After switching in recent years to his Scottish homeland with his historical noirs starring ex-solider turned private eye Lennox trying to make his way on the hard streets of 1950s Glasgow, Craig Russell returns to where it all began for him as a novelist in THE GHOSTS OF ALTONA, an outstanding instalment in his original Jan Fabel series of Hamburg-set crime tales entwined with mythology and darkness. This seventh Fabel tale may be the best yet, and will make newer readers want to go back and read the entire series. A treat.
