This is the third in a series of books that Carole Matthews has written, you don’t need to have read the first two to get the feel of this book it gives you enough background to make sense of the characters and al their relationships. Though I think if you want the full chocolate experience it would be to read them all.
Lucy is running the chocolate café and having to deal with her ex turning back up, offering her a different future.
Chantal is finding her feet as a new mum and realising that her husbands not quite grasping fatherhood and marriage as she thought.
Nadia, is grieving and when her sister reaches out to her, it seems that perhaps old memories are forgotten from some of her family. But her brother in law has a rather different outlook.
Autumn, is struggling to accept the choices her brother made and the reluctance of her parents to change their attitude.
These four women, congregate at every given opportunity to rant, rave and regale tales of their lives and use the support of each other to make the next stages in life.
A book full of how women support other women with a great big dose of chocolate without the calories! If only it was that easy, but this book is the perfect escape.

Great book by Carole Matthews. I really enjoyed this Christmas story, lovely characters and i like Carole's style of writing.

Carole Matthew’s always knows how to deliver a beautifully written book with a mix of drama, humour and friendship. Having read all the previous Chocolate lovers books this one like the others did not disappoint. Make sure you have chocolate on hand when reading this book!

Really enjoyable read. Good characters and a Good story. Well worth a read. Think others will. Enjoy

Ahhhh! These books are so fun to read. They are light, fun but also deal with serious topics; all four women unite over their love of chocolate and no problem can be solved without it.
We meet again with the Chocolate Lovers Club members: Lucy, Chantal, Nadia and Autumn. This is the 3rd book in the series that focus' on Christmas....hence the title. Lucy is running Chocolate Heaven and has finally found her calling. Chantal has had her baby and trying to make a go of it with Ted her Husband. Nadia is adapting to life after the death of her husband and Autumn is also grieving after her brother Rich dies. This time round another member is added to the group and more shenanigans ensue.
These books always have a lot going on and we hear from all the members of the club throughout the book. Secrets are unveiled and unwanted ex's surface but Lucy Lombard always manages to make me smile just by being her ditzy self. The writing is not the best but it's easy to read and fast. It reminds me of Sex in the City but in London and involves chocolate rather than fashion.
The amount of chocolate that these women eat is excessive but the descriptions of the chocolates get your mouth watering. This book does quite a good job in reminding you what happened previously in the series. It is left on a cliff hangar at the end, so I need to the next book in the series asap.

Well, I’m not sure that this IS a review, given that I unfortunately called it a day at 36%, after two years and numerous attempts to read, but I need to let you know why I didn’t finish, so here it goes.
I requested this book on the back of numerous rave reviews, all four and five stars, from various bloggers out there. We all know that Carole Matthews and Sarah Morgan took their roles as queens of Christmas some time ago, and I’d read ‘Calling Mrs Christmas,’ and ‘With Love at Christmas’ and I think one other and had always fallen in love with them and eaten them up over the holiday period. I found her descriptions magical and wonderous and everything a Christmas read should be.
I’m not sure whether it’s been since I’ve started blogging, and so have upped my range of books, but I found myself drifting away from the story, of Lucy, manager of ‘Chocolate Heaven, her friends, Autumn, Chantal and Nadia, and her boyfriend, Aidan. I didn’t really connect with any of them, finding them a little immature and a bit selfish. What drove this home was that anytime anyone was ANYWAY nice to anyone else, there were cries of how lovely they were, how selfless etc, and as it happened a few times it began to grate a little.
From the start there was comedy, only because I wasn’t sure I liked the characters, I’m afraid it didn’t really connect. Interspersed with everything going wrong for Lucy, with some really funny moments that I honestly would have liked if I wasn’t finding it hard to connect with her, were some more serious issues, the story of Autumn’s past, which for the first time made me realise what people meant when they said some issues didn’t fit in with the chick lit genre and felt out of place. Jumping from fun and hilarity to this, with the drama dial suddenly upped out of nowhere just felt muddled and I found myself shrugging a little. Add to this their solution to everything was chocolate, and yes I know this is The Chocolate Lovers’ series, and so it’s a given, but it was mentioned so much the word itself lost all meaning.
The descriptions of setting, as they headed towards Christmas, as ever, were stunning, beautiful, magnificent, making you want to transport yourself to that time of year. And so I trundled on. I stopped and started this book so many times. I’ve only ever given up on three books in my life, and I couldn’t fathom that this would be number four. I know that there are a world of people out there that adore this book, and I’ve no doubt there will be so many people who will love it, and it will be a great Christmas read for them, unfortunately not for me. Thanks to Netgalley for this book in return for an honest review, and apologies it didn’t work out.
No rating as I didn’t finish.

I love chocolate, so this book was for me! I enjoyed the characters. All of the women were interesting and I enjoyed reading about their lives and challenges. The storyline moved right along and kept me interested. I enjoyed the relationships between the women, as well as those with the men in their lives.

This is the third book in the 'Chocolate Lovers' series, following the adventures of four friends. Lucy loves running 'Chocolate Heaven' (a chocolate cafe) but she has no time for her boyfriend, and now her ex-fiance is back on the scene as well. Nadia's husband died suddenly and now she is raising their son alone. She is getting close to Jacob, but does he have eyes for someone else? Autumn's brother has also died and she is struggling to cope with her grief. If her fiance won't comfort her, will she look elsewhere for support? And Chantal and her husband Ted have a new baby daughter, but Ted also has another new daughter with another woman. It's all a bit mixed up and confusing!
Basically this is a romantic novel about four friends who all share a deep love of chocolate. Each of the story lines runs alongside the others, and the chapters switch from one of the friends to another. Lucy's story is written in the first person, while all of the others are written in the third person, which does seem a little odd. Although this is the third book in the series, I found that it was very easy to catch up with the characters. I didn't feel that I needed to have read any of the other books in or.
Now, I love this kind of book and I get really hooked by them. I can usually rip through one in a day or two, and if it's a Christmassy story then that's even better. I also love chocolate so you can probably imagine that I was really looking forward to reading this novel. But somehow, it didn't quite hit the mark in the way that I was hoping for.
Christmas references are scattered throughout the book, but until the last few chapters it's just an occasional mention of chocolate reindeer or truffles shaped like Santa hats. If a book has Christmas in the title then I want full on snow, masses of decorations, and Christmas feasting galore. Something like 'Christmas at the Beach Cafe' by Lucy Diamond or 'Sealed with a Christmas Kiss' by Rachael Lucas. 'The Chocolate Lovers' Christmas' was an enjoyable read, but it didn't immediately get me in the Christmas mood.
I also found that the most interesting storylines were not resolved in this book. I'm guessing that is because the author has a fourth book planned and wants to carry over those plots into that. But it was incredibly frustrating to have the characters left hanging like that. Rather than making me desperate to read the next installment, it left me feeling a little bit short-changed. Unusually, it took me a few sittings to get through the book because it just didn't keep me reading til the small hours of the morning.
If you are a fan of Carole Matthews' books and the 'Chocolate Lovers' series, then I think you will probably love this book. It's certainly an enjoyable book, but personally it left me wanting a little bit more than it delivered.
