Diary excerpts from six young men, all from different backgrounds, all with their own story to tell about their experiences in the First World War. Truly eye opening as we see and hear about this terrible time through their personal viewpoints. Graphic descriptions, the misery, sadness, lack of privacy, losing companions - just never knowing what would happen next or if they would even survive. Highlights are receiving letters from loved ones and of course food. A book for anyone who is interested in WW1 - fascinating.
