I chose this book with the hopes of insight into the mindset of a hired assassin. You do get this, sort of. I even managed to like our protagonist at times.
He is out to save the world indirectly, but it becomes messier for him when he comes into contact with Raven, another hired killer.
There were two fairly long sections of a chase and these frankly bored me. They were neither what I was expecting or looking for.
I will not criticise this novel too much though as it is my fault that it didn't live up to my hopes.
My final thoughts are that the world is a lonely place and assassinating people is not for me. No great revelations there then!
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this novel. The opinions are my own and I appreciate that I can be less than positive in these reviews, but I will always try to be respectful.

The fifth novel in Tom Wood's excellent Victor the Assassin series.

Tom Wood's novel have a very cinematic feel to them: the action, the pacing, they all feel like they belong on the big screen. If you're a fan of fast-paced thrillers, then you should really be reading this series already...

If you're a fan of authors like Gregg Hurwitz, Kyle Mills/Vince Flynn, Brad Thor and others of that ilk, then I'm sure you'll enjoy the Victor series.

Recommended.
