A fascinating read. It kept me gripped. I'd never read anything from the author before so was a fab introduction to her writing
An enthusiastic 3.5 stars for A Dark and Sinful Death by Alison Joseph.
The Nun, Sister Agnes, has quite enchanted me in this enjoyable 'cosy'. Although I have never had any close encounters with nuns, I don'the believe Agnes is a run of the mill nun. She is, at times, sassy, stylish, irreverent, enquiring and absolutely determined.
'How could Mary have said no? If an angel came to you and suggested that you might bear a divine child-'
'I'd say no. Wouldn't you? I've gone to all this trouble to have an orderly life, and then that? Absolutely out of the question. I'd tell him 'Go and pick someone else.' 'Agnes laughed.
A Dark and Sinful Death is #4 in a series but is easily read as a stand alone. And yes, I enjoyed it to the extent that I have added the series to my reading list.
