Most of these didn't settle on me at all, but there were two stories I really loved:

The Dowager of Bees is based around a series of strange playing cards (eg. instead of the Queen of Hearts, it's the Dowager of Bees) that randomly appear in decks, and lead to terrible forfeits. Many of the other stories seemed needlessly obtuse, but this one didn't let the prose get in the way of the narrative and imagery.

Säcken is, no joke, one of the scariest stories I've ever read in my life. And I've read approximately 578,129 horror stories. The pace is good, the sensory detail is great, and that last line – bloody hell. If I ever curate a collection of my all-time favourite creepy stories (hey, I can dream, this will be on the list).
