I love the author’s writing and was delighted to receive a copy of this novel through Netgalley some 8 years ago. How I did not come to read it at the time, I have no idea and no excuses.
This is a meticulously researched novel that centres around extreme psychological issues. As we gradually come to see the solution, we are led literally up the garden path! Nothing is straight forward and nothing left to chance.
This novel also deals with Sgt Havers trying to rehabilitate herself into Scotland Yard and how difficult it is when you don’t fit in. Havers is making progress though and Lynley too in the romantic front.
Slightly too long for me to give it 5 stars, but I do love the writing!
