and I really enjoyed the depiction of the mother-toddler relationship. It was a little wordy for the age demographic, in my opinion. Thanks to the publisher and net galley for letting me read!
